Its the truth, especially if you manage to quickly rack up combos and launches, as a Ganon main you can literally feel the other player get nervous and confused when a "shitty" character is beating the hell out of them. lol. Shit is hella gratifying given his major weaknesses. I feel the same with Dr Mario.

Everyone seems to forget the very next time Light and Nairo met in bracket, Nairo went straight to the Ganondorf, Light just turned to the crowd and gave them a thumbs up, then bopped Nairo HARD, forcing him off the Ganondorf very quickly.

In most levels of Smash, it's not a really bad character. Bad players will play better with him (as they're not skilled enough to utilize fast characters). The higher skill players have, the more unplayable he is. Top level, Ganondorf is trash, because with optimal inputs, he just cannot win. There are still players quite high up that are able to play him in tournaments (not close to top 50 though).

Since bad news is more widespread than good news and so I'm sure there are plenty of people who heard of what he "did", but then never hear the truth. Or worse, they do hear, but quickly forget and only remember the lies. Basically the first thing someone hears is the only thing they will care about, and no further information will matter afterwards.
