Excellent Movie. Two of my favorite actors in it Rory Calhoun and Peggy Castle. Excellent Cast, Story, Direction and music score by Les Baxter. Thanks for the upload. Out.
I am a RORY Calhoun fan since school days watched all his movies and became a part time movie actor under Johnny Angel Cool movie extra Wellington New Zealand. Thanks YOU TUBE FOR THE EXCELLENCE OF MOVIE ENTERTAINMENT..
Another gr8 Western with Rory Calhoun. Gr8 storyline. Enjoy 4 those who come across this film. Pity it wasnt in color. Although one of the folk who has watched it previously said he has seen it in color
Peggy Castle from "Lawman", what a stone fox! Sadly, she died young from alcoholism. This was filmed in color - 34 second mark - but neither here nor on TV is it shown in color. I have noticed the same thing with some other Westerns, one with Randolph Scott. Does anyone know why? I can't see how it would save money, to strike off from color prints a black and white version.
Western originalmente feito em cores, mas aqui numa cópia em preto e branco. Lançado nos EUA em maio de 1954, com distribuição da United Artists, passou no Brasil como "Machado sangrento".
This movie is set around 1870 so it was cool to see Peggy Castle in a tight pair of pants . She was ahead of the curve and wahoo-doggy , she had some nice ones 😁
I wish these women would grab a rifle change their frilly dresses for a pair of trousers and stay with the men! It amazes me that they are always shown with immaculate hair and not a speck of dirt, dust or sweat to be seen.
In those days, actors were still under contract to the studio, and if they told you were playing and Indian, you played an Indian, or a London Gentleman, or what ever the part was, there was no argument, you did it or you were farmed out to minor studios to finish out your contract, and then black-balled from working in Hollywood ever again. So at the cost of your career, you did what you were told.
Filme para Inglês assistir, alguém esqueceu que o nosso idioma e o português, e que estamos no Brasil, legendado já seria um sinal de respeito com o público brasileiro, lamentavel
Did anyone else notice that sometimes, the underlying recurring theme music was nearly identical to the theme song of the early Lassie episodes? Thanks for uploading this.
Las peliculas de esos años son las mejores, lamentablemente todos hacen oidos sordos en cuanto al pedido de que las pasen subtituladas en castellano, saludos
My son and his wife lived where a wild fire 🔥 destroyed nearly 100 homes in the area. They lost their home, a dog 🐶 grooming building his wife operated and their barn all burned the the ground. The escaped with the 2 vehicles they were driving, the clothes on their backs, their wallets, cell phones, whatever they had on their persons. They had 8 dogs and my son was able to save 4 of them. The other 4 panicked 😱 and ran when he tried to catch them. He caught their little chihuahua but she was so small and wiggle that she slipped out of his hands. They also lost their two expensive motorcycles 🏍and a gun safe full of guns.
Bob: Since the film was released in 1954, it most likely went over to TV by the late '50s. Since most TV sets at the time were black and white, copies of the film released to TV studios were probably made in black and white (common practice at the time) since the viewer would only see it in B/W anyway. That's my guess.
ok, that's your guess, but no answer to bob lackey's question: just trying to find out, whether or not rareclassicsdvds are selling the -original- colored version...
I saw this picture in the show when I was a kid and it was very disturbing seeing the Indians killing American women and presumably children. I knew both Americans and Indians killed women and children, I was a very well read kid, but you didn’t often see it on the screen. The Searchers was another freaky movie for a 1950s kid to see.
" Indians killing American women and presumably children" The Indians were the original Americans. And we "Americans" broke every single treaty we made with them, we did indeed speak with forked tongue.
Rory Calhoun and Noah Beery Jr. made this movie. "Honey Bear" did well too. Too bad James Best had to die so soon. Lee Van Cleef also was good in this movie. I never did like Peter Graves. He played too many parts like this. Good movie.
Another great movie with Rory Calhoun hadn't seen this one till now. Keep them coming

Lee Van Cleef usually plays a no good, back shooting gunfighter. Seeing him in this role is a first for me. Fantastic movie! Thanks! 😊
Peter Graves played the part of the no good as he usually does.
I am a RORY Calhoun fan since school days watched all his movies and became a part time movie actor under Johnny Angel Cool movie extra Wellington New Zealand. Thanks YOU TUBE FOR THE EXCELLENCE OF MOVIE ENTERTAINMENT..

Rita Moreno was unrecognizable here. She was only 22 and was already a seasoned actress. Great film.
she is VERY recognizable, and very beautiful
And a beautiful Puerto Rican lady like my wife.
She went on to win an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a Grammy in her career.
Mega western tolle Indianerkämpfe und Mega Landschaft toll gefilmt auch sehr brutal und echt 9.5 von 10 Sternen

Aussum movie great actors old westerns are excellent
Another gr8 Western with Rory Calhoun. Gr8 storyline. Enjoy 4 those who come across this film. Pity it wasnt in color. Although one of the folk who has watched it previously said he has seen it in color
Despite being shown here in B&W it was in color - even the opening credits say: "Color by Color Corporation of America".
Incredible film 🎥
Good to see a young Lee van Cleef ❤️
You can also see a young Lee Van Cleef in Joe Dakota
@@peterharwood1430 thanks for the heads up. I'll be watching it tonight.
😅
Lee was in all the TV westerns of the 50s and 60s along with Jack Elam,Claude Akins and Leo Gordon.
Peggy Castle from "Lawman", what a stone fox! Sadly, she died young from alcoholism.

A hunting arrow is diamond shaped so it comes out easier a war arrow is V shaped so it causes damage when extracted.

Excuse me stewardess, I can help here.
She was beautiful the little Native American girl. A real sweetheart. All good actors and movie.
I was 9 years old when this movie came out.
I enjoyed it. Thank you.
PETER GRAVES ( MISSION IMPOSSIBLE), LEE VAN CLEEF BECAME FAMOUS DOING SPAGHETTI WESTERNS, AND RORY CALHOUN, A PRETTY GOOD ACTOR FROM THE 50'S.
That was the best movie I have ever seen thanks for posting
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
PEGGY CASTLE, I REMEMBER HER FROM THE LAWMAN SERIES.
Thanks
woow it's very great old movie with the Indians and soldiers thank you very much for this exiting movie western 😂😂😂😂
NOTHING LIKE THE LATE 40'S ,50'S, 60'S AND EARLY 70'S FOR GOOD WESTERN MOVIES AND SERIES.
Agreed. But leave the 70’s out for me. The quality and beauty went out when coloreds came.
There’s my man Noah Wallace Berry Jr. 👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😘😘😘
Excellent caste and movie. Honey bear was hot!!!
You’re telling me Lane Bradford not in this western?
I wish these women would grab a rifle change their frilly dresses for a pair of trousers and stay with the men! It amazes me that they are always shown with immaculate hair and not a speck of dirt, dust or sweat to be seen.
I'm just happy that pretty Honey Bear didnt get killed.))))
This train will stop at TukemKari
The yellow Tomhawk good movies
Mega Film tolle Indianerkämpfe vielleicht der Beste Western 9.5
Was Rory Calhoun in this show. Really great movie

Joey Bishop played an indian in Texas across the river. Rock Hudson as Young Bull in Winchester 73. Jeff Chandler as Cochise in Broken Arrow.

Thanks for uploading this.
I guess there is good reason for that. I just looked it up on IMDb, and Les Baxter, who wrote the music for this movie, also wrote the Lassie music.
Good Movie !!
Las peliculas de esos años son las mejores, lamentablemente todos hacen oidos sordos en cuanto al pedido de que las pasen subtituladas en castellano, saludos

Warner Anderson was the narrator of TVs Peyton Place.

Red flag 🚩 warning for the panhandle area of Oklahoma and Texas where we live. High temperature and wind.
RORY CALHOUN, A PRETTY GOOD ACTOR, I REMEMBER PEGGY CASTLE FROM THE SERIES "LAWMAN"..
James Best is in everything.
Lee Van Chief
10/10
Don't know what happened but this movie is in color. I've seen it on TV in color and a couple times like this..black and white. Hmmm.
LOVE the black and white!
Klasse Western macht Spaß super
Ok movie. Thanks.

Um yeah... thanks for that useless comment & non-information.

Missing synopsis: When the army insists on building a fort on Indian land, in defiance of a treaty, the warnings of a scout go unheeded.
Why is it shown in black and white when it was filmed in color
ok, that's your guess, but no answer to bob lackey's question: just trying to find out, whether or not rareclassicsdvds are selling the -original- colored version...
beau film
Knallharter Mega Western indianerangriffe gegen Soldaten sehr realistisch 9 von 10 Sternen
A young Van glees as an Indian ,on his road to stardom ....
Starker Film klasse
Thank you appreciate video
Top movie 👌😍😍😍🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Peter Graves was a bad guy in a bunch of these films.
brother of James Arness
Help!! It seems I'm running out of westerns I haven't seen.😢
🎥
The soldier who dies at 1hr8m was one of the bad guys in the lift with Cary Grant in North by Northwest.
02:44 Lee Van Cleef !
Lee Van Cliff
Lee van Cleef as an Indian with his jersey accent.
Whaddya nuts? It's youse foreigners beyond the Delaware or Hudson Rivers that all have accents.
Too bad the original color print has been lost.
Ok that explains it, the poster says it’s supposed to be in color.
I also remember watching the Searchers and since I have watched that movie probably 30 times and know almost every word by heart. ha.
Don't call me uncle!
" Indians killing American women and presumably children"
The Indians were the original Americans. And we "Americans" broke every single treaty we made
with them, we did indeed speak with forked tongue.
a pretty good western. 've seen it several times..
An early appearance of Lee van Cleff...
as an indian............
Gordon Fricker
I thought that was Lee Van Cleef. :) He's playing the Indian at ua-cam.com/video/9Q_xt8VfKxc/v-deo.htmlm26s
I liked it thank you for sharing
He portrayed a EurAsian in "China Gate" with Angie Dickinson and Gene Barry.@@seekerblue447
Rory Calhoun and Noah Beery Jr. made this movie. "Honey Bear" did well too. Too bad James Best had to die so soon. Lee Van Cleef also was good in this movie.
I never did like Peter Graves. He played too many parts like this.
Good movie.
They let the murdering bastard Colonel live....what a worthless ending.
Custer was the same way, butchered the Indians
Custer got his at Little Big Horn and perhaps we are supposed to think that the Colonel got what was coming to him via court martial or firing squad
Excellent Western, brutal
Thank you for the upload. Typical but enjoyable fare. I wish they had not felt the need to have 'leading ladies' in the old westerns.
No way, I love all the babes in these old westerns.
Welcome 🤗, the first General Custer substitute. 🙈🙈🙈😳😳😳😱😱😱
Thổ dân da đỏ tấn công bằng ngựa phi cung tên giáo mác khiếp sợ luôn
A thumbs down for an unsatisfactory ending. I wanted that Major to be punished but I was glad that woman didn’t get Rory Calhoun.
Rory got the woman and the butcher was tried for his crimes got Court martialed and faced a firing squad!
Of cause, the Indians would leave a sabre stuck in the ground!!
Stuart Whitmun.
Albert Harris most likely 'ghosted' Les Baxter's music score.
Ok
Awesome movie....but hard to see Lee and Rita as Indians.
How do we know the sheriff and and his deputy won’t ran off with the money??
That Indian is western actor Lee Van Cleef .
Thats funny Lee Van Cleef plays an Indian
clee
