I finished this book last night. Tons of heart and humour!!!!! Kudos Miriam!
I was assigned _A Complicated Kindness_ in class way back in 2010! It's more like canonical homework now
Her books with important themes and resonate characters are now being read and taught in school. Yay!
What a great interview. Thank you both.
Can’t wait to read Fight Night, I know it will be my new favourite! Miriam Toews is a brilliant writer whose heart and humour shines in all her work - love her! 💗
Excellent interview. We are reviewing Fight Night tonight in my bookclub. I loved it
thank you for this…
really great interview
Love this woman's writing style. We have a lot in common. I learned how to drive in an old 1967 Dodge van, 3 speed on the column, no power anything. Mom had burned out the clutch. Ba-bump-ba-bump--ba-bump.....and that awful metallic grinding noise. When I finally got a 4 speed standard VW Bug it was like riding a cloud by comparison. Please keep writing, Miriam!
I love the description she gives, in writing you try to convey your own feelings as a human being. If we end up with A.I. writers the art of it will suffer. How would an AI convey the experience of being human? All art tries to give the viewer an experience of emotion.
Looking forward to this read! Congrats on Giller long list
What do you figure is going on with the footage?
Everytime I listen to Tom Power I miss Jian Ghomashi. Sorry Tom...Jian is irreplaceable
