All other fathers, even our own biological fathers, are imitation fathers, because God is the true Father who begets children in a way that only He, as God, can. Christ was focusing on them following hypocrites who didn't practice what they preached. They didn't recognize the Messiah when He was standing before them and they were supposed to be leading people. They were leading them away from Christ! Paul called Timothy his son and Paul was his spiritual father. He said you do not have many fathers, literally. Don't let something so petty make you miss John 6 where Christ literally calls us to eat His flesh and drink His blood, or we'll have no life in us. The Protestants are sorely missing spiritual fatherhood. Confessing to God in front of someone who holds you accountable is also needed badly. Sin is rampant in this world and sin drives away the Holy Spirit. St. John Chrysostom said the Church is a Hospital for Sinners. Having a spiritual father who actually walks the walk, who feeds you the Eucharist and the true Word is what can heal us! God gave us physical fathers and he gives us Spiritual fathers and mothers.

The ONE AND ONLY way is through Jesus , recognizing his ultimate sacrifice, death on the cross for the sins of all humanity , that he rose on the 3rd day, admit to Him that you are sinner, ask for forgiveness and accept Him as your Lord and Savior - following His path and will for your life . I went to an Antiochian Orthodox Church for the first time today for the Sunday liturgy. It was also the first time I've been inside of any church in over a decade. It was a beautiful experience. Even though I delayed in going because I felt, to be honest, intimidated by the rich history and tradition of the Church, Father Spyridon had encouraged me in a comment a couple months back to set all of that aside and go - and I'm so glad that I did. The Father there was so warm, intelligent, down to earth, and inviting - and I could honestly say the same of everyone I met there. Although I walked into the Church an agnostic, I stayed afterwards and joined the catechism and when I left, walked out on path towards salvation in the Orthodox Church.

I pray that I'll be given the strength to follow through, for, admittedly, my life is nothing if not riddled with the graveyards of righteous intentions. Our Church is a true refuge from this wicked world. You can feel at home in the beautiful and glorious Church. You can feel at home even at the start of the journey. It is never too late. There are those who receive holy communion and Chrismation on their death bed so you are well ahead of schedule. Find your closest Orthodox Church and speak to a priest there for guidance and they will lead you along the right path. God bless

When you went to school, did you not call your teacher "Mr or Mrs or Sir or Ma'am?" And if you went to college, wasn't it proper to call the instructor "Professor or Doctor?" So, were you accused of worshipping the stethoscope or suit & tie? That would be absurd, would it not? So why would properly titling a priest "Father" or a leader of a church "Pastor" be worshipping the robe? That's convoluted thinking and quite conjecture on your part. @@jacksonrelaxin3425 He literally says call no man teacher and I don't see you being hung up about that. All other fathers, even our own biological fathers, are imitation fathers, because God is the true Father who begets children in a way that only He, as God, can. Christ was focusing on them following hypocrites who didn't practice what they preached. They didn't recognize the Messiah when He was standing before them and they were supposed to be leading people. They were leading them away from Christ! Paul called Timothy his son and Paul was his spiritual father. He said you do not have many fathers, literally. Don't let something so petty make you miss John 6 where Christ literally calls us to eat His flesh and drink His blood, or we'll have no life in us. The Protestants are sorely missing spiritual fatherhood. Confessing to God in front of someone who holds you accountable is also needed badly. Sin is rampant in this world and sin drives away the Holy Spirit. St. John Chrysostom said the Church is a Hospital for Sinners. Having a spiritual father who actually walks the walk, who feeds you the Eucharist and the true Word is what can heal us! God gave us physical fathers and he gives us Spiritual fathers and mothers.

The ONE AND ONLY way is through Jesus , recognizing his ultimate sacrifice, death on the cross for the sins of all humanity , that he rose on the 3rd day, admit to Him that you are sinner, ask for forgiveness and accept Him as your Lord and Savior - following His path and will for your life .
Romans 10:9-10 - “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I went to an Antiochian Orthodox Church for the first time today for the Sunday liturgy. It was also the first time I've been inside of any church in over a decade. It was a beautiful experience. Even though I delayed in going because I felt, to be honest, intimidated by the rich history and tradition of the Church, Father Spyridon had encouraged me in a comment a couple months back to set all of that aside and go - and I'm so glad that I did. The Father there was so warm, intelligent, down to earth, and inviting - and I could honestly say the same of everyone I met there. Although I walked into the Church an agnostic, I stayed afterwards and joined the catechism and when I left, walked out on path towards salvation in the Orthodox Church.

Pride makes one think they stand in Christ because of personal beliefs...there are millions who think they are saved, while being offically outside his Orthodox way.....pure mind pride and evil gamble!!

Father I've been an atheist since I was a little kid, only just recently, at my 22, I've started going back to Christianity, I just hope that it's not too late for what I've said and done so far.
It is never too late. There are those who receive holy communion and Chrismation on their death bed so you are well ahead of schedule. Find your closest Orthodox Church and speak to a priest there for guidance and they will lead you along the right path. God bless
