Sounds of Spring on a Farm

🍼🐐 This action-packed week at Dutch Hollow Acres marks the last of bottle feeding our adorable baby goats! We're moving into weaning, giving their second round of shots, trimming hooves, and the necessary, though less delightful, task of castrating the boys. 🌿🔧
We're busy fixing fences, mending hay net holes, and setting up rotational fencing for our goats to help clear the hedge row. 🛠️🐐 Plus, we've moved our Guinea hens to the outdoor coop and welcomed 60 ringneck pheasant chicks, raising them for release on behalf of NYS DEC. 🐦🌳
The farm is alive with the sounds of spring: horses and goats screaming in heat or from weaning, and the constant chatter of Guinea hens and baby chicks. 🐴🐣
To top it all off, I battled the flu while dealing with a yearling horse stuck in the fence-an unforgettable week of farm life challenges and the unstoppable rhythm of nature! 😷🐎
