Idk why people hate on the laurel hell cover 😭😭😭 ITS SO GOODDD and it stands out more than her other album covers.

I'm kinda into the cover for the new album, i agree that it is hard to read. feel like there's a reason her lyric videos have two sets of lyrics. i vibe with it tho
i would say that the new album cover looks like a mix of all the the other albums
7:07 Her song ‘Francis Forever’ was featured in the Adventure Time episode ‘Music Hole’ in January 2016. I remember looking the song up on UA-cam when I was 12 & discovering her. I feel her rise to fame definitely had a lot to do with that because Adventure Time is such a zeitgeist of a show. I remember listening the her music on UA-cam & like some her songs only had a few thousand views. I dunno why but I feel a lot of ppl don’t remember, maybe just don’t know or maybe just don’t bring it up when talking about how she got so big.
Same! Francis Forever was my first Mitski song because of Adventure Time! It's been a delight to see her growth since then.

HI! I just realised something about Mitski's new logo (the broken teacup) and wanted to share. I think the main concept about it is kintsugi, which is the Japanese art of repairing broken objects (often pottery) with precious metals, such as gold, silver, or platinum. It is also seen as a metaphor for life: it represents coming to the lowest point of your life, but finding a way to mend and heal in order to become a better version of yourself. If this theory is actually true, it could mean that each song shows a part of life (I don't know if it's specifically Mitski's, of anybody who listens to her music or the one of a made up character) and that the album (or her music in general) is a glue trying to keep every part together. Let me know if you agree or have any other thoughts regarding this topic, because I'm quite interested ☆

I really like the album covers! :] the new one is super cool too, i really like how she works to do what she wants, staying true to herself rather than what she thinks everyone else would prefer!
youtube recommended this video after i’ve had her new singles on repeat all morning and i’m glad it did!! i feel like mitski’s career is so interesting because it opens up all these discussions about the changing landscape of the music industry and fame and what consumers expect out of artists as well as what they project onto them. and all of these issues surround a person who seems to just want to keep their head down and make music. really nice to hear a thoughtful and level-headed breakdown of her career and loved your thoughts on her upcoming album!!
(and yeah as a bit of a mitski oldhead i was kinda wary of going to one of her concerts post-tiktok fame (and post-phone discourse) but all of the younger people i saw there seemed really earnest and well-meaning so i agree that all the weirdos have a curfew and live online lol)

My experience post tiktok fame was a girl saying "I haven't even listened to Laurel Hell yet" at the concert and I left the vibe was so off🙃
@@Kirbybaby i think any annoyance i would've had was overridden by my mounting concern for new concert-goers bc like 5 people passed out during the opener... i was telling kids not to lock their knees like i was spreading the gospel
After it came out now I can easily say this is making my top 3 albums over the year list if not my number 1
