Despite people's gripes with this game, take a minute to just _absorb_ this concept. Dracula, the Lord of Vampires, fights Death AND SATAN, God of all Demons, in the same damn game. The premise alone is unreal.
I understand, but it's sad they made Satan a coward if he had to posses his son and not fight him himself. I can understand if he fought him, and lost then possessed Alucard for a final resort, but this seemed a tad lazy.
supernoob3455 He's the Devil, he's supposed to use underhanded tactics and besides the point, Gabriel beat him as a HUMAN, of course he'll use everything at his disposal.
The battle wasn't the showdown between The Prince of Darkness and The Morning Star we deserved, but this theme was so damn worthy of it, it's as grand and epic as it should be.
Gabriel made it clear he chose to be evil so he can strengthen mankind and keep the Lord of Death and the Lord of Hell in check with his powers. Ultimate act of sacrifice for a hero. Condemned himself in an eternity of darkness that he doesn't wish to commit but will commit to keep greater evil at bay.
BrotherChaplain we'll besides the whole Phrophecy basically stating 'Hewhomsoever defeats the Lords of Shadow must sit upon the throne as The Prince of Darkness' giving further detail, you nailed down Gabriel's actions as Dracula (though he takes his payment for this act as the multitude of people he kills/feeds on, and hunting down humanity). Though Gabriel completed his self-appointed mission once Zobek and Satan died by his hands. I wonder what he is going to do next (enjoy the greatness that is pizza! there is a pizza shop across the street where he exits the cathedral in the beggining of the game in modern times.)
Satan's Final Form is a bit stupid, but honestly, when I went into the game originally, I was hoping for the final boss to be Zobek, a Belmont or even Alucard (which if you know, does happen). I personally don't mind the final boss because SPOILER Alucard is an absolute PAIN if you don't concentrate on dodging and your Mist Form. It's also a battle that is sort of at the heart of the Castlevania series. You've always got Belmonts and Alucard fighting Dracula and even if I did want to fight Satan again in his actual form, I did enjoy the duel with Alucard. Of course I would have preferred either Zobek (guy who killed Marie), a Belmont (destined to hunt you for all eternity) or actual Alucard to be the final boss.
Arisen Hemloc first what final form ? he looks more badass then in the first game is not stupid at all imo and second Zobek didn't kill Marie it was Gab himself under the influance of the mask and this was and alternate univers you know they don't need to fallow averything from the old timeline like the same old belmont vs dracula in all games and they prety much tell you Satan will be the main enemy since the epilogue of the first atleast you do fight a belmont/s and you do fight your own son and kiking his ass i love the revers roles here is not the pussy ass drac that gets beaten by AVERYONE in the world insteed you have this godly drac and chou bubble gum and kick ass but alucard is very powerfull as well play the dlc with him or mof hd and zobek its good atleast he is the right before the final boss enemy with it is very much in traditon with cv death was always before the final boss
I saw the ending building up to one of two things. Number one: Dracula, Alucard and Zobek all team up to fight Satan, but near the end, Zobek double crosses you yet again all the while absorbing the power of satan becoming stronger than he ever was, with this starts the final battle between Dracula and Zobek with Alucard as a helper in the situation. Number two: With Dracula defeating Zobek, Dracula and Alurcard go forth and fight satan together as father and son, They fight his leviathan and win, as it falls to the planet below, they fight Satan on the carcass as it falls, before he falls, he absorbs the remaining life energy of the leviathan merging into it's flesh and blood becoming a monster stronger than he currently is being in the mortal plan, hence starts another fight between you and Satan. As he is defeated Alucard being exhausted as he is faints or is knocked out by a weakened Satan. In that weakened state of being and how powerful Alucard is, Satan possesses Alucard for the finale of the fight, but as you fight, because Satan is Exhausted and weakened from the fight he can't control Alucard for very long, hence forcing you to heal your son with your own health, but you also know he'll resort to trying to repossess him, and then insert the ending of LoS2 here.
@@Kobalt_Rax_the_one The final boss is Alucard possessed by Satan The power displayed on the fight isn't Alucard's but actually Satan's own ink, smoke and hellfire
The first game had their fight as a desperate gamble between good and evil, with good ultimately winning and becoming the very evil he swore to destroy. This one, though, this is about old enemies rising once again to meet at full strength. There's no desperation. Just a mad scramble to viciously kill their opponent.
Satan: *Hides inside of alucard like a pansy* Dracula: "You think hiding inside of my son is going to stop me?!?! BAHAHA!!!! WE BOTH WANT TO DIE YOU MORON!!" *Proceeds to pwn the living shit out of satancard* Satan after the battle: "I know you...GABRIEL BELMONT! you won't kill your own son to stop me!"
they made satan weak as hell just like in the 1st game man i thought satan was gonna be much more tougher, epic and challenging final boss fight and also i was expecting satan to fight in his true form but it turns out to be a crappy final boss alucard possessed by satan is the final boss
SPOILERS Actually, I find the final battle pretty demanding. It requires REALLY quick decisions and forces us to utilize many abilities. Until this fight I was never using Mist Form during any other fight :P But I must agree with your second point. After beating Satan in Alucard's body, I was expecting some next fight with Satan HIMSELF. But instead, I received really crappy and open ending.
Regarding the final boss, I liked the fight itself gameplay wise, however I do feel that it felt more like a part of boss rather than it's own fight. e.g. you fight Satan physically first, but then when he gets weaker, then he possesses Alucard. That would have been better imo. Also, although I liked LoS2, I was quite disappointed with Satan. I mean his entrance was amazing (I didn't expect him to rip that guy's face off 0___o) as well as his new look which is easily superior to his LoS1 one. However why did he need to possess Alucard at all when he was completely fine and how come he can easily get stabbed by Dracula yet the Golgoth Guards can kill Dracula in two hits as well as be unaffected by his attacks!?
+alabzam Brah! The game overall made no damn sense. I mean, absolutely none. I can't tell you how excited I was for this game only to be disappointed. The first game was amazing and made me extremely emotional at the end. You know what this game was? An assimilation of their laughter and feces on disc. I totes wasn't expecting Satan to rip off that dude's face, too. Not a blood and gore kind of guy, but it was very well done. And the fool deserved it. Hated him. XD
There was a ton of shit in this game that had no business being there but one of the most annoying flaws this game had is how its combat (particularly the enemies) was less balanced than in the first game. With a tug of war combat system that rewards you for playing well for a sustained period of time, it makes no sense to have so many enemies that can just shoot you from where you can't even see them and ruin your "streak". Combat was easily the worst returning mechanic in LoS2 to the point where it went from being exhilirating fun to being tedious at best. I get that future setting = guns but those enemies were poorly thought out. and that story...oh god what a let down. I really wanted those characters to get a dignified ending that made sense but oh well. #JuliusBelmontGate Are there any articles that bring to clarity what exactly happened on the development end of this game that made the "finished" product such a proverbial precipe?
Also to give a more topical reply; the final battle in LoS1 thoroughly defecates on this fight and Satan's personality and voice were superior in LoS1 as well, though LoS2 Satan looks fucking amazing and very intimidating. I really hate that his personality was so different from who he was in the first game ; he lost all his charm.
Dracula lord of all vampires vs satan God of Evil. Some may say its unreal but I say ITS ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!! now this is a fight worth watching again and again.........and AGAIN!.
supernoob3455 yea like dragon vs dragon literally , an epic ass fighty that would have shaked the entire city and go maybe all the way to the orbit and back to the city with some damage to it , that is what o had dreamed for this game's final battle , true what we got was not that bad at all but could have been much better thast for sure with other things in the game as well but we still got and dracula game were you play a badass and very powerful Drac kicking ass and chou bubble gum lol , they actually wanted for Satan to have his own dragon form but they scraped that idee and prob was replaced with the Leviathan

The history of this game (CLOS & CLOS2) has a lot of theological references and/or situations that make the history deeper than any other Castlevania.
Edrick Grullon in the classicvania lore, dracula is supposed to be god's dark opposite, the god of evil and darkness, so it's nice to see that they focus extensively on this element in the game, where they do their level best to make drac almost seem like a deity who's unaware of his true power.
Dracula fights Satan on a falling meat corpse of a leviathan creature in the stratosphere minutes before the Sun rises for the right to rule the world. I loved the game and all, I just wish we could have fought Satan in his original form instead of Alucard.
Same and wish Alucard fight together with Dracula. If they want him to get possessed then atleast make it boss phase 2. They did phase 2 boss battles in the first one so i dont understand why that they cant do it in this game
but you do fight him he is just using alucard as a shield basically alucard doesnt fight the way he is doing in the final boss, those are all satan's moves
I prefer the one from the one, seriously satan in CLOS2 is a shit: his patern are easly predictible, he does most of the time unblockable attack, making the fight easier because you stay far from here most of the time. and once you have "wirlwind" you make yourself full-life on it in 3 second. I finished it in hardmode so thrust me it's shit.
Alexandru Timofte That's not it, i love the first LoS, but the second one is kinda off. The story is kinda rushed (i like Dracula's interaction with his family tho'), items become less useful since you already too overpowered and what's up with that ending?
I beated los1 on nightmare and it was epic playing this game on hard or nightmare is very good way to enjoy the game but I find los1 better in term of Boss fights and stage variety
I know they won't put classic music in but that's what I'm saying why not?? It is castlevania after all and the music is part of what makes it a great series. This had a great sound track but there should be more classic themes in it.
"Beginning" is used regularly as a motif in LOS1, particularly in Final Confrontation, and it appears again here, in this very song. There's also "The Waterfalls" and "In the Castle" from SCIV, "Nothing to Lose," "Password," "Tragic Prince," and more, including a fully orchestral rendition of the death jingle from CVI. I do agree in that I wish there were more or, at least, have the ones that ARE there be a little more obvious, but I still think it's really cool how Oscar managed to re-contextualize older themes and give lesser known pieces some time in the spotlight.
Satan's fight is... dissapointing, The first one had that omnious tone that leaves you craving for more, and you espect a fight as grandiose as the one against Death and in the end is just Alucard not Satan whom you fight. Dante's inferno does a better job at giving you the chance to kick the devil's ass.
Please tell if I’m wrong. Why is it that out of all the fantasy worlds I would imagine the castlevania franchise to take place in, they would happen in Europe in the medieval times, with Christianity involved?
Because it does take place during that time. Dracula's beef with mankind is because they burned his wife at the stake on the assumption that she was a witch.
you call yourself a fan? the original games take place in europe and theres is christianity involved, remember the beginning of castlevania 3? with trevor praying in front of a giant cross?
SuperArppis Maybe you say that because you don't know the three soundtracks (that part is from LoS) I tend to agree that the best part is the end (the resolution), but by no means the rest is "mediocre" If you haven't heard all the soundtrack, I'd recommend at least hear "Final confrontation", "Final fight" and then "Satan". In that specific order.
1st_Luis Oh, I've heard them all. :) And I'm pessifically talking about this soundtrack. It is rather medicore music that happens before the very end of the track. There is like... nothing happening in the track before the end. It's all very samey and just playing it on same level.
HL5IHarrier It's very forgetable for me. For most parts. So yeah, it's medicore to me. I'm glad you enjoy it thou. First game had more better consistent soundtrack with memmorable melodies thou.
It’s strange, but Oscar Araujo did a great job that make me feel both are equally fantastic, the Final Confrontation make me feel the fear of Satan, while Satan make me enjoy and imagine the fear and deadly of the battle between two demons, I don’t think it’s medicore, both are great with different view and taste of Gabriel and Satan rivalry
Only lyric that everyone needs to know in this theme is "Castlevania" haha it's a nice nod to beginning but they missed a trick by not putting more classic music in this game... Why the small section of classic music why not do a full classical rendition of a classic theme such as beginning, bloody tears, lost painting, wicked child, room of close associates the list is endless. What's other peoples thoughts on this?? Do you think they will add classic music to the rumoured DLC?
sorry no this was a reboot a new vision of cv you shoud alredy know by now that they won't put to much old cv music exp the metroidvania ones like sofnt btw i heard iga might come back
I thought everything about this game was fantastic with the exception of the story. Sadly, it was that one thing that ruined the game for me. I can't help but feel that there were a lot of missed opportunities with the story. The final battle was severely disappointing and the ending, if you can even call it an ending, resolved practically nothing, in my opinion.
wareagle884 i think all of the los games are very good i ntheir own right i like them almost equally lets be serios the only bad thing was the final boss battle and the ending overall the stroy is prety good yes i also wish that in some parts could have been done better i also wanted the game to be more epic in every way but we all want more then it is given to us and wen is not like how we wanted we say the story gameplay etc suks and all of that still way batter story then twilight lol and much batter story then old cv games way batter imo
Now I haven't played LOS 2 but the first games final boss was pretty damn easy (except for those fucking rings) considering you had infinite light and dark magic and using them at the correct times heals you massively then again I played on Normal so maybe things change on higher difficulties.
Despite people's gripes with this game, take a minute to just _absorb_ this concept. Dracula, the Lord of Vampires, fights Death AND SATAN, God of all Demons, in the same damn game. The premise alone is unreal.

Just beat the first game can't wait to kick this guys ass (and get revenge for all the trouble I had on those fucking rings) for a second time.
Dam loves tieners with blues
The only thing that saved this game is the environment design and absolutely stunning soundtrack
Alexandru Timofte That's not it, i love the first LoS, but the second one is kinda off. The story is kinda rushed (i like Dracula's interaction with his family tho'), items become less useful since you already too overpowered and what's up with that ending?
Daniel Tanoeihusada I think the second is better, overall. It just a matter of personal taste, don't you think?
Daniel Tanoeihusada A beat'em all character gets a happy ending ? IMPOSSIBRU !
Dont forget the voice acting!!! Robert Carlyle was excellent!
And the combat as well

I beated los1 on nightmare and it was epic playing this game on hard or nightmare is very good way to enjoy the game but I find los1 better in term of Boss fights and stage variety
yeah and the enemy variety in the second game is lacking but overall i like all three of the games
Play this while fighting Miraak in Skyrim

I know they won't put classic music in but that's what I'm saying why not?? It is castlevania after all and the music is part of what makes it a great series. This had a great sound track but there should be more classic themes in it.
Yep, tragic prince plays during part of the inner dracula boss fight, and there are parts of dance of illusions hidden within hunter and prey.
@crimson arts what tunes have hidden elements of the classic games music besides this one? Just so I can listen out for them?
anybody knows The chorus in this theme??? it's For a homework in my college
Lo mejor del juego, esta canción en la pelea final.... De ahí el juego turro
Without the rat sigil parts this Game could be pretty good

What the fuck with that dislikes?!!
Kinda sad the best part of this song, is a callback to another song entirely (5:21).
sad or nostalgic? I love how this soundtrack mirrors the 1st game + they are still different
can you please specify which song you mean ?
@@abdallahsalem8572 Beginning from Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse
Omg please remake it to the ps4 please o god please for the sake of dracul come to the ps4
Rachel vs Karianna Solomon Cain
Satan's fight is... dissapointing, The first one had that omnious tone that leaves you craving for more, and you espect a fight as grandiose as the one against Death and in the end is just Alucard not Satan whom you fight. Dante's inferno does a better job at giving you the chance to kick the devil's ass.
he possesed alucard but all the attacks he does are his own not alucard's he is even using a different sword
I'm proud my country made LOS
Germany ?
@@cyrusiithegreat2824 the developers and the composer are Spaniards
@@Vidy4. ah yes, i thought they're from Germany in First time.
It's a shame that the best bits of this track are in the very last minute. You have to get trough medicore soundtrack, just to get to juicy bits.
SuperArppis Maybe you say that because you don't know the three soundtracks (that part is from LoS)
I tend to agree that the best part is the end (the resolution), but by no means the rest is "mediocre"
If you haven't heard all the soundtrack, I'd recommend at least hear "Final confrontation", "Final fight" and then "Satan". In that specific order.
1st_Luis
Oh, I've heard them all. :)
And I'm pessifically talking about this soundtrack. It is rather medicore music that happens before the very end of the track. There is like... nothing happening in the track before the end. It's all very samey and just playing it on same level.
HL5IHarrier
It's very forgetable for me.
That's most of this soundtrack, to be honest

I got very disapointed with the final battle, too easy compared to the 1st LoS. The 1st Final Battle's is much more exciting than this one.
Now I haven't played LOS 2 but the first games final boss was pretty damn easy (except for those fucking rings) considering you had infinite light and dark magic and using them at the correct times heals you massively then again I played on Normal so maybe things change on higher difficulties.
