Leslie--- I 've been watching you for years and your wit and humor have kept me smiling and laughing right loud every day a post shows up on You Tube here in Homer AK. I am slightly disabled from rheumatoid arthritis but am determined to keep on knitting. Making a Mitered squares blanket for my son and his family and its not near done but have been working on it for 3 years...Im so SLOW!!! Take care of yourself...Keep on showing up on my laptop (;'>)

Decided to do a scrappy, striped, seed stitch cowl neck sweater from a pattern I love in 70s. Went looking for all the yarn, found 2 unfinished sweaters, one don't need the pattern as in home stretch of last sleeve but none of the 5greens match it. The other is alpaca knit as solid as pea coat and needle is pulled out,was only to arm holes. I searching found the sharpening stone with yarn, jeans of all sizes from last 15 years,3 hooded sweatshirt,2have never seen before, piles of fabric and the summer blankets wanted 4yrs ago. Have decided need only underwear the rest of my life. Is down to 85 at 1930 here and now must clear discoveries from the bed before collapse. The adventures of craft hoard!!

I love the poncho. The colors make me smile. It’s so lovely to wear in the winter when it starts to get dreary. The colors can lift one’s spirits.

Thanks for the shout out Lesley. The poncho almost qualifies for 2 entries but what a brilliant way to use up all that yarn. I made a shorter poncho last winter and wore it so much I definitely need to make another one, maybe even crochet one 🤔
I have some Forest Aran too and a couple of viewers suggested that knitted on a traditional aran it grew a lot and they had treated it more like a DK and it behaved better and didn't stretch as much. Take care xx

Hello Pat. Thanks so much for being here - you are much appreciated. I find that I am knowing more and more knitters in MD - I must try to get to Maryland Sheep and Wool one year.
Thanks for your very kind words - I am glad that we can chuckle together.
      Take very good care xx

Hello Lesley, congratulations to the winners. I like your poncho, I have a knitted one that I wear in bed, (sitting up knitting of course). They do keep the shoulders warm. He himself should have a section of ‘Yarn shops to visit’, he is a travelling yarn argent. Bless him.🧶🧦🐕

      Hi Anna.
I have thought about a bed cape/poncho, but I rarely knit in bed. I wish I could say that I never sleep in my armchair, too, but we know that's a lie!
I will pass your suggestion to Himself, but don't be surprised if he doesn't go for it!
      Thanks and take care

I’m so pleased you explained your poncho/cape as it now makes perfect sense! It is going to be so cosy for you and Heidi to snuggle in! Obviously not while her Daddy is home though! You showed some lovely yarns and I particularly love the aqua and rust colourway! Lovely podcast today Lesley so thank you very much. Take care and enjoy the summer which I think they said might be on Wednesday 🤣

Yes, we had a lovely summer...last week. Back in jeans again now.
Aqua and rust... yep, that reminds me a an old Vauxhall Astra,,,,
Thanks, as always, for being here and take care.

Thanks for another crafty episode, as always!! I like your new spin in the “sea Glass”. And that yarn Himself got you with the wonderful softness should surely become a cowl! Beautiful makes, I like how the poncho turned out and so clever of you to use the cable cross areas for your button holes. That’s a tip to remember! My daughter and I are attempting a crochet jacket, actually, she is crocheting, I am advising….. (oh, Mom!).. great to see you, and will catch you next time.

    • @NotQuiteEnoughYarn

Forgot to say - it wasn't the cable crosses that became the button holes - it's just the gaps between the long stitches - very useful in crochet xx

I love all your makes, you make me want to try new patterns. I’m still nervous to try different knitting stitches, but when I see the things you make I want to try the harder patterns. I really want to make a cardigan for myself. I think I’ll look into the pattern you shared. Have a great week.

      Hi Mary
It's a straightforward pattern, so shouldn't cause you any fears.
And if you don't like it? It's only yarn - it can be ripped back!
Thanks so much and take care xx

Hi Lesley. Hope you're well. We were away again at the weekend. Finally got around to watching, just realised I haven't watched the vlog.
Two consecutive weekends away is rather tough. I'm paying for it now. I've got a couple of things that would fit into the modification mal. A cowl that I made from scratch and an amigurumi mouse made by merging a panda and a dachshund! X

Wow! How exciting to win a pattern prize! I will contact you via Ravelry. I loved the segment with Heidi on your lap. Our cat, Scarlett, does that all the time. She jumps onto my lap when it is most inconvenient and settles in for a purr!

Another very enjoyable episode Lesley as I work on a lace pattern, a wip since 2017, which I resurrected this morn, and on which I had completely forgotten I had done so much work on. Has dawned on me now that I may get it finished to enter into your modification MAL. Can’t rem now what you said about wips, but going to persevere anyway and see how it goes xx

Hi Muireann - the rule on WiPs was that they couldn't be started before Christmas Eve last year (sorry). But how exciting to to find a wip that's a good way through. I hope you're enjoying the project.

Hello Lesley! I have just found your podcast, just my cuppa, thank you. I’m always having to modify for some reason or another but that’s the beauty of our craft isn’t it? I’ve just started vlogging so will maybe have a look back and see if I’ve done anything recently to join in. I even think I have something for Anne’s one too! Thank you for another great podcast! I love the poncho/cape. It looks fantastic on you. I especially like how the varigated color at the bottom kind of looks like a lace border from a distance.
I live in a part of the world that also has a "North Berwick," but we pronounce it burr-wick. I'm hoping to visit your part of the world someday and will have to rember it's different there so I don't make a fool of myself. (We're heathens. We also have a "Calais" that is pronounced cal-ess. 😂)

    • @NotQuiteEnoughYarn
      @NotQuiteEnoughYarn День тому

Hi. Don't worry - most British people can't do all of the pronunciations - eg Belvoir in Derbyshire should be said as "Beaver in Darbysheer". We haven't got a chance - too many regional variations.
Thanks so much and take good care xx
