I understand this master difficulty is supposed to be hard but jesus christ the difference between Disciple and Master on these bosses is fucking insane. I go from barely ever dying to a single boss to finding it straight up impossible to avoid attacks on this difficulty. The problem is I don't think the high/low avoid mechanic is intuitive or works very well, maybe I simply don't possess the reaction time to ever master it, but I think there should be probably 1 avoid direction but with tighter timing. It would still be challenging but not borderline impossible for everyone who doesn't have top tier hand eye and reaction speed
I understand the frustration, and i mostly agree. it’s the change of mechanic i don’t agree with. I think that if we just slow the sweeps down a tad bit more or give them an indicator and audio cue that they are attacking low like if they light up blue, just as how the grab/posture-breaking-attacks lights up orange with their specific audio cue. because if you turn the avoid mechanic into just one button it’s essentially just a safer parry button, if you don’t know what the opponent is gonna throw next, you parry, if you have some idea, you avoid. that is the defensive formula in this game that works wonders for sifus combat changing it to what you suggested would just be “avoid everything”.
If the lows were a different color then everything would be fine. It's such a simple fix and I don't know why they thought random lows were a good idea
damn, thank you for this! i didn't even know you could practice against bosses. i tried again after practising for 30 minutes and got my highest score ever on the squats and absolutely demolished fajar at my first try! the explanation was immensely helpful
The issue with trying to parry his unblockable 3rd combo attack is that if you mis-time it and he does the mid kick, it’s going to absolutely wreck your structure and health. I instead try to dodge backwards which lets you get out of the attack range no matter if it’s high or low
That mid unblockable truly is the worse thing in the world and i myself struggle with the timing sometimes 😣 For me, it is actually more problematic in his second phase
I love how it felt a bit like you didn't exactly write a script for this video but that you just knew what you wanted to say, you explained everything really well and it came across so much more genuine, it feels like there's a big difference between you being someone who's extremely good at video games and likes making videos about them and a 'UA-camr' or whatever & I appreciate that so much, you're awesome
I figured out that you have to parry everything because it's not reasonable to consistently react to the sweep. I don't know if the developers actually knew and cared that the sweep wasn't reactable, or they simply made Fajar completely out of control and expected players to figure out a solution. This nonsense is like trying to block Millia in Guilty Gear.
Actually It easier to react to the sweep since you know he almost always goes for an unblockable after the two normal hits. It is about timing but It is doable However, if you know for a fact that he will sweep, you can also try to use snap kick and go over it (the timing is even trickier 😮💨) But you definitely dont want to play the guessing game with Fajar
@@Djisso I mean after the 2 hits, reacting whether it will be low or mid. You can dodge away entirely, but that's not always possible with all the plants everywhere.
Yeah I just resorted to parrying everything. A bit challenging to react to which attack comes next since it can mess up my parry timing, but that’s as simple as it gets for me.
yeah I can't tell if it's a bad mechanic or if I'm just not built for this game but I've played this for about 20 hours and I don't think i've successfully avoided/stepped over a sweep 1 single time, I just have to parry or block it, but I always end up getting caught in no mans land between avoiding and parrying and get hit with big combos
@griglog1309 yes but I'm talking about his style of fighting. He uses alot of kicks and has a devastating jumping attack that both use. They both have an annoying ass sweep attack as well.
My strat was parry the first two strikes he does, then react to the 3rd one, either low or high. It is reactable you just have to really watch him. Just dodge it and punish. And then he's other combo he does is really easy to dodge. So really the whole fight for me is just reacting to that 3rd powerful strike, and dodging it.
Just spared Master Fajar after 4 days, can't imagine what's next. If you're doing the same thing, take 1 structure regain and 2 parry impact perks. Fajar is more likely to do a roundhouse breaker after the starting double kick move, which is, apart from backhanding his blade jump/double kick, the only window for you to punish him. So what I did was parry the first move (blade jump, double kick) and then try to dodge other moves which took some practice. Instead of avoiding it, which is difficult, it's always better to parry/block his sweep breaker because if it lands it's not as severe of a loss unlike the rounhouse, when he kicks you into a spawned bamboo tree and combos again. If you're low on structure, dodge his intro move instead of parrying. Also using a bamboo stick with light/heavy attacks on the second phase arena is preferable because blunt weapons deal more structure damage.
Whew I believe someone already mentioned that before. I did try to put that strat to the test and I figured it was adding another layer of difficulty to the fight lol. It might just be me though
I know this sounds cheesy but if some of you guys have a slow brain like mine to identify what move he does, try using focus(not focus attack, just hold the focus button) so you have time to identify the attack animation he's doing. I tried it and it was really reliable xD
No waaay 😭 So you would press the focus button every single time ? Nah thats just a separate skill altogether. And if it works for you, you actually have Big Brain Energy
I’m in full agreement with the jumping combos (just interrupt him with something), however I have a different strategy for the double kick combos. Assuming I haven’t been aggressive and allowed him to start his combo. I just avoid both kicks, then stand block/parry a sweep or roundhouse kick and wait for the mid structure break kick and avoid that, then punish. It’s perhaps not the fastest way to defeat him, but it’s very reliable. Once you get a hang of the timings though you can start utilizing some more aggressive moves like the back fist to open him up before combos. I have two main gripes with how they changed him for master; 1) They removed the parry interruption on the horizontal knife attacks, with them being in the middle of a combo I think it would have been fine to allow a parry punish on one or both of them. 2) In his second phase he ends with a sweep about 60-75% of the time, and they aren’t punishable. These two issues just compound to create a fairly slow whittling down of his health/structure, just waiting for the right move set to be able to actually punish. You can be aggressive, but it’s fairly high risk to do so. Overall though I do think the changes were an improvement over his move set in Disciple.
You can also interrupt his jump attack in second fase with a bamboo stick, by simply using light attack. Usefull if you don't have a backfist. And it faster to release too. Well i can say that developers made training mode much more popular. I actually have to train with each boss before i actualy go to them. My record so far 1 death on fajar and 45 years the whole game on master. Still pathetic but this is better than 72...
Lol 45 isn’t pathetic when you consider that most people still cant get past Kuroki. So i think in no time you will make it under 25 And i agree with training mode being a must now more than ever. Before you could just go in and Beat the bosses but now you will get knocked down if you don’t know the way they fight
Jafar!!! I mean, Fajar!!! This man has combobulated me so many times I can't speak straight. Anything to serve this man a gourmet knuckle sandwich with extra salt, I'm in. 🤣
I dont know if its changed since this video came out or if i just had two strings blend into one, but he regularly uses two sweeps in a combo on me. Right now I'm utterly lost on this dude 😎
I found a way thats working for me for his 2nd phase mixups. Dodge first hits (kicks or slashes, recover structure for whats coming next) and press block. Avoid only leg super kick on reaction, just block other stuff. He will eat combo or jump back, repeat if kicks, interrupt with backfist if jump
This video is gold. I just beat (spared) Fajar and cleared Squats in my first blind playthough of the game on Master at Age 23 hitting all 3 shrines. Your advice to look out for high kicks after a sweep was invaluable to perfectly parrying him. Thanks.
For some reason he can stop hitting you out of nowhere in the newest update. And every time it happens, it just throw me off completely Eventually you get better at countering his 50/50 but the bastard can still catch you off guard 😮💨
This game is officially causing me more stress than it is fun, I feel like the parrying system is horrible and it never lets you know if it worked or not. Not to mention I don't understand how you're able to keep hitting him when I can only hit him once and then he just blocks everything after.
The unblockables are the hardest thing to deal with in the game. And the fact that he has two of those is very problematic. You can try dashing away from the unblockable if you have a hard time parrying it. But just keep in mind that it is very delayed attack and blocking too soon will make you miss the parry When it comes to hitting him once, certain moves like Crotch punch or backfist are good against him. If you are able to punish him 3 times in a row, you will be able to stun him. But you dont want to use a skill like chasing strikes to punish him because he will most likely block all of your moves
@@DjissoSo in his first phase are you trying to parry most of his moves or just certain ones? That's where I think I get so confused, there's just so many things you have to worry about(parry, dodge, block). When I try to block him he just breaks through my structure right away, I kind of understand his moves a little more now other than when he randomly does the sweep. Also, can the sweep be parried?
Everything he does can be parried. The problem is that if you keep parrying he will keep attacking you until your guard eventually breaks. That’s you need to parry some moves and dodge others I usually parry the unblockable (mid or low) and dodge/block every thing else. After a while you will be able to tell see when exactly you can dodge his attacks and punish him You really don’t want to take a guess and the fight relies on you being able to parry those unblockables
@@Djisso I really love this game but the boss fights just ruin it for me. Idk if I just suck but I feel like the parrying system is so unreliable and I don't really understand it. I don't have much trouble with normal guys because they're pretty easy but boss fights are just stupid and I feel like there's no learning them. I've already put 60 hours in and beat it at age 23 on disciple but idk if I want to put that much more time into this game just to get pissed off. Maybe I just need to accept I'm not a God and I'm not gonna beat it at 25 on Master lol
Nah you can’t give up just yet. I understand that the game require a lot of time to be fully mastered. Time you may not even have. And the bosses are really strong compared to their disciple counterpart (especialy Fajar and Yang) If you have no issue beating the normal enemies then all you have to do is focus on the bosses through the training mode if you can. Take them one at the time and get efficient at beating them. The way you decide to do so is up to you, provided you can successfully replicate the process It would take you around 20 minutes to complete a level (Squats-Sanctuary will take 10-12mn) All you have to do is go in training mode and Practice Fajar. You need to understand why your parrying is off and how to get familiar with the timing. And if you can’t rely on the parries, what alternative can you go for ? Dashing out of the way maybe ? Sifu is very free in the way it lets you approach a fight. And you dont need to be a God Gamer to make it happen. Just need proper training to get familiar with the bosses
If you have parry impact and can confidently parry, this fight can be really easy But parrying isn’t reliable when you want to punish the bosses as they see your structure turning red as an invitation break it 😆
Great tips. I managed to get as far as Kuroki before rage quitting and dropping the difficulty back to disciple. Honestly, I just wasn't having any fun. It feels like you have to cheat in order to beat the bosses. I'm totally fine with all the random grunts and mooks throughout the levels but the bosses are just cheap. I spend more time looking for ways to cheese them instead of learning how they operate. Because, you can't really learn how they move, not really. They're so random, erratic and fast, it feels completely hopeless and not fun, at all. I love so much about Sifu but SloClpa fumbled the boss fights, big time. I really hope they abandon bosses altogether for any upcoming project or spiritual sequel. They just don't know what they're doing in that regard. No offence.
I don't understand how all these people are able to beat him. Every time I watch someone fight fajar he seems far easier. For one, when they attack him, he is interruptible almost entirely. People can get four or five or more hits on him before he recovers. When I fight him, I am lucky to get one or two hits before he recovers. When fajar hits me , I can only block like two or three hits before he breaks my block. When I watch other people fight him, they can block his entire attack chain and still have half their block bar remaining. What gives? I don't understand why he is mechanically so much different. Also, why is it that his low sweep is practically instant? Every other attack it's possible to evade, but the low sweep is only available if I guess it's coming.
Could you please make a video on how to perform the pushback cancel? I only managed to do it twice accidentally and I keep struggling to get the right timing.
To be honest, ever since i have been playing this game, I kinda gave up on the idea of using the pushback cancel because i just could not get it to work I thought it was probably me but saw other people complaining about it too. But I can revisit that move and see if something changed about it
I read in Reddit that the description in that one is wrong: instead of just pushing the block button you have to input block + down to execute the move. I only tried it a few times, but it seems to do the trick.
Alright man im hopping on sifu right now to see what the update was Ill update u in a while Edit :So the enemies do feel a bit more aggressive but that isnt a problem
This boss just goes too far IMO. The only way to safely fight him is to deflect structure-breaking attacks, which is not something you're generally supposed to do. Before, you were fighting with complete freedom with a wide variety of viable options, but this boss takes that all away and forces you to do one of three things. Parry everything, parry some things, or just run away which is actually viable but rather boring.
Hey Milky From Malaysia ! The giveaway will take place this month but i dont know exactly when As i mentioned, i didn’t plan on doing it so soon and i am working on the videos as well

Nah Fajar is purposely trying to kill you again*
I wish he could talk, the trash talking would have been legendary
Very informative good vid🎉
very helpful video thanks!
man, funny how the addition of 50 50 lows throws me off. i can parry all in good timing but my weakness are my cankles.
For some reason he can stop hitting you out of nowhere in the newest update. And every time it happens, it just throw me off completely
Eventually you get better at countering his 50/50 but the bastard can still catch you off guard 😮💨
But just keep in mind that it is very delayed attack and blocking too soon will make you miss the parry
When it comes to hitting him once, certain moves like Crotch punch or backfist are good against him.
That’s you need to parry some moves and dodge others
I usually parry the unblockable (mid or low) and dodge/block every thing else. After a while you will be able to tell see when exactly you can dodge his attacks and punish him
You really don’t want to take a guess and the fight relies on you being able to parry those unblockables
And the bosses are really strong compared to their disciple counterpart (especialy Fajar and Yang)
If you have no issue beating the normal enemies then all you have to do is focus on the bosses through the training mode if you can. Take them one at the time and get efficient at beating them. The way you decide to do so is up to you, provided you can successfully replicate the process
It would take you around 20 minutes to complete a level (Squats-Sanctuary will take 10-12mn)
All you have to do is go in training mode and Practice Fajar.
Just need proper training to get familiar with the bosses
your videos are incredible. subscribed
Thaaaank you And Welcome to the channel 🤓
Thank god I only have Fajar 2 years of my life. Lord knows he was trying to take decades 😭
Decades ? That man wanted to take your whole life 😭
Hey love the content keep it up
Thank you 🥋
Yoo you hit 1k subs congrats
Thank you Jay !! last week was kinda Crazy 🥺
Those sweeps are deadly man
Wude never heard of it 🤣 that got me when you said that
🤣🤣🤣
People want to actually spare the guy
Why ??????
@@Djisso I wanna spare him because I want him to feel inferior to me and embarrassed
how to defeat fajar
charge attack to the face
That face cannot handle being charged at 😆
Actually…wait till you see Sean’s face 😕
It’s not that I can’t beat him, it’s that I can’t beat the squats at age 20 😅
Now you will.
Stronger, you Are.
The Mute, you will destroy.
In my first walkthrough I decided to play in master... terrible decition
Instant regret 🤣
But I respect your ballsiness
Bruhh same I just got level 4 age 72 I'm finna restart this foo fajar messed up everything
I've realized it's easier to just parry your ass off and find a opening
If you have parry impact and can confidently parry, this fight can be really easy
But parrying isn’t reliable when you want to punish the bosses as they see your structure turning red as an invitation break it 😆
@@Djisso yes parry impact is oh so useful
Thanks a lot!
what punish combo are you using? in my disciple playthrough i just used x->x->y or x->x->x->y but i wanna try sum new
This is great stuff
Thank You kind person
To be honest, ever since i have been playing this game, I kinda gave up on the idea of using the pushback cancel because i just could not get it to work
I thought it was probably me but saw other people complaining about it too. But I can revisit that move and see if something changed about it
I read in Reddit that the description in that one is wrong: instead of just pushing the block button you have to input block + down to execute the move. I only tried it a few times, but it seems to do the trick.
@@AMag00182 I read it too and tried it, but nothing happens
helpful stuff
Thank you
i just completed disciple with 0 deaths im scarec to be shi again lmao
Do you know how to unlock Fajar in training mode? I beat him but I can't change off the Gangsters NPC's.
Alright man im hopping on sifu right now to see what the update was
Ill update u in a while
Edit :So the enemies do feel a bit more aggressive but that isnt a problem
Oooh so it wasnt just me Then !
I noticed that too and i actually love it
If only they can Fix Sean now and make him the king he should be 😕
Wait, how did you get him into the training room ?
Just beat him at the age of 32 so I’m watching to learn how to do better
„Do better” - yang
Parries are your friend on this one as they are reliable
@@Djisso thanks bro legit just finished a drive to poland 4 christmas break I’m gonna spend some time being a tryhard 😎
Master 🙏🏻
This boss just goes too far IMO. The only way to safely fight him is to deflect structure-breaking attacks, which is not something you're generally supposed to do. Before, you were fighting with complete freedom with a wide variety of viable options, but this boss takes that all away and forces you to do one of three things. Parry everything, parry some things, or just run away which is actually viable but rather boring.
yo ill reaply ur measage from the last video here I'm from Malaysia and when r u gonna do the give away?
Hey Milky From Malaysia !
The giveaway will take place this month but i dont know exactly when
As i mentioned, i didn’t plan on doing it so soon and i am working on the videos as well
@@Djisso i was just wondering lol

Sending you energy 🥋
You can do it !!
I’m so angry I can’t beat him no matter what it’s been a week I just cant beat his phase 2 I think I’m going to uninstall the game
The 3rd boss is mad irritating
She is the one i am going to go over in the next Sifu academy video
Worst game ever for PS5, absolute junk trash. I'm 300000% sure of my reactions and the trash game still don't recognize my move as parry or evade so i take damage! Absolute trash game
It's not trash. You're trash at it.
Get good, or give up.
