    This is one of a selection of collaborative broadcasts that took place at Marrakech's Dar Al-Ma'mûn centre inside Hotel Fellah. Here we were blessed to couple Norwegian dub-techno producer Biosphere with local artist Maâlem Mohamed Kouyou and band. The results were nothing short of enchanting.

    I’m surprised by the negative critique in the comments. I think and feel this was executed beautifully. the dissonance and unfamiliarity is what biosphere is all about and they compliment each other in what I feel is very harmonious in that strange alien biosphere way. Love you biosphere. You are the truth!

    Sounds like its not there on purpose.

  • @liverawkstar
    @liverawkstar 9 років тому +2

    OK, love Biosphere, love modular synths, love ambient music..... and Iam an ambient techno artist, this to my ears sounds exactly like what happens when I work with normal musicians, they over play... this is a god damn train wreck, sadly,,, I really hate it

    • @woobilicious.
      @woobilicious. 9 років тому

      liverawkstar I think the biggest issue with this is the entire thing is it's micced poorly, if you listen to those first few songs in original form (Heat Leak, and People are Friends), there's a lot of detail, but this entire thing sounds like a muddy, undetailed messy.

    • @deepulse9752
      @deepulse9752 9 років тому +4

      i get your point.. i'm not trying to defend it 100% because i liked the project and idea, but i was there, live, and the atmosphere and fusion they created was really special. jjaoui, atay, guembri, kouyou, all the elements were there. Don't forget that the project wasn't meant for morroccans but to make people from outside morocco discover our beautiful culture :) the fact they just put those atmosphere behind it from biosphere and james holden is a proof of their respect to the gnaoua music and tradition, they didn't want to interfere with it, but just offer it a new perspective, deeper, stronger, stranger.. that was how i felt it, and still you didn't saw all the parts of the show :) but anyway, we should feel happy to host such an awesome event as boiler room, their coming to morocco, their introspection into our music traditions, those two hosts : Holden, Biosphere ambient geniuses who made the effort to honor our dear gnaoua music is something special that i enjoyed when i was there :) the live was cool, the artists were really kind and open. Gnaoua people were happy as well to the tribute they made them. Isn't it a good way to make our dear gnaoua known worldwide anyway ? :)
