I think this is a very solid deck builder but it does devolve a little if one side gets a lot of cards in the market early.
I was thinking what if it's just a bunch of your opponents cards? You can't really do anything then.
@@TheDownUnderGamer01You can attack them in the market row, as he described, which eliminates those cards and gives you a reward. It actually helps balance it a bit, but there is still a lot of luck involved that can sway the game early.
I've played the crap out of this game with some friends and coworkers. I think it's a beautifully done, simplistic, but also really unique deck builder. I hope they expand it a bit in the future.
I got really excited when I saw this, thinking it was fantasy flight's dead living card game called "Star Wars The Card Game". I loved that game :(
Legitimately the market attack mechanic is goated. Love that so much. If I was going to critique one thing, there are certain games I've had where we both amassed capital ships and the game took like an hour and a half
I play Fantasy Flight's Marvel Champions a lot. This game caught my eye and might give it a shot. I like deck building games. Marvel Champions is a Living Card Game and there's a lot of expansions. This looks great to pick up once.
As I look at this at a glance I'm immediately interested in cards that benefit from having the Force be with you. Sounds really interesting and different.

Deck building games are exciting - wish there were more one player ones lol then I guess that’s where video games come in
It's not quite a deck builder, but you may enjoy the solo game Maiden's Quest. It's the closest I've gotten to scratching that itch.
There's also Paperback Adventures. That game's pretty expensive, but there's an early access Steam adaptation with decent reception.

DC deckbuilding does have a solo version of their crisis mode. I highly recommend the game myself and the crisis mode has you trying to take down various villains and their evil plots so it feels very thematic if at times wacky.
I'm not usually one for deckbuilders (I like them fine, but I don't go out of my way to play them) but I'll have to give this one a look!
I wouldn't mind seeing Fantasy Flight use these same systems in a reskin without the Star Wars ip. Particularly the double sided market row cards. The closest thing that I've seen is the power rangers deckbuilder where villain cards (usually minions) can passively attack the hero player while they're on the row if they're not taken out by the hero or bought by the villain and vice versa.
I have used to play the TCG Star Wars from the mid to late 90s and still have tons of cards from that game and Xpacs lol
I played a Table Top Simulator version of this game with my friend, it was very well made. And yeah, I think the game is pretty great, I would totally get a copy of it to play with a friend. Also, no, I don't have a link for that mod, don't ask.
I really enjoy this game.
I do wish there was more to balance the luck of the draw...if the heart of the cards is with one player, then its super difficult for the opposing side to recover... i wonder if this function of the gameplay holds some relevance with the plot of the movies.

Why in the world is the empire side blue and the rebel side red, goes against the expected color coordination

okay so i'm not crazy, as someone who knows almost nothing about star wars, i still have the association of Empire Red and Rebel Blue so i definitely second-guessed myself like "am i...wrong in remembering this way?"
@@ProZD honestly I was interested in the game, but I don’t know if I’d be able to play if I had to constantly be reminded of it, taking me out of the gameplay
The Empire has never been red-themed... They were not necessarily blue - mostly just black & white, but the Rebel Alliance is definitely red themed. They shoot red lasers, their call signs in the final battle in Episode IV was Red, and the phoenix symbol of the rebellion is red.
@@algernonftw42 yeah, but the lightsaber colors are what people look to when seeing the alignment of the character, George Lucas said it himself in that blue/green is good and red is bad. I get that technically the empire never had a red color theme outside of the characters using red lightsabers, but it doesn’t really feel right you know

Hoth is one of the options, there are 10 for each side
Dantoone... that's where Leia told the empire the base was. Then they blew up Aldaran anyways. It was a whole thing.

@@alisson939 I imagine this'd get filtered out, but just in case it doesn't, It's not because of drama with Rev. ProZD wants a censored version of an anime which has grizzly scenes in it, and Sung Won is rightfully seen to be pro-censorship for such a request which is not a good thing, so he gets critisizm. And in response, Sung Won tried to play off his tweet like a joke when it clearly wasn't and then proceeds to block anyone who critisizes him for that tweet about censorship.
Seems people forgot about this within a week which seems about right on the internet, but it still makes ProZD seem insecure that he blocks people who rightfully critisizes him for a shit take. I personally will still watch ProZD's content since he's quite funny sometimes, but this take was really bad, and it deserves to be critisized.
