Agreed ...wish Boeing would bring it back...but only AFTER they get their other problems resolved. I always felt that the technology that went into the 787 Dreamliner, like the "flex wing', could have been incorporated into an updated version of the 757.
@@32SQUID Well I don't know what bcar's source is, but the quick AI answer is: "The Boeing 757 engines, typically either Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000 turbofan engines, generate between 36,600 and 43,500 pounds of thrust each, considered quite powerful for a commercial aircraft ..." But that may be totally off.
I love seeing the city... You took off on 9R-27L, I am under the 9/27 runways here in the western/NW suburbs when they use them for approach. The planes all turn in over our house and head to 9L, 9C or 9R. So it's a plane every 30 - 60 seconds and they all line up to the three, so sometimes we have races as they all line up for their assigned runway.
I wonder if that was the same United 757-200 that I flew on from John Wayne to O’Hare back in 1996? I was 15 at the time and thought it was such a cool plane. I sat right over the engine like in this video, but on the left side of the plane. This brought back some cool memories. 😀
If you flew on United in 1996, then definitely not. All of legacy United’s P&W powered 757-200s have long since been retired. Approximately 30 of them were acquired by Fed Ex and converted into freighters. The airplane in this video is a legacy Continental Airlines aircraft that came over to United with the 2010 merger.
Since they took off from 9R and hadn’t made any noticeable turn from an easterly heading, I’d guess Newark, considering that that’s a major United hub.
The 757 is the Ferrari of aircraft.😊
ORD to ATL last year in a 757. Clocked 590 mph with a 30 mph tailwind.

I’ve also heard it as the Giraffe or the Slimmy.

I have fear of flying and will almost certainly never experience this in real life, but it was fascinating to me nonetheless.
13:40 takeoff
Destination?
Nice! What seat is this?
Thank you for the beautiful video.
Takeoff is at 13:25.
where does this flight arrive at?
Somewhere east of Chicago….if I had to guess….New York or New Jersey…..

Wish UA operated the 757 to DFW like before. All we get are dinky A319s.

I haven't been on a plane in years.
Poor you start save
@nevillemarshon8158 huh?
Same airport where AA Flight 191 crashed back in 1979. R.I.P to everyone on board that flight and the workers in the hanger where the plane crashed 🕊🙏
