Anton the conversation is not about gatekeeping; the conversation is about the origins of Hip-Hop.
Fat Joe is saying Blacks and Puerto Ricans created Hip-Hop 50/50, and that's just not true. Hip-Hop music specifically derived from from Black American culture; a culture that has been in the USA since the 1700's.
You can't say as a Puerto Rican man using the N-word, rapping over soul music beats, walking around with a Durag on your head that "Puerto Ricans" started Hip-Hop.
Just like Micca said, if a group of Black Americans moved to PR, learned Salsa dancing, added some tap dancing into it, and then tried to take credit for Salsa 50 years later, they would be attacked by Puerto Ricans because that's wrong.

  • @Jaleel88

Anton is asking, how can they stop you from doing hispanic or Reggaeton music? Their people, it's not gonna buy your product, which is going to discourage you for going any further. Trying to make more music, that's how they gonna stop you. And then the label, it's gonna drop you. Even if you independent, you gonna stop 'cause you're not gonna make no money. Out of it, and you're not going to keep putting money into something that you're not getting no return or investment in.

Hip-hop comes from African Americans. Hip-hop
Hip-hop developed in the early 1970s in the Bronx. It was influenced by R&B, funk, blues, and jazz, as well as other elements like turntablism, emceeing, and breaking. The song "Rapper's Delight" by Sugar Hill Gang is often considered to be the first rap song played on the radio. R&B
The term "rhythm and blues" originated in the 1940s as a marketing term for African American music. It was a combination of blues, gospel, and big band swing. The term replaced "race music", which was used to describe all African American music at the time. Even Googles Ai(Ci) knows this.

Quinton is stupid at times. Having knowledge of who’s accusing him allows his legal team to investigate the charges before court.

You go to your Spanish friend house eat his moms dinner and you was there when she cooked it. Then you tell him and his mom her cooking came from you being there because she had no culture until you came and washed the potatoes.

If rap is poetry , disd black people really invent Poetry. OR DID WE JUST START DOING POETRY OVER BEATS.
Rhymes over beats is all music.
    Did black FBA's invent rhyming.

He will not go to trial without facing his accuser, and the only time you don't get to face your accuser is if you copped out, settled, and you know what I have heard from plenty of police officers that, they never really settle cases most people cop out, and Jay-Z should be used to this because he spent plenty of money not to be identified as that young man's dad, so I have a joke maybe he wanted to cut him one day and get some blood, because all of the challenges that they were trying to rush and dismiss, didn't pan out, trying to discredit the lawyer didn't work, I think they were caught off guard because he had the letter for a while, and it's probably not the first time he's gotten, some sort of accusation, maybe not for this type of crime, what celebrities get sued all the time, and his normal behavior is to ignore it, he wasn't expecting that interview,

Whatever, Hip-hop was created by black men. Show respect. Sit down and shut up. You can contribute, but your culture is not the creator.

Is the same as the old groups from way before any of us was born, they would work for the labels first of all a lot of people used to make their own vinyls, and they would put the Beach boys on the cover of your album, and it's not because black people didn't support you, they are looking at the bigger market and white folks, would not have bought the album if they knew it was a black group that's just how business was.
