Made in Suolahti is the most beautiful words i can hear Valtra saying. The fact that quality and reliability still is so important make me want to buy Valtra tractors forever. This is perfect. Our tractors are made in Suolahti, from our 1987 Valmet 505 (most reliable tractor on the planet) to our 2016 Valtra N124. I love everything about Valtra, and the fact that you still keep the tractors finnish and high quality makes them the best tractors in the world. Everyone i know that wants to buy Valtras talk about them having the finnish quality. It is real and very good. I just wish i could get a fully finnish tractor with more simple mechanical solutions (gear levers, power shuttle, steel diesel tank integrated in frame for use when i’m winching lumber all winter in Norway, made of solid materials with mostly steel) that was made in Finland on finnish platform. The agco global platform is good too, but it isn’t the finnish quality. The new A- and G-series are talked about like less reliable tractors in my communities. Some people even saying that the N- and T-series is almost never on workshop but the A- and G-series are in the workshop about 4x as often (but other tractor brands are still more often in workshop than these). Some for example say that the A- and G-series’ powershift transmissions are much less smoother than the N- and T- series transmissions. Even though the A- and G-series might have some international parts not made for Valtras tough finnish conditions, i still love very much that you assemble the tractors in Finland, that alone make it a bit better. With them having troubles you would never find on the fully finnish N-series and T-series that’s made on finnish platforms. Seeing that Valtra still sees the importance of having finnish construction and assembly is very comforting. Tractor construction can’t be as successful if the constructors don’t even sit in the same country or speak the same language. The same with parts quality, if for example the Hella department in Mexico makes great instrument displays, it probably hasn’t been constructed to handle freezing temperatures the same way as Hella in Sweden or Finland. I had another tractor from France once, digital instrument panel said made in Mexico on the behind. After a few winters, letters disappeared from the screens and lamps changed to colors they weren’t even supposed to have. Valtra doesn’t do this with the N- T- and Q-series. Valtra doesn’t just care about sales. Valtra builds trust between Valtra and costumer, and this will get Valtra MANY more sales than cost cutting. While the other brands destroy reputation by having bad quality, Valtra keep the quality and reputation, and get more sales. You are already doing this, please continue to have good quality, that is very important.

Valtras are great. I would say all models are great in their own way and they all get tested for different climates. It's great to have various sizes and options a,n,t,g,s,q. Definitely one of my favorite tractor brands.
I think every brand tries to make a tractor as good as possible within the budget. The problem is people expect a lot for a small price. What i have noticed about reliability is often the "non" reliable tractors are actually pretty reliable the problem is out 5000 units one unit is kinda unlucky and has problems and that one can ruin reputation even tho the rest are perfectly fine. But than again i could be user related fault.

@@dkdanis1340that is true, but if you look at the older tractor models, you will often find them being more reliable, because i believe they used less cost cutting in that part of the design. I believe the reason many brands are cost cutting is because they think everyone want more modern features. That makes more money go into making modern soundproof cabins, modern screen systems, better ways to change gear without using the clutch etc., And less money goes into making more simple solid solutions. And that’s okay because many farmers want it that way. They love the systems and can’t imagine a life without them. They can be compared with those that loved the massey ferguson datattronic. Lots of money spent on electrical systems, so the rest needed to be cheaper. That often made them less reliable than the older ones. But it was worth it for the farmers that really enjoyed that technology. But what about the other farmers. The ones that are looking for a tractor that is as simple and reliable as their 1987 mod. Valmet 505 with 13 000 hours on it that have spent every winter since 1987 pulling timber and every spring since 1987 driving manure + fertilizer or spent every summer since 1995 mowing grass. And if it had a loader it could do even more things. Those people that just need and love the simple reliability they have had in their valmet, doesn’t really have a new tractor on the market. You see it on the market too. In norway, there are valmet 05-series tractors from the 1980’s that cost 200 000 kr, and a new a-series costs 600 000 kr. After 30-40 years and about 8000-9000 hours they still cost 1/3 of a new valtra. I think that is because very few sell tractors where the focus is simplicity and reliability. The new smaller valtras are beautiful and certainly look much more modern than the older generations. But where are the tractors for those that want a traditional manual transmission (like the 05-series had) and don’t want either a powershift transmission or a mechanical transmission made as cheap as possible to fit every brand by agco? If a clutch pedal is released very fast the engine should instantly make the tractor jump, not like i have seen in my experiences with modern tractors where you release the clutch, have to wait 2 seconds before anything happens. You lose all personal connection to the machine when you operate it. What’s even the point of having a biting point if you could release the clutch fully before the clutch even starts to react? This is not a rant towards valtra. I love valtra. It is the best brand i have ever had experience with, that is why i think valtra is the one that could fix this problem. There are no tractors on the market for those that live in nordic conditions and want what they have had from their reliable trusty old valmet tractor. The market focuses on those in big areas with mild conditions that love all the technology they can have. And that is also a big costumer group, maybe the biggest one, but i feel that the group i’m talking about is generally forgotten. If not make new mechanical tractors, at least make it simpler to get access to parts. And since i’m being brutally honest; if i could order parts myself and get them in the mail, i would, because my local workshop makes me often feel unwelcome, and once i mention it is parts for an old tractor, they talk to me like i’m worthless. Because the good money is in new tractors for them. But that won’t stop me from having the brand i love more than anyone else. I love what valtra is doing, they are listening to the people that say; «we love finnish tractors». The new s-series is actually finnish and it warms my heart. I’ve been getting worried as valtra has started using the new global platforms; i thought; «oh no, maybe agco will make every tractor the same in the same factory and just have the brand name valtra in the future», but now i’m seeing a new sign. A sign that they understand how much better the tractors are when they are made and constructed in the original valtra factory. It just makes the tractors more complete. And another note; when i’m talking less reliability and valtra here i’m talking about the tractors based on the global platform. The N-series and T-series manages to still have as good reliability as the 05-series were considered to have when they were new. What i really mean is; when they are trying to make a tractor on budget; spend less money on technology and more on reliability; the bigger tractors are more suited to have more technology. They are more expensive, thay can have both technology and reliability, the smaller ones can concentrate on the reliability. Or they could still have smaller tractors with technology, but i just miss the smaller ones that have less technology. A tractor with steel bottom frame, mechanical linkages to transmission and clutch with a lot of torque. A tractor one can imagine using in the forests with winch at winter time. If i want a simple mechanical tractor now, i have to go to the very cheap brands that are made for less developed countries. Like imported tractors from india or something. But those are not made for the thick finnish woods at winter time. They are also usually too small. Valmet 705 with more weight and hp, that would be a perfect tractor size for a small farmer that does his own forestry and needs a reliable main tractor for his farm. A 505 with more weight and a bit more hp would be perfect in the forest etc., because it is so nimble. Can go about everywhere. Sharp turning radius, front axle that can go very much from side to side and adjust to terrain as well as steel frame diesel tank underneath, makes the tank less likely to get damaged. A big cab, a lot of steel while still having a lot of glass for great visibility (the glass was tinted for better lighting situations. The cabin was designed by volvo, and the same man that designed the 740 and 940 was the leader of the design team. I just love the series and wish i could buy something as perfect today. A tractor that could last forever if you cared about it and a lifetime if you didn’t care about it.

If a tractor manufacturer dresses like the Empire from Star Wars, I sure will be buying from this company any day! But I wish your tractors still had the good sound of the old Valmets, modern Valtra sound like a vacuum cleaner, but each to their own, I guess I could always get a hacksaw and make it a straight pipe.
