@thehat222 (cont.) What you refer to as lawn care tools, are in fact knives specifically designed to cut the spinal chords of the long-finned Pilot Whale. That's why they exist, and that's what they are used for. The knives kill the whale in a matter of seconds. The cut first prevents any blood from being pumped into it's brain, killing it quickly, but cutting the spinal chords also makes sure that the whale feels close to no pain at all, except the second it takes to cut through the blubber.
He said the girl Tim is in love with is amazing, like in the song 'Midnight Hands', 'The Dirt Whispered' and other songs that have some love song-like lyrics.
@themightychickens Thanks for uploading all these videos. I've been watching them since you started pumping them out and I appreciate you locating even the rare songs and covers I never heard of and letting everyone listen to them. Keep it up as long as you have the motivation to, man. Hope this hasn't become like a chore to you. =P
@Rilan11 he isn't talking about being in love frankly alot of their songs can be seen as that the only love song i do beleave he wrote was "like the angels". midnight hands suggest caring about someone and is about accepting yourself and the band saying the support it. "Whatever path you take" and "Il Follow". Tim made the new album in response to RA fans being afraid to tell them their gay. They made a documentary showing how diverse fan base was.
@jmelbo17 I would probably be able to sing along to every song of theirs, yeah. Never seen them live though, kinda hard when you live in the middle of nowhere (Faroe Islands)
@TGROA swing life away as a love song or something else? Swing life away is about being happy in the world and finding true happiness whether it's with someone or your work etc. Hence"We get by just fine on minimum wage" it may not be talking about loving someone when asking to hold there hand but humanity itself getting onboard with his vision of a better world free of greed and loneliness.
@Rilan11: I do believe he's with/married/engaged to a tall blond beauty named Terra that he's been with since high school, and Idk about two, but I know that they have one very cute little daughter. =3
This song is the best! This is soo off topic. But for some odd reason I always think of this show called 'Merlin' everytime I hear. The show is awesome though.
haha 0 dislikes ! just goes to show how much of an amazing song this is its not my fave by them but still amazing and im so stoked im going to see them in october!
@themightychickens In 1986 the IWC put a ban on all commercial whaling. Idgaf if they're endangered or not. I'd sabotage deer hunts in the states with the proper equipment. Fact of the matter is, whale meat is almost completely toxic so the majority of the whale is tossed into a junk yard and left to sit at the bottom of the ocean. And Denmark is part of that ban by the way so technically speaking the "Grind" is illegal.
years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover the clown statue in the kids' room. The father said " Get the kids out if the house, we'll cal the police, we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me
@TheLeaderofBDC: Thanks. =P I'm really excited about it because it's a really energetic song. All my friends that are helping me do it are really into it. My bassist and guitarist are stoked cause it's a song where they can jump around on stage and stuff. I'm nervous though cause I have to own up to the energy Rise puts in their shows....XD
@thehat222 Yet the way it's done is without the shadow of a doubt more humane that industrialised meat farming. It just happens behind the curtains, hence why it's "ohhh so civilized."
@TheGraveKeeperX: I agree with you 115%. There's no other band out there that will ever sound like these four geniuses. Tim with his amazing guitar, vocal. and, oh yeah LYRICAL skills, Zach being a whiz on guitar, of course Joe's been the bassist since the band started and Brandon ('nuff said. If you know Rise Against, you know what I'm talking about ) ;) There you have it. One of (if not THE) most influential punk bands of the 21st century. =)
@ TMC, Do you think you know all the lyrics from memory? I personally think I do, not counting The Killing Tree or Baxter of course. And have you ever seen them live?
@themightychickens Oh yea I forgot you live on some small islands. You need to get out of there and see them at least once. It'll be worth the plane ticket. I'll send show tickets :)
@thehat222 (Continued again) The only valid point you gave was the toxicity of the whales. This is sadly true, the whales do contain heavy metals that may be dangerous to consume, yet despite of that, the Faroe Islands are at the very top of living conditions, mental health, general health and life expectancy. I believe that kinda speaks for itself, no matter what 1 person in a lab coat says (because it is just one person who's become big with the media concerning the health risks)
@thatdoushbag: VERY. My friend got to fly out to Chicago and see a basement show last weekend. 0.o I might see them next year in March for my birthday.
@Rilan11 Yeah, he has two kids, I think. Just on a side note, Midnight Hands, from my persperctive is about abortion. But then they don't do it, if you were wondering
@willroggero Well, that's just me. Yes, it has meaning but I'm more of a older Rise Against than ATR fan. I always skipped it on the CD. This isn't punk to me. That's the only reason I need. You of course can have a different opinion and I'll always have mine. Thank you for replying.
Hey, if it's not something they have banned people for copyright for, could you post RA's cover "Blind"? If you did you'd be the first to do so with lyrics.
@themightychickens My problem with Faroe's whaling is the way each animal is slaughtered. Hooks, clubs, lawn care tools. It is barbaric. I don't eat any meat, I'm not like the hypocrites who would come on here and call you a barbarian for eating whale meat while they chow on an abused chicken's thighs. I was just curious. So are you a Rise Against fan based on their talents and not so much lyrics and morals? This is an genuine question. I got into RA for the morals and stayed for the talent.
@thehat222 I have never personally participated in the hunt, and can almost guarantee that I never will, but yes, I do eat the meat. Now, before you label me as a barbarian who doesn't give the slightest of a shit about nature (because believe me, I care more than most), keep in mind that the whales are not endangered (Note even close), they are killed as fast and humanely as possible (Feel free to show us a better method if you disagree) (1 of 2)
@thehat222 (2 of 2) And that the life quality of said whales far exceeds that of, lets say a chicken, cow or pig held in captivity, bred for slaughter. The industrialised meat industry in the modern world is the most disgusting thing ever to be accepted as civilized behaviour, but it is. It's hidden behind closed doors, and people don't know about it, they just eat it. Now, whaling on the other hand, is seen as barbaric and insane because, surprise, the whales bleed into the while they live in.
@thehat222 But the hunt isn't commercial for crying out loud. The meat is evenly split up among the population, the actual selling of the meat, apart from a few restaurants that offer to serve it to tourists, is illegal. And the majority of the whale is disposed of? Are you completely mad? We eat ALL the meat. ALL OF IT. We also eat most of the blubber, and fuck it, we even eat the fucking kidneys. NOTHING edible goes to waste. Again, general ignorance results in a unjustified bias.
@thehat222 Well, you're welcome. Just please, the next time you discuss any matter on the internet, research it first, especially if you have a strong opinion about it, which you quite clearly have in this situation. Whaling is portrayed as barbaric, you yourself called it barbaric a few minutes ago, but is it truly barbaric compared to the methods of the so called "civilized" world?
Rise Against IS unquestionably THE BEST band....love the lyrics in this song
I love the line "We can't spend our lives waiting to live". It's so true!
I know right, that's my favorite line in any song I've ever heard.
Exactly. It's usually a bad idea to wait living your life and always fearing death every breathing second...
Because you will eventually regret it.
This song makes me fucking happy

Simply an amazing song. No one can top Rise Against. Enough said.

@northernwindfox

great song!
@themightychickens

my personal favorites are collapse, blood red white and blue, and strength to go on
So sad in the world that I am the only one mighty.
How bad life thread you.
@themightychickens Alright...
Well I'm going to get back to listening to your music now.
I forgot to thank you for posting all this RA stuff.
Briliant song
Excellent choice my friend.

@TheLeaderofBDC: yes. ^^ and what a little cutie she is.
@themightychickens Not to mention the slaughter of whales is illegal under international law.
We can just leave that part out though.
Hey themightychickens , you should make new vids. Your channel is one of my faves
@alanihawaii123 I'm pretty sure he also has another daughter named Scarlet.
@thehat222 Yet the way it's done is without the shadow of a doubt more humane that industrialised meat farming. It just happens behind the curtains, hence why it's "ohhh so civilized."

@Rilan11 Yeah, he has two kids, I think. Just on a side note, Midnight Hands, from my persperctive is about abortion. But then they don't do it, if you were wondering
@coolio3433 and your not in jail. wow.

Soldier?
Who the fuck dislikes these man?

@headshots9826 But there aren't any "hater(s)" here. :O
haha lol
the name of the song makes no sense....AND I LOVE IT! this song is great!!
I believe he is referring to somebody who lost someone and they are over their grave trying to hear them
@TheLeaderofBDC: aww. =)
@alanihawaii123 When I grow up I wanna be a father like Tim...
@sbcistheboss Haha thats fine bro. I can respect that.
@thehat222 I have never personally participated in the hunt, and can almost guarantee that I never will, but yes, I do eat the meat.

(1 of 2)
well i sure aint Taliban lol .us army infantry finishing off this death trap
Army Infantryman here too, thanks for your time in Afghanistan, brother!!
@alanihawaii123 This comment my friend is a win. And I agree with all my heart as well. :D

im gunna be sad if RA starts autotuning like evryone else....
AutoTune can be sincerely beneficial for minute corrections. Although I agree, robotic RA would NOT be appealing at all.
@@TheAcePool imagine rise agains machines with auto tune XDDDD
Are u sad now?
@coolio3433 Failed attempt at being amusing has failed.
@alanihawaii123 Good luck. You'll need that.
@coolio3433 i laughed at that
lol
