Brings back so many fond memories!
I worked on that whole series inPost, and on a studio camera for Dean's workshop while working the AFTRS between 1990 and 2005.
Telecine Operator, Videotape Operator/Offline Editor and occasionally, Studio Camera.
Those were the days, thanks for this upload 👍
Think I'll go cry in my beer now, overcome with nostalgia 😎

This is such a good video. Goes beyond the subject of lighting. I've worked with allot of CP's who really are the guys on set to watch and talk to when you have a chance. For actors this video is priceless if you know what you are looking for.

@ar4216 Thanks, yes, I've primarily been a Director of Photography & Editor. I've worked in both news and video production, starting out as a Commercial Producer/Editor. I was laid off while working in Denver back in 2009, certainly hope I get back into fulltime work soon....can't afford to freelance.....the shots primarily are cut to an approved script......

@ar4216 Assistant Cameramen will measure focus from camera to subject (since the camera might be too big for one person to operate). Asst Cam's will then turn focus ring to the measurement on the lens. If actor moves, they will adjust the lense as the actor moves to keep subject in focus. The measurement is from a market on the lens to the subject...

@ar4216 my pleasure...I'm a DP/Videographer/Photographer, but got laid off and still searching for fulltime work....Steadicam's are great, but terrible on your back....AC's do the same thing for Steadicam too, but all done with remote focus rings

@ar4216 Digital Cameras in Hollywood are still pretty big, just look up Panasonic Genesis, it's digital but still as big compared to Panavision Films camera and Arriflex cameras.....

@ar4216 Autofocus is good to fast action, maybe for news, but for production, autofocus isn't a recommendation, since when shooting still scenes, the lens might have alot of trouble focusing on near or far objects, since it won't know what to focus on.....I only shoot with manual focus or shoot with auto only when absolutely necessary

@ar4216 There is a DP/Videographer demo reel, which is my best stuff...
I haven't shot with DSLR, but heavily thinking of getting one.....I cannot post the URL listing on this response, but it's on there

My demo reel is there, under Paul Brenno: Director of Photography. I had some problems with deleting duplicates...send me your email address and I can send you the link, if you'd like.....yes, that Cheerleader video I did back in 2003, I think, that's my voice.....

How poignant and melancholic do his words on video now seem? And looking this far back in time, does it not give you a sense of our current state of mind? We don't seem to be moving in the direction we desire.
