Hi Tobin, I ordered mine from YourShaving last week. I loved the turquoise and orange one (Gulf Livery) and paid around 54 Euros (58 USD). European store, European brush, and a lower price-it's a better deal. I'm fond of the G5C and expect something similar, so I don't think I'll be disappointed. The 29mm knot with the gorgeous handle works for me. The disappointing part is the false marketing about it being a new and innovative fiber, and I think you're right in your disappointment. Great review. Like you I’m a little disappointed in the Omega. It’s bot that it’s a bad knot but like you said… most of us already have that knot and paid a lot less than Omega is asking. Thank you for doing this review. You just saved me around 90 dollars.
Thanks, Marc, I've enjoyed using it. Since this video, I've used it around 6 or 8 times. But, I haven't enjoyed it enough to justify the cost. And while I really like the handle...the same could be said about it. Have a good one!
Just got my apshavco brush with the merit green and black handle incredible brush. Also got a g8 knot and put it in a wood handle I got from apshaveco and both excellent.
Wow, they are very beautiful. Turkish shaving brushes are very soft. There are good brands. If you can find temizel and jaguar, I recommend you to try the new versions.

Very good Tobin! Don't lose hope yet, as it could be mix of fibers that are different percentages or a new fiber that's in the mix. The handle is really cool for sure! I almost picked up the Pure Bliss and some soap from Shannon, but I wanted to talk to you first and get your thoughts. I looked at the G5C, but I was thinking the Bliss might be more up my alley when it's broke in. I also sent you a pic of the scoop I just sent out. Have a great one!

If it makes you feel any better, your brush videos have inspired me to buy 2 and a half brushes that I'm really happy with. I bought the Simpson Trafalgar T3, and then your video about Phoenix brushes made me want one of those. I ordered the Switchback 400 Aluminus with an extra blank and put in the Roswell Grey synthetic in one blank, and a silver tip badger brush in the other. Both in 24mm because you said that was in the sweet spot size. Like I sort of said in my last post on here to you... I really like your videos on here, very helpful and entertaining and what's more? We were talking one day about my hobby, and she mentioned a conversation she had with her dad. Turns out her dad watched my content, and she didn't know it. They had even talked about me, but she didn't put two and two together until she and I got to talking. Lol. Hopefully, one day he'll say hi. He has a great kid. She was one of my favorite "regulars."
The 'inflated price' is tactical. Business economics. Maybe they still had knot inventory that wasn't moving. Old knot inventory, knew handle. Problem solved.....genius of them. Sucks for us!
Sorry to hear you are disappointed with your new Omega Brush. A classic case of over promising and under delivering on the part of a company. The good news is that you have 80 plus other synthetic brushes to snuggle up to. I love my G5C that I got from AP Shave Co. ( identical to yours). Give your Muhle 25 mm STF a kiss. It loves you more than the Omega.
