no that's what makes us USC - we play anyone anywhere anytime - and in the CLR era, it doesn't matter if we have our shyyte together or not.
It's better for SC though because SC never plays FCS schools and always plays Notre Dame non conference and then another hard team.

Well I have to admit I’m new to your podcast but after listening I’m a big fan, you’re not an SEC homer and looked at things with a wide lens and brought up a lot of good points that I think most LSU fans missed, unfortunately, USC hit the nail with the coaching staff, they put a good game plan together, avoided what I counted was 5 turn overs where had LSU got 1 or 2 they easily win the game. LSU and SEC fans overreacting over what looks to be a very good SC and very much improved LSU Tiger squad is mind boggling. I tell you what that team will learn and will only improve, i definitely don’t want to see these bayou Tigers again. Fight on and what I’ve subscribed

I'm a USC fan and could say the same about USC. Both teams were similar last season. High offense, low on D. That said, I'd rather play an LSU than a powder puff team early on. Both sides should consider ourselves lucky that we don't have to sit thru a snooze.

Our defense will be better. We won’t be top 25 but I’ll take anything within top 50 at this point. UCLA was just as bad before Lynn got there. Coaching still matters and I think our guys won’t give up big plays like previous years. We cut that down we win more games

Nervous that defensively SC has not picked up that star Linebacker except for the kid from Oregon State. Secondary needs to tackle well & play like linebackers. Possibility of LB's getting mauled again. Coach Ertz will have them in the proper gaps this year, most likely will have to use speed & Gang Tackle. Go SC. Create turnovers like 2 seasons ago.
Lsu has less to lose than USC has to win. Lsu can drop the game but do good in sec play and still make it. People don't trust Riley, so either way win/lose it's going to be wait and see, they have a rough road and they could drop the bag along the way....

"College" football has less than 10 years before it implodes completely. The amount of money is insane. It's no longer "amateur" football. They will be 3 major conferences in 5 years. The SEC, Big 12, Big 10. That's it
It won’t implode. It’ll change dramatically but it’ll be much more stable at the end of the day. Bigger conferences separate from the NCAA with a revenue sharing model that replaces NIL. It will be more regulated with players signing contracts in an employee-like relationship with their respective schools. I don’t love it, but I’d rather have stability than the Wild West that we have right now
I don't know anything but what I hear, but USC is saying their defense will improve. It's the same thing with LSU, LSU's defense will be significantly improved, but again it remains to be seen by how much.
But the one thing I do know is that LSU has a significantly better OL relative to USC. Thus, LSU's running game will work against USC and if LSU's running game works against USC, so will LSU's passing game.
I do think LSU's defense will be able to put pressure on Miller Moss. Which can be off set with short passes.
Nonetheless, I feel far better about LSU stopping USC's pass rush because of LSU's better OL. Which means that Nuss will not be limited to throwing primarily short passes to off set USC's pass rush.
Hence, I think that advantage LSU has between the two OL's will be the biggest difference in this game permitting LSU to leave Los Vegas with a win.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Riley will have to deal with the pain and Paul Finebaum will be condemning and trashing Riley big time.
The D-line is USC's weakness. They don't have a lot of experienced guys and the ones with experience are Not that Talented. But I think Miller Moss and his young core of Wide Receivers can make it a shootout and hope they score the final winning points. 🤷🏻♂️
This is sound analysis, and compelling. As SC fans we're hoping the young LSU corners aren't quite ready for Baker's system in week 1, and the SC receivers and Riley offense can put them under pressure when he goes man outside.
These non-conf games are a treat in this age of soft scheduling, so I hope the fanbases enjoy it and keep it respectful. ✌️

Fight on!! Great game, both teams looked really improved defensively. @blackdog's analysis was still pretty good. The LSU corners played scrappy and were better than I expected, but Moss did a great job distributing and Hudson made some INSANE catches.
The LSU o-line looked great, and at times with Emery in the backfield they started to really build momentum. But I'm proud of the SC front 7 playing TOUGH football and making some excellent open-field tackles. Gentry's TFL on 3rd & short changed the game.
He was also right that Baker was gonna "blitz the pants off of Moss". But the kid has poise under pressure and just kept getting back up and throwing daggers. What a warrior.
It was a great game! LSU has a great team, but underestimated the fight-back in our Trojans. Excited for this season! ✌️✌️

Both teams have great offenses. LSU has a great offensive line and those two tackles. USC has those great receivers.
Can either team's defense get a stop ? We may be looking at a track meet. And the team that has the ball last maybe wins the game. It looks like an interesting game. For that particular weekend the best game is the Notre Dame at Texas A&M.
That is the best match up to watch. Georgia will blow Clemson away. Most of the favorites win big. Alabama wins big.
Texas, Ole Miss, Oregon and Ohio State all win big. The SEC and the BIG 10 have all the powerhouse teams. I could see Georgia and Oregon in the Final Ttile game this year. Both those teams have everything. They are loaded.

The formula for winning any game against Stinkin' Lincoln is possessing the ball for long, drawn-out drives with lots of running and some successful 4th down conversions. All it takes is two or more empty possessions for his teams to fall behind and never catch up because their defense can't stop anything. I think LSU has the advantage with that O-Line.
