- In this video, I attempt to learn to Hacky Sack. Is it possible for me to reach a rally of 50?
This video was inspired by Jan Weber.
I got my Hacky Sack at the store Zumiez. Visit here to buy one:

The key to hacky sack is having the control to kick it straight up in the air each time, so your not chasing it all over the place.
oh my GOD this is so wholesome YOU GO BOBBY
Good job, it can take some time, but you hustled hard and made that goal happen -- bravo! In the last 6 months I have also been hackin away again after a decade long hiatus, and I can say that I feel so much better now that I have started up again. I re-learned the basics that I always knew - but also learned how to be more consistent, especially with that front toe kick I usually turned into a knee pop move.
As soon as I saw where you were going with the excel sheet I liked the vid. As soon as you started talking about standard deviation, I subscribed
YESS!!! I am learning now and there is nothing like the high of getting a new personal best!!!! AMAZING JOB you're so good at it!
You have inspired me, I’m a teen and my brother gave me a hacky sack a long time ago and recently I found it I was like oh cool, then I have been messing with it, but no clue what to do with it.
The spreadsheet was nice to see to get an idea for how long before you see results. Seems like he got to 50 pretty quickly! Gonna give this a try (including the spreadsheet). :)
For whatever reason I recently wanted to get "decent" at hacky sack. In high school we would just pass it in a circle and I could only manage to juggle it maybe 3 times.
I'm going to start by just doing basic drills like a toss, kick, catch. Doing specifically one kick at a time may it be a knee raise, foot flick, inside/outside. Then for each specific kick move on to consecutive kicks and progress from there.
If I've learned anything from practicing violin/piano, it's that structured practice yields better results and long term success. Rather than just do it and hoping it gets better over time, doing things boring, slow, and structured will ensure you don't fall into bad habits that will hold you back as you tackle more advanced levels.
Alright this is day 1 for me lol.
How’s day 90?
This was a great video Bobby, I dont have people to kick with either and henced delved into the freestyle type of footbag. If you havent yet DO IT. Your kick skills are on point, next practice delays, then clippers, then the around the world, then the world is your oyster.
yeahhh !! can’t wait to play again
I love Hackensack
Cool thing to do! I just found a Hacky Sack and wanted to do and great job cause for me it was just tiring
Make it challenging! Kick it with your friends! It’s fun and it gets the blood pumping! ✨
best played on university grounds year round

You, sir, are awesome
congratulation on 53! It's great to grow up no matter how old you are :)
Good
Roll the hack on your foot and kick it up to yourself so u don't break your back picking it up 4 thousand times lol and it's way way more control on the side of your foot I only kick it on top to save it or do a trick or something u can almost roboticly knock that lil sucker on your side foot;)
Keep kicking
Where did you get one?
