Nunca vi un futbolista jugar medio tiempo con la pierna quebrada y tener que hacer todo con la "menos hábil" (y lo pongo entre comillas, pues en el caso de Pelé es un chiste, ya que dominaba ambas brillantemente, para muestra un botón) y no errar un solo pase. Es de locos. Hoy los soplas y se desarman. Pelé era sobrenatural, por eso fue único en la historia y nunca habrá nadie siquiera que se le acerque.

Portugal played better this time. The injury of Pele, which actually came from an earlier match, was a nice excuse to explain how poor Brazil's performance was during the tournament. I watched highlights of the game and Portugal was the better part.

Not in the way we understand it today. In this day and age tested in club football if proved successful will be incorporated into the game at all levels and throughout the world in 2 years top. Back then substituion during matches had already been in place since 1954 but it took until 1970 to make it official at the World Cup, meanwhile appaling display of unsportmanlike behaviour by the Portuguese towards Pele was one of the most important events to back up the inclusion of yellow cards for the next World Cup just four years later.
What a butchery poor Pelé had to bear due the Bulgarian and Portuguese players! And shameful times of football history. Not only here, but in the former tournaments as well. Many bad decisions by referees... they allowed foul play... and no substitution, no red card rule that time... Insane!

Pero el suceso que más se motivó la invención de las tarjetas fue en el partido Inglaterra vs Argentina en este mismo mundial 1966 pues el arbitro le había expulsado a un jugador de Argentina Antonio Rattín pero el arbitro era alemán y no hablaba español Rattín tampoco hablaba alemán y la otra selección era Inglaterra y nadie de ellos hablaban alemán o español sólo inglés entonces se armó un alboroto terrible nadie le entendía a nadie y se perdió varios minutos del partido por ese lío entonces desde ahí la FIFA se inventó las tarjetas para que el árbitro no necesitara más hablar con los jugadores y sí solamente les enseñar la tarjeta amarilla o roja y listo todos ya saben el significado de la tarjeta principalmente en partidos internacionales que los árbitros y jugadores eran de distintos países y no hablaban el mismo idioma

A primeira coisa que me veio a memória ao assistir os lances violentos contra o Pelé, foi os comentários de jovens e adolescentes que "afirmam" que o Rei não conseguiria jogar o seu mesmo futebol atualmente, com a infame justificativa que a marcação nos dias atuais melhorou muito.
Só com essa partida, e mais que suficiente para provar que a geração nova não sabe de nada.
Gostaria muito de poder ver, um "craque" atual jogar em gramado duro, chuteiras pesadas e desconfortáveis, bater em um tijolo, que hoje os meninos chamam de bola. Usar um uniforme crosso de lã pura, que ficava colada no corpo.
Sem aquecimento antes da partida, sem preparador físico, apenas o massagista e gelo. Sem caneleiras, apenas no meião. Sem substituição no decorrer da partida, sem cartão vermelho.
Numa época que tinha que ser homem de verdade, ter coragem, garra, força de vontade.
E ainda vai aparecer um pseudo-entendedor de futebol atual, dizer que no passado era bem mais fácil.

Acredito que vc também tem certeza que grandes jogadores atuais seriam ainda maiores que o Pele na época dele.

Quando o jogador brasileiro faz uma falta grave é expulso. Os juízes são muito maleáveis com os times sul-americanos na Copa Libertadores ( copa de clubes campeões sul-americanos).
