    Here in Southern California, we have several casinos which makes a gambling vacation more affordable. Saving lots of money by not going to Vegas, airfare, taxis, room rates, resort fees, parking fees, etc., etc.
    Most have good to very good restaurants without the designer chef’s added costs to the menu.
    Great for retired seniors and low rollers.
    Pechanga, Pala, Morongo, Agua Caliente, Soboba, Viejas, etc.
    Yaamava is the most expensive, though.

      Agua Caliente was wonderful a few years back- we had been there two or three times and every time had a great time the last time came home with pretty much the same amount of money from the casino that we left with
      The rooms the beds the ambiance was always perfect........ unfortunately I'm not in California anymore,

    My usual go to are tribal casinos, and I’ve won many hand pays. In fact, I may be one of the few that think tribal casinos pay better. I do, however, wish they would tier match but with the fierce competition between tribes, I don’t see that happening.

    Here in Green Bay Wisconsin, The Oneida Casino has no competition. the closest is the Menominee Casino and that's 45 miles WNW of Green Bay. it's next to impossible to win anything at Oneida. They also don't allow filming.

      We rarely go to Oneida anymore. We live in Appleton and will go to Keshena or Bowler instead. We like the old-school machines, and Oneida has taken almost all of them out (I mean, they still have a decent amount of dollar machines, but they are so doggone tight, and your money seems to go so fast that it's not even fun). Keshena and Bowler still have a good assortment of both quarter and dollar machines. We can be to Oneida in about 30 minutes. It takes us almost exactly an hour to get to Keshena, and about an hour and 15 minutes to Bowler. It's worth it to us to drive the extra distance.

What I find interesting is that they don’t tier match. You would think they would . Have not played at Mohegan in many years. My casino comps with FW are good, so stick with them, not spreading my money around . I have seen an office at FW in one of their casinos for gaming commission. You answered your own question @ the 6:30 mark. They can do whatever they want as far as RTP % at least in Alabama, where there is no state gaming commission that I'm aware of since gambling is illegal in all forms in our backwards state. I've been to an indian casino twice and they were horrible, never again. I only gamble where there is a state gambling commission.

    • @GambleSmart
      @GambleSmart  7 місяців тому

      They still have state restrictions - when I mentioned they can do whatever they want, they still have to comply with tribal and state gaming pact rules and regulations. Another thing to consider, manufacturers don't even build payback %'s that are lower than 80% anymore.

    The lady that hit the $1.2 million? Someone tampered with that machine, and there's before and after photo proof that the "wheel of fortune" was moved. I don't trust the gaming commissions anymore. Someone moved that wheel after the fact, and the NJ Gaming Commission is ignoring it. I'm curious. Is it possible to alter the saved data in a slot machine without detection when a machine goes into 'tilt' mode? I haven't heard much from that case for a while. I haven't been to my casino since that story took a turn in her favor, but she still got sh@t on. I'm suspicious that slot machines are more easily tampered with than I've believed up until this point. There might really be 'a switch in the back'.

    • @GambleSmart
      @GambleSmart  7 місяців тому

      How do you know it was tampered with though? That's not what happened. When she got the bonus round, she pressed the spin button and the wheel began to spin (like normal), but it tilted (which means it physically couldn't move to the spot the RNG told it to), but it just happened to stop on the Jackpot wedge when it faulted. After the tilt was cleared (opening the machine, turning attendant key), the game resumed and attempted to move the wheel to the correct spot (again decided by the RNG) and it did, resulting in a $350 win for her, not the jackpot. Even if someone physically opened the machine, removed the wheel assembly and moved the wedge, it would still result in a tilt because the RNG result didn't match the physical result.

      What you are describing is actually volatility. Machines with giant jackpots (far away from your bet size) do "reserve" a lot to fund that jackpot. For example, that's why games like 10x pay are so hard to hit because the 10,000 credit top line hit is significant for a 1 credit bet.

    Most casinos are not disclosing RTP information because they are not competing on RTP. Tribals can do it. Ho-Chunk in Madison, WI, is a bingo hall and it advertises its class II games as having a 95% floor average. But that is a business decision. The majority of casinos are competing on comps and amenities. They lure in players with offers based on loyalty card status. Not RTP. Though you still occasionally see banks of 97% RTP $0.25, $1, and $5 machines in casinos. Most people do not care. Look at how popular penny games are. The RTP there is nearly always less than 90% including the progressive increment.

I know what they do at casinos by speaking to long time employees that work there or retired from a tribal casino. They are very greedy people. What you’re talking about is happening now in Florida, no one can win at the tribal casinos since Covid and the casinos are failing to hold on to players. All the locals have stopped going, they would go out of business if it wasn’t for visitors. They tightened the machines down horribly and the bonuses are a slap in the face to the players. RTP is legislated in most if not all states. People who think that tribal casinos are robbing them should stay out of casinos altogether tbh. I played for 14 hours at Harrah’s Cherokee with $1000. Certainly not something that could be done if they had purposely tight machines. I do think all casinos should have to share RTP though.
