Every Bama game from Bryant era, you will notice the D line in perfect football stances, playing leverage football, the backers are squared up and scraping, and the dB's are flying to the ball. Well coached! Well motivated. K. Donahue and P.Dye I guess.
Bear Bryant, and Tom Osborn. Keith Jackson on the call. Astroturf, and having to adjust the rabbit ears. Definitely 1970's college football on ABC. Thanks for posting!
I'm not a Nebraska fan, but I've watched several games from this time period recently, and I'll have to say that I'm very impressed with Rick Burns! Maybe not as strong as his number-sake Jeff Kinney, but he was one heck of a runner! How did this guy get lost to Nebraska football history!? But by today's standards any players from more than 20 years ago are deemed irrelevant.
I remember walking though Miami Dolphins' training camp seeing players walking around. I saw Dwight walking toward us. That was the biggest thing I had ever seen.
As usual ole Jim Bunch #63 is coming off the football wide open. Best I ever saw at that position. He was only 235, but I wish they had tried him at nosegaurd. Best point of attack player ever.
The color and the graphics for 78 wasn't much to look at, was it? But how great was it to hear the great Keith Jackson and Mr. Frank Broyles doing color. Me: University of Arkansas '77
Have you considered making a playlist for the big bowl games since you have plenty of no huddles for those games? (I.e. a playlist of Rose Bowl no huddles, Orange, Sugar, etc.)

I was at the game with my Dad in 78 what a crowd in the Ol Gray Lady in Birmingham Al ❤
I was there in the upper deck with a friend
I love watching this older games with two Powers like Nebraska and Alabama. Keep it Coming
Man do I remember the TVs rolling frames back then. 😂😂 I remember this game too. Thanks for sharing!
A match between two legendary coaches who hit their strides in two very different eras of college football. Bear Paul Bryant vs Tom Osborne

They were one of Bama’s biggest headaches along with Notre Dame.
Bama running the wishbone and Nebraska in the I formation. Love it - good ol' smash mouth football.
Notice D. Stephenson pulling forward off the snap, he beats the guards off the ball. Hits the NG when he's still in his stance. Super good technique
Yup, possibly best center of all time

Tough hitting by both teams, love it
So good to see this game being played in the "Old Grey Lady". She has seen many, many great games through the years.
Anytime I'm feeling bad,I like to go back and watch this game.
My very 1st alabama game i saw in person
Love the cheerleader intro. Cool that you included it.
I. M. Hipp.....hands down the best name ever. ''What's your name?''....''I. M. Hipp''......''I don't care how cool you are, what is your name?''.
Jarvis Redwine. Wonder Monds.

1970’s AstroTurf. Carpet over concrete.
So many careers ruined because of it.
Three yards and a rug burn. Wow have things changed.
3:00 mark: please wiggle the rabbit ear antenna!
Brother I remember.
90s & V.C. ...............I use to get sent on the ROOF, weather permitting for those adjustments !!!!!!!
Love these old Bama uniforms before Nike butchered them.
The old Russell uniforms ( made in Alexander City, Al.) were awesome. The Nike deal with Bama is what changed the uniforms. No doubt.
Someone turn the white nob on the back of the TV 😂
Roll Tide we were national champions that year and this started it

It really changed with HD
Remember the first cable remote control? The one that zipped left to right.
I remember having Cable TV, and the controller for the Cable was a cable attached keyboard. You just pushed the key for whatever channel you wanted.
These college kids are in their 60s now 🤯
So are the fans from then. I was a freshman at Bama.
Good football!
Alabama had to get their revenge from last year and they sure did a 20 to three beatdown of Nebraska
I'm guessing the person who asked on a recent video if Alabama had ever beat Nebraska (they lead the series 3-2) won't comment on this one.
You commented on it dude.
How is Nebraska doing lately?
@@rolltide9547 lol
The Bear schooled Osborne that day.
Put some aluminum foil on those rabbit ears lmfao
IIRC Hipp was a walk on at NU.
It's like the who's who of the early 80's Miami Dolphins.
1.Tony Nathan
2.Dwight Stephenson
3.Don McNeal
4. Andre Franklin
And Baumhower. I saw video of P.B trying to get Shula to trade for Barry Krausse
Both teams using a 5-2 defense.

I hadn't thought about it, but it is a good idea if I get some extra time. So many games on this channel now though it could take awhile.
SB have u done 1978 Bama Auburn?
This team looks similar to one of Saban's early teams
With these two teams in those days whoever completed their first pass won
As a Falcons fan from way back I never knew where Junior Miller came from...now I know.
By way of Midland, Tx
Crappy video quality as someone who lived and watched tv in those days tv picture was actually much better than this video represented
Examining this game closely, I can say this game is 😈 evil jajajaja
I was at this game
"Bama's defense was stout.
They didn't beat em by much did they Alabama how would they have done in Lincoln neb?
Same thats a bear Bryant team they gonnsla play good anywhere most likely
They ran all over the huskers, can’t see it being much different
Boy were these two teams over-ranked or what?
Wont be a game like that between these 2 powers again. Nebraska will continue to flounder.
I caught 1 pass completed down field
Alabama got lucky
Hahaha..... thank you, have not laughed this hard in a long time.😂 Bear's 5th of 6 titles. Bama has got "lucky" 18x.
