  • Bucks Fizz’s Jay Aston joins us to discuss her daughter’s terrifying ordeal with meningitis. 18-year-old Josie was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis earlier this month and spent five days in a coma. Meningitis is one of the major health risks for young adults in their first year at university and can be transmitted through kissing and socialising, making students the second most ‘at risk’ group for contracting the disease, after children under the age of one. Jay hopes to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of meningitis in young people, and to encourage them to check they are up to date with vaccinations.
