Make sure your bilge pumps are running perfect and bring along a high volume gas powered pump when you float her. Those seams are going to need time to swell back up and get water tight again.
@DuckGunChronicles sounds like you have it covered. Just mentioned it as when I worked at the local marina ages ago, came in on Monday and one of the huge old wooden boats that had been there Fri. was gone. To the bottom. Could barely see the bow of the boat about 6 feet under. Coast guard had a man camped out floating pug mats out onto the oil slick. There were some fines imposed.
Heck ya man! It's been crazy from the beginning till now! Thanks for sticking around and watching the content! I hope I'm doing Duck hunting justice! and will do!
We have talked with some old fellows that have been working on wood boats for years. The traditional way is wood with cotton caulking but I lot of guys now use the 5200 to seal of the cracks between the boards. I believe it will work well the way we've done it
Congrats on the news 🎉 My word of advice as a woodworker and guy who watches LOTS of UA-camrs build boats: redundant bilge pumps and eventually haul out to do a proper corking.
@@DuckGunChronicles the recommendation to have a good pump on board is a good one. Anything could happen. Hopefully she will be a great platform for duck hunting.
haha yes those days are over luckily! Haha lets hope the next boat is yours then and you can buy for the hired help 😂. I'll be excited to see what boat your pick.. one rule it has to be a wood one again lol

Thanks for the advice! We have an 1100 gallon bulge pump, a 3900 gallon bulge pump and a 6000 gallon sub pump set up for when that day finally comes!

I sure hope that caulk works. The hull planks need proper corking though.

With the hat and beard now all you need is a corncob pipe.

You need a gas pressure washer. That electric one wasn’t doing anything.
I’m sooooo glad the caulking and sanding is done. My vote is to hire that out next time
Just curious, are you a TIG welder? I listened to a podcast you were interviewed in and you said you were in Aerospace
@@hunterengle6894nope, can TIG weld… just not great. I’m a technician.

Haha 😆 they would actually be an upgrade
Would love to quit my job and come help and hunt full time. Semiserious.
You need to buy a belt sander my man. That is way the hell to big for palms.
Haha we did end up with one eventually! 😅
Filling that crack from front to back. It won’t be long until she hears them ducks quack. 👊🏻
