FT아일랜드의 여덟 번째 미니 앨범 ‘LOCK UP’은 이별 후 연인과의 기억을 판도라의 상자에 가둬버린, 아픈 사랑의 순간을 그려냈다. 이별에 직면한 순간부터 다시 사랑을 다짐하는 순간까지 복잡한 사랑의 감정을 보여준다.
타이틀곡 ‘말이 안 돼 (Unthinkable)’는 사랑하는 이와의 이별을 받아들이고 싶어도 인정할 수 없는 현실적인 심정을 담아낸 곡이다. 리드보컬 이홍기의 호소력 짙은 보이스가 애절한 곡 분위기와 맞물려 듣는이들에게 깊은 감동을 선사한다.
Locked up memories of love, [LOCK UP]
FTISLAND’s 8th Mini Album ‘LOCK UP’ depicts a painful moment of love where the memories of the lover are trapped in Pandora's Box after a breakup. It portrays complex feelings of love from the moment you face breakup to the moment you pledge your love again.
The title track ‘Unthinkable’ is a song that contains realistic feelings where the breakup cannot be admitted even if one tries to accept the breakup with their loved ones. Lead vocalist Lee Hong Gi’s appealing voice is combined with the mournful atmosphere of the song, deeply impressing the listeners.

FT Island! Hong Ki has long been regarded as one of the best singers in Korea. His voice is super stable, powerful and very unique. There are clips of him from concerts literally sprinting the length of a giant S shaped stage while singing at the top of his lungs. And then sprinting all the way back doing the same thing.
FUN FACT: he doesn’t sing duets because he inevitably overpowers whoever he’s singing with. The only exception is “Still Love You” with Yoo Hwe Sung (singer of another huge band from around this time called N. Flying).
