The Hook (Absinthe Bargirl 2) // Arman Ray

To be successful, any pop song needs a "hook". A hook is a catchy phrase or beat or musical signature which guarantees that the song will be remembered in the heads of the people who hear it, causing the song to be repeated and requested.
After returning to the city after a 100-day solo meditation retreat in the deep mountains, having been completely cut off from society, Hyon Gak Sunim found himself in a coffee shop in Central Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, outside Boston. Hearing a pop song, a realization dawned on him for the first time: "the hook" is usually always suffering.
