Here as the early Caped Squad. I’m hoping this run is atleast fun at the end. I hope they remember Spider-man books CAN be fun and not dreadful to read through
I checked this one out since I saw Zeb Wells was off the book, and I saw it was a fun concept. Besides the parts of the book that focused on the status quo, I really loved it.
From what I understand, thanos made a new infinity stone, the death stone, and sealed death into it. So Couldon took up the mantle. I may be wrong on all that though so don't quote me on that.
At least this has more interesting things going on than the dead end of the Wells run. I agree about the Stopgap feeling. I wonder if something's going on behind the scenes after the backlash of late... Maybe they're trying to court a new scribe, but woe betide if you try and fix or change anything!
Possibly. You never know, especially with Nick Lowe being hostile to fans wanting Peter and MJ married again, both on the letters page and in the recent NYCC conference
I feel their might be a weird reward if peter succeeds not like loki who tricked peter until using up. It likely it might pop for a certain cosmic demigod whose son ruined Peter's life.
This is a fine issue, but my main concern is with this storyline mainly: 1) Why isn’t this a Dr. Strange storyline Or 2) Why isn’t this a Dr. Doom storyline?
Because Stephen wouldn’t be out of his element, like Peter is. That’s where the fun and the humor comes from Also Doom thinks it’s beneath him to handle it. Why do you think that Victor usually sends his Doombots to do things for him?
Spot-on review. Already hoping for this arc to be renamed "The Three or Four Deaths of Spider-Man", because I don't think it's going to hold my interest too long.
Honestly this comic, is sort of interesting and peter getting magic powers in the six one six comics looks interesting and him dying in the comic looked painful but hey he came back to life. Also I love doctor doom, stuff really cool great review man
Yeah, it was good. I'm excited to read this. I wish the art was consistently one person rather than, like, 5. Also, I like how pissy his friends are towards him.
Got this feeling in the back of my mind that Spider-Man is going to just be fluff from now on, rather than contain anything substantial. Ah, well. Don't want to jump on any train, too soon.
@@mttylerdurden9 It's just a wish, not a demand. And it's two books a month, every two weeks, with a different writer for this event. I wish the series wasn't twice a month, so there were more consistent interiors.
This thing honestly reminds me of Spider-Man beyond with how they were trying to push more books and made it weekly, it is kind of weird that Peter is the focus for this type of story even if he wasn't there when Doom became sorcerer supreme
Anyone ever ordered from marvel subscription? I'm a first time subscriber though I ordered 18 different comic subscriptions lol I ordered like a week ago. Am I likely to receive this copy?
Hmm… ok… I mean, I feel like Spider-Man has died like 100 times already, not too long ago he got his next snap, rally and repeatedly killed by kindred. Not only that he turned into a giant spider and gave birth to himself. This is nothing new.
Not only that, but on Claremont's Uncanny X-men run, there was an arc where Kulan Gath from Conan and Red sonja stories, came over to 616 Earth and transformed it into his own personal Hyborian kingdom and killed and enslaved all the world's heroes. He killed Spider-man by torturing him via crucifixation (!) until he died
This was an ok not good not great just ok i just know that we are going to get oversaturated with doom. I get it he us the new mcu big bad. But this is getting out of hand

I wouldn't bet on it! Watch as it goes downhill the further it goes on, like with most Big 2 comics these days😢
Now Spidey knows what the Hulk goes through.
but far as we know, it is far more painful
@@digunder14The Hulk just handles the pain better.😊
And Logan. And Deadpool, and so on and on
@@kemmdog4444and Logan and Wade Wilson as well
Glad to see Peter tell Doom to kick rocks. Missed that part of him.
Not gonna Lie Joel if Peter Doesnt Gets Some PTSD from this Arc Conclusion it will solidify that He is Marvel Universe Heart
Future Solicits say he WILL buck under the pressure and the PTSD from the constant deaths and resurrections!
I checked this one out since I saw Zeb Wells was off the book, and I saw it was a fun concept. Besides the parts of the book that focused on the status quo, I really loved it.
Same
Same here. The ONLY reason I'm reading it again was because Wells is finally off the book
Not gonna lie, the art makes me want to pick this up. Thank goodness Jr. is off the book
From what I understand, thanos made a new infinity stone, the death stone, and sealed death into it. So Couldon took up the mantle. I may be wrong on all that though so don't quote me on that.
Yes. That's EXACTLY what happened!!!
At least this has more interesting things going on than the dead end of the Wells run.

Because ultimate Spider-Man is outselling the main book and they "need" to kill Peter a few times to boost sales
Easy because currently Strange Can’t do it, and Doom openly said that he Won’t do it
@@flashtheshapeshafteryes, maybe this. Thinking his repeated deaths will sell (it doesn't!!)
Because Doom feels this is beneath him, and hence bestow this task to Spidey. And also part of the One world under Doom event 😊
You just know Spidy's girlfriend is going to become something like the Pink Goblin. Also is Joe Kelly just an interm writer or something?
Yeah Joe Kelly is just here till the next writer takes over the book
@@Therobot-zy8uc Ok cool thanks good to know.
Yes, he is just a stopgap writer until they find someone suitable to write him
I just don’t know if I need to read this anymore with Miles and Ultimate
Then don't!! Just stick to USM and Miles Morales only
I was surprised about how much fun I had with this, especially those beautiful splash pages!
Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinnes on 'Deadpool' was one of my favorite runs. May have to check this out!
Spot-on review. Already hoping for this arc to be renamed "The Three or Four Deaths of Spider-Man", because I don't think it's going to hold my interest too long.
Then drop it and stick only to USM
Well in the Avengers comic Dr Doom offer same thing to Spider Man but they refuse obviously
Love the costume, love that Spidey is the center of the story and I hope things get better for the Amazing Spider-Man.
Yes, but it will be DARK and depressing as Spidey is going to DIE several times over! 😅
This comic is honestly marvel trying to do something different but I think nick lowe has been really pushing people's buttons.
Honestly this comic, is sort of interesting and peter getting magic powers in the six one six comics looks interesting and him dying in the comic looked painful but hey he came back to life.

Yes, he has been lately
Ok, I’ll admit that SpiderMan vs demons is a really fun premise. Thanks for the review, Joel.
Doom thinks highly of Spiderman this shows it
Spider-man has outwitted, if not defeated him multiple times in the past. So that at least earns him his respect

@@mttylerdurden9no, twice a month
Hope you're having a good day
Honestly this entire story isn’t a Spider-Man story but a doctor strange story also isn’t really funny but just dumb in my opinion
Not only that, but a One world under Doom tie-in book
SO it sounds like I'm not missing much and can just stick to Miles' book and 6160 Pete's book.
Yup. Just stick to them only
This feel like this would fit a different marvel character better then spiderman
This thing honestly reminds me of Spider-Man beyond with how they were trying to push more books and made it weekly, it is kind of weird that Peter is the focus for this type of story even if he wasn't there when Doom became sorcerer supreme
That's because it and is also a tie-in to One world under Doom event of next year
3:32 By wining Mortal Koba- Oh…..my bad. Wrong franchise, though that would be cool. Doom in MK, tell me I’m wrong.
Not reading anything except ultimate for a whil, but if Joe Kelly gets rid of Paul, I'll sing his praises
I've been waiting to see what this is and will the editorial office high jack this storyline too
It already is hijacked, what with it being an early tie-in to One world under Doom event
Ngl if I died even once like that after the missions over I’m hanging up the costume for a while bare minimum
Why does burnout look like he stole chase steins fistigons and bootigons

Deal with it. This is Marvel's decision and to synergise with the MCU appearance of RDJ's Dr. Doom
Why won't you read the new infinity watch comics?
No time and too expensive
