Love your rig! We have a cheap 61-key keyboard that I'm currently using as my "controller" for MainStage 3 on our worship team. However, we do have a RD800 and I'm in the process of trying to figure out the best and most affordable way to upgrade my current setup. I've heard good things about the MPK controllers (looks like you're using an AKAI in combination with your full keyboard??). Anyway, would love to know more about your setup. Thanks!
+Juan Jose I use The Giant by Native Instruments. It's not a stock mainstage sound but you can buy it from the Native Instruments website for $99 I believe. Trust me it's worth every penny.
I have a question about the impulse keyboard, I can't get automap to recognize it, though it works, I am having trouble assigning the buttons. I only have an impulse novation 25, but want the play button to play a backing track, and the arrows to switch pads, but it won't recognize after I "assign". Thoughts?
Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for all the love on this cover. Just wanted to let you know I just posted the first of many tutorials I'm gonna be making on my channel about MainStage, Ableton, live gear and all kinds of fun stuff. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/j8_BRn7yDus/v-deo.html
Awesome ... Congrats... I have one question. I recently purchased a Novation Impulse 49 and I could't find an answer yet. Is there any way to set the pads to something different than key notes??? If yes... how?? Thank you a lot. Blessings
Unfortunately as far as I know there's not. I figured that out the hard way as I was trying to use the pads to trigger loops in Ableton and keys were being played. I ended up just getting a Korg Micro Control to use with Ableton.
So good bro! very clear and detail. May I know, how do you connect the roland RD to the mainstage? is it through USB? Is there any setting you configure so the roland RD can work as MIDI controller? Thanks mate:)
Hey this is so great! Couple questions as I have MainStage and am trying to get the most out of it for worship. I saw you used The Giant as your piano sound. Do I need to have Kontakt to use that in MainStage or can I just buy it for $99 and use it in MainStage right away? Also, I saw that you used Ian Mcintosh's Huge Pad. Did you just export that pad into your own concert? Thanks, again love what your doing!
Hey man! Great job - sounds really good, although the original song is a little loud in the background so it's quite difficult to hear what comes from you and what comes from the recording. But over all it was fun to hear. Could you go into some details how you set up your sounds and effects? Would be easier to understand how it works and what your intention was by setting it up as you did. Your video tempted me to start this song with our own band (www.impact-home.de) in our worship service IMPACT Chapel. :) Be blessed and keep on playing ...
Thanks man! Yea so the piano is Native Instruments The Giant and the pad sound on the top tier keyboard is Ian Mcintosh's Huge Pad patch. If you google his name you should be apple to find it. On the Native Instruments piano sound I'm also using a reverb plugin called Valhalla Shimmer that I'm manipulating throughout the song mainly cranking it up in the chorus/bridge. I also have some high ratio compression on the piano sound just to tighten it up a bit. For that I'm using the Waves Compressor plug in. Finally, on the pad sound, I have the Mainstage Auto Filter engaged that I mapped the cutoff to one of the knobs on my top tier keyboard. Basically that's just so I can brighten the sound of the pad or darken the sound on the fly for different parts of the song. Let me know if you have any other questions!
+Jacob Overstreet Music fantastic bro thanks for the detailed reply. I've been trying to purchase Ian's huge pad but the only issue is that it comes as a bundle only. I use the giant as well! Is this a patch you designed? I mean the piano. Is there any chance you can send me the cst or the patch if possible? Would love to have it :) I have the demo version of the Valhalla shimmer.. Also are you sustaining the pad right throughout? Thanks man
+Jacob Oversteet Music how does Native Instruments The Giant work? Do you import it into Mainstage? I love this sound and have found where to purchase it but don't want to make the purchase without knowing how to use it. Thanks in advance.
+Benjamin Myers you don't import it per say, but if you get it you will be using the VST within Mainstage. Check out Abel Mendoza from thatworshipsound.com he has some worship pianos made for the giant. The compressed piano and main piano are the most popular ones..

Hey Jacob! Do you recommend me Macbook Air with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD for using Mainstage 3? Thank you!
Peter
Péter Pálinkó I've never used a MacBook Air with MainStage but based on those specs I would say that should work!
Hey Jacob! Thank you! At last I bought a Macbook pro, 2012. It has more possibilities. God bless you!

Hi bro great vid. Could you tell me what piano you're playing pls? Is it a Mainstage stock piano? Also which pad you use? Thanks!

What's are your keyboards man?
luboetr hey man! So in this video I'm using a Roland RD-700NX and Novation Impulse. I'm also using a K-Board to hold pad sounds out for me.
Is that a RD-800?
nvm, it was a RD700nx
what piano do you are using?
Jovenes Evolution The Giant by Native Instruments. It's amazing!
When you really really want to use Mainstage 3.......but you have a PC. 😧
Try gig performer. Its insanely good and functions like Mainstage. In fact Gig Performer smokes mainstage in some areas
Emmanuel_S Music Oh, I have a Mac and MainStage now.
@@2014JAB hahahaa... Awesome 👍🏾

Stetson Starkey I was hoping someone would notice!
