Come back in a year, my friend. Seriously, I’m turning the peanut gin into a wedding/event venue. The high school is putting in a million dollar turf field. A gun range is being built. One of the buildings you showed at the beginning (to the right of the casket building) is now mine, and within the next year and a half/two years will be a recording studio downstairs and an apartment loft upstairs. The library had already been remodeled since you shot this. Also, drive through the neighborhoods and see the amazing work done at restoring our historic homes. Honey Grove was at one point bigger than Dallas. This was where people went for their shopping and their entertainment, their honeymoon and the like. I intend to bring life back to this town, despite the small-minded attitudes that have kept it run down for so long.
Joe Man Ya I was thinking the same thing! All those buildings could be easily retrofit with a new facade to do is show them esteemed and them 70s 80s whenever. Like stranger things or a show like that
I would love that! I grew up around Ivanhoe, so passed through there quite often as a kid. I will send you a message next time I'm out that way and maybe my wife and I could meet you for an in depth overview of the town. We travel all over checking out old towns. It's a fun hobby. Thanks for your comments
