When a nymph is dead it's legs aren't spread apart, they're extended but they're hanging downward, UNDERNEATH the body. When a nymph is alive then the legs are, as tied with rubber legs, spread apart. Just mentioned this as an alternative to the spread legs that's always tied with rubber. Think soft hackle, left underneath might be better for the alternative=dead version... Maybe a single, short stub of a feather on top, arising out of the clear epoxy on top would imitate a half-engulfed wing caseing...
Hammer Creek Fly Fishing Nice looking HCFF...have you ever tied it & others with legs pointing downward(ie a drowned emerger)? Just an alternative flavor...
It's loctite GO2 Glue www.loctiteproducts.com/p/go2_glue/overview/Go2-Glue.htm Really durable almost rubber when it dries. It has the right amount of "set" and it really does dry crystal clear. Unfortunately it isn't the quickest drying product out there...hope that helps
I agree with kim not a fan of rubber legs id be more inclined to use partridge.still a great fly though
Like it alot!
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice fly, great step-by-step tying video, thinking about a purple version with a rainbow bead & red rubber legs.
Thanks for checking it out! If you tie up one in purple I'd love to see it.

Great looking fly. I actually think it would look even better without the rubber legs, but that's just personal opinion :-)
Thanks, I tie them with and without! Here is the video of the legless version ua-cam.com/video/0Ae4e2MNilo/v-deo.html
