this song triggered a crazy experience for me. smoked a ton of weed then went to lay down and this song was playing in the background on the radio. happened in my early 20's. was in a point in life where i didnt have much meaning to my life and this experience changed everything for the better. will never forget this song.
this song released when I was 12-13, now at 31 it rings more true than ever. We are pathetic, nah I mean that. Truly, why are we even here? All the BS we cause and suffering, we got no excuse.
I've always felt a strong System of a Down imprint in this tune, from the bouncy rhythm guitars to the dynamic shifts from hard hitting verses to the slower, more melodic choruses. So looking forward to seeing these guys today at the 2022 Ottawa Bluesfest!! 😀🤘
2022 and still watching this. One of the best videos to one of their best songs. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and those Solid Gold dancers in this video are spot on. They are hilarious, and whoever did the choreography deserves a prize. It's s brilliant send up. This is classic.
i never used to be into them very much, but i went and saw them live and WOW. now im addicted to em. they put on such a good show. definnately a band worth seeing!!!!
When this landed.. I was a fan already. But I assumed that I would grow out of them.. Cuz they were punk pop kiddos and all 🤷 ..but then this album dropped and my respect for them grew like an awkward boner in gym class. So so happy I can come back to listen to gems like this here on UA-cam 👌
I love the way they use the early 80's video concepts! Brillaint, especially the camera work in the interlude, priceless, i laughed so hard. Got some very cool tunes these guys!
I don't like pop punk type stuff but this song is so different and awesome (the message! read the lyrics!!). I love it! I can't believe that they're going back to their old style. I think it's because the lead guitarist left (he liked playing harder stuff).
@@6961113Hypnotize/Mesmerize were System Of A Down albums released in 2005, while this Sum 41 song had been released first, in 2004, so, yes, close in time they were.
This song says it all we're all to blame in 2020, pollution , consumerism , selfishness, poverty, racism etc.... and many more . We lost the meaning of life 😨😨
This very well might be one of the greatest music videos ever produced and I'm not even really a fan of this band. The juxtaposition of the sinister lyrics and cheesy choreography borders on brilliance.
@@aquariusrecordsClassic, yes, but more of an 80s vibe as the real "Solid Gold" aired from 1980 through 1988. If they ever reboot the series, Sum 41 should be on the reboot. They already have done the parody.

i like the dancers they show the way that society tries to sacrifice its sence of self to make everyone belong but in the end they fail they always will fail because there will always be people who are not willing to sacrifice which is one of the true meanings of the song so the dancers have a vital part
I remember watching how these people were on a different set doing something appropriate for their outfit and someone saw them and were like "hey you all want to be in a sum 41 video? And they said yes"
I feel old starting my sentences with "Back in my day.." when I talk about fond things from my childhood. And Frequently Sum 41 comes up in Music Discussion. I really miss them. Can I just time travel back to those days. ;_;

patrick grondines what are some songs you have seen on retro lunch if you watch that
patrick grondines I have seen a lot of RHCP on much
The best Sum 41 song. Encapsulates all their heavy metal and punk pop aspirations in one epic track. All that's missing is pain for pleasure.
Mr Amsterdam is a killer song too
Only 1 million? This song is so underrated
My moist pussy's underrated yet I'm not complaining
+Piano Girl I rate that joke 0 funny and 100 cringe worthy since the odds of you being attractive and even a girl are probably slim to none.
+Eatin Paul I remeber seeing a comment not too long ago and she said she's like 13 or whatever so 😂 very cringey
One of the best Canadian bands EVER.
I love when they throw some thrash metal into their songs.
this song gives me chills... brings back so many memories

the best sum41 song out there!!! shit I remember when I when this came out I would walk to HMV just to go listen to this song haha
This is probably the most meaningful song ever to grace the radio of its time, and it's just as applicable today. Hurts
