I think this is one of the reasons why I relate so well to TFF's music. It's because of that old adage "your parents screw you up."
My father especially screwed me up and argued with my mother in front of me and my brother.
It's one of the reasons why I felt my relationship with my father was kind of stressed.

Ahh gosh- I've lost count of how many times I've watched and rewatched the French impersonation. :D :D

My grandmother, especially, was always so much fun. She passed away two years ago.
I used to think that it was my fault that my parents split up because I would always hear them fighting.

It was definitely a culture shock for him to be moved from one place to another and be apart from your father.
My parents split up when I was young so I know how it feels.

Well, I don't have any ilfeelings towards my mother. I only have ilfeelings towards my father.
As hard as he tried to be in my life he'd always put boozing above me and then almost 10 years ago I decided that he wasn't ever going to change and I said to myself: "that's the end of it. I'm not going to put up with you calling me at all hours ripped out of your head and expecting you to keep your promise not to do this."

Hello ritienne. It isn't that I "don't care" about my dad. He's the only dad that I've got.
But when you put alcohol above your daughter and son it makes you feel kind of shitty and unwilling to give him a second chance.
I gave him chance after chance to straighten up and he just didn't do it.
A few years ago he mailed me a letter and expected me to e-mail him and pretend that I'm fine with the way he made me feel all these years.
Well I'm not fine with the way that he treated me at all.

My parents split up when I was about 6. While my mother was trying to get herself established she sent my brother and I to live with our grandparents. My

It sounds like he resents his father for the way that he treated him.

By the time I was 12 I didn't exactly like my father but I didn't exactly hate him either.

Well, my mother packed me and my brother up and sent us off to live with our grandparents for an entire year.
Everytime she would visit with us she'd have to go back to Toronto and everytime she did leave I always got scared that she would leave and she wouldn't come back for us.
My dad wasn't any help at all because he'd get a job, hold down a job, and then he'd get fired for some reason.

I just didn't like that my dad never kept his promise not to drink in front of me and my brother.
My brother told me that he has a job now as a construction foreman which is good but I often wonder how long he's going to hold down this job.

Yeah I was young and I didn't know that it wasn't my fault because of that.

I wonder if he managed to resolve the "issues" that he had with his father before he died?

I'm 15 years younger than he is and I want to pinch his cheeks. :) I want to pinch Curt's cheeks too.
