    You should consider doing another version of this video. The music needs to be way louder, I can still slightly hear you talking over it.
    And you need to get those fans spinning even more. When they spin they generate energy which makes your pc run even faster.
    Also the camera is not nearly shaking as much as it could and should be.
    Can only rate 2 out of 5 bananas. Sorry.

      Have you ever had any issues with the air creating static electricity and harming something? That is what I always heard would happen but never tested it. Maybe just a myth started by the companies that make those specially chemical treated air cans?

    • @C3l3bi1

      you would have to put the freaking compressor tip literally inside the motherboard.

    Tip: Hold the fans still when you are blasting them with compressed air. If you don't, the air will cause the fan to spin much faster than it should and it will damage the fan bearings, massively reducing lifetime and moderately reducing cooling performance.

    • @CM-ei2ls
      @CM-ei2ls 7 років тому

      shit, I just cleaned it without holding them and they were indeed spinning fast af, how much does this reduce the lifespan of the fans?

    • @ScienceMarc
      @ScienceMarc 7 років тому +2

      - Chris - Depending on make/model it could take a day off their projected lifespan or it could break them all together. It really depends. Just keep in mind next time you clean them to hold the fans.

      Had some Bitfenix fans in my mother's computer and forgot to hold one down when I was dusting it and it totally wrecked the bearings in the fan, she has some nice Noctua ones now tho so it's all good, but still hold the fans down and don't risk a gamble.

    • @Benri05
      @Benri05 3 роки тому

      @Johanna Karlsson the compressed air slightly tilts the fan blades while spinning very fast, that'll put alot of load on the bearings.

    First compressors shoot moisture (Some more than others ) . If using one bleed compressor and remove all panels of pc (Both side panels and top ) This video was blowing dust from one side of PC to the other then after blowing out PC proceeded to blow side filter dust back into PC . Put PC outside on a SUNNY day to help dry any moisture in compressed air . Also remove all filters wash/ shake/ pat day/ air dry in that order . I also like to wear surgical gloves to keep hand oils from electrical contacts .

    I was very nervous to try this as my pc cost 3 grand. However it was so dusty and full of cat hair that canned air just was not cutting it. I purchased an attachment that connects to my air compressor then you attach the hose to it that absorbs any dirt and water so it doesnt come out the hose as I am spraying, I got this as a precaution. I cleaned my PC inside and out and it still works like a dream. My temps have dropped dramatically from 60c to 36c..Thanks for this video!!

    One note, be sure to hold your fans from spinning while youre cleaning, even low PSI airflow can cause the fans to spin past their max operating RPM which can destroy the bearing packs in the fans. just something to consider
    also using a moisture/particulate filter so you dont blast water deep into your components...

      Anyway your 10 years old pc has basically no air flow so that's one of the reasons it's not that dusty.

    • @Azurren
      @Azurren 9 років тому +1

      Gaming PCs should get A LOT dustier than older style, compact consumer grade desktops. Most older desktops had a single air intake (side of the case, CPU level) and expelled everything through the PSU.
      Whereas gaming grade PCs have intakes at the front, sides, bottom (Very dusty) and expel through the back, top (and rarely through the PSU)
      Even with dust filters multiple large fans are going to pull in a lot more dust than one pitiful fan which is hardly causing any air circulation. Combined with huge heat sinks and fine meshes they are going to trap more dust than a single, small, block of aluminium with a few grooves cut out of it.

    You need to stop the fans from spinning, spinning the fans when cleaning not only causes them to wear out since they are not designed to spin that fast, but it also gets dust and shit stuck in the bearings and will destroy the entire fan bearing.

    ok 1st of, if u plan on the doing the same as shown on the video, get a compressor who doesnt take humidity cause some compressors can , then u can short your components, 2nd of , hold the fans in place , it could damage them

      Francisco Oyarzun G. That's the theory i know. In practice it dont matter. How i know, well 15 years i done that. I like it when it blows the water cos it cleanse so well and humidity it's just vapourise so quickly. So that's the truth in practice. Not a theory.

      its not because you've been lucky & maybe you live somewhere that is very dry , it already happened , & can happen , like when u dont hold fans , it can damage & make the fans more prone to fail , i'm a computer technician & have lot experience too ;) i hope you ground urself aswell before handling all this , but thats up to you , maybe you ve been lucky up til today , these kind of failure are much more rare nowadays but can still happen with some components ;)

      That has been myth busted so many times. Not true at all. Check out Carey Holzman's channel. He is the New Egg DIY Garage spokesman. He also has his own channel. He myth busted that long ago with other things too. It won't hurt your fans at all.

    • @barakas49
      @barakas49 8 років тому

      Mat cool
      An air compressor is not the best thing to be using. Carey Holzman uses a leaf blower. Blowing at a much less strong air flow. IDK why people would use an air compressor. Air cans for computer cleaning or Leaf Blower at a distance.
      But you won't short things out like this is the point. Maybe you put too much air pressure on the fans causing them some harm. This is why you don't use an air compressor. It's very powerful. Too over powered for computer work.
      Which is a totally different argument from can blowing air on a fan cause it to short out with electrical charge. That's the point I was making. If you blow air at something with too much power it could damage the mechanics of it. That is different from an electrical charge and short out.

    Guys i have a question:Is it safe to clean my PSU with compressed air?Will it take any damage?Is there a chance for other components to take damage too?

      WorldGuiness Comments i clean psu, gpu, basically everything about 15 years now. I do it every 4 months more less and i got 3 pcs. So far nothing bad happened. Don't read those comments telling u it will break. It's pure none sense.

    Isn't an air compressor the last thing you use to clean a PC because their is moisture in an air compressor...?

      +Bechara Saykali Gotta worry about moister. I have an air compressor sometimes you will get some water from the tank. PS- i have used an air compressor on a older Pc and it never messed it up but i would go with something like a DataVac.

      You can get a $10 shot fan from walmart and put a carbon activated filter on it with straps so you can clean inside with the fan catching everything coming off. I got a core x9 thermaltake case fully loaded. Heavy af lol.. Trying to decide between air compressor and data vac.

    When doing this always make sure that the fans dont start spinning by the air, it will build up static electricity and deliver a PC killing shock..

He has all kinds of myth busters. It's a commonly held myth. But it is a myth. He proves it wrong on his channel. He has built 25,000 computers, repaired thousands of others and is the New Egg DIY Garage spokesman.

      @@88frko88 Compressed air usually used to clean a dusty computer which may result in fans spinning around fast WILL NOT KILL your computer at all. That myth has been busted so many times. It's OK to blow out the dust on your computer with compressed air. It will not hurt your computer. It's a myth but a commonly held myth. It is not true at all. It won't hurt anything. Your fans spinning do not cause enough static electricity to damage anything.
      Follow the Carey Holzman channel. He has many myth busters on there. You will learn a lot on his channel. Search for him and follow him.
