Victoria looked so cute with her plaits and large shade hat. Appreciate every moment of watching any area of graft and hard work you both undertake. Your good Taste in choice of deco. Love your videos.
For working in the heat, men's white 100% cotton dress shirts are often available in thrift/op/charity shops (or you might have some on hand, as vestiges of a former life?). They don't have to fit, as long as they're large enough for comfort. Cuffs can be rolled up or cut off, and the standing collars do a great job of protecting the back of the neck.
Lisa, He already explained why they shouldn't do that, and it's because on inspection they would have to pay extra taxes because it would be considered a pool. Got it ?
@@billgreen1861 No need to be rude. I must have missed them mention that also, and some 30+ people at this point also thought this would be a lovely idea. Folks just like to share ideas! Got it? 😉
@@NoDecaf7 I'm 82 years old and I've never been rude to anyone. Now show me where do you think I was rude. Because I can honestly assure you that you are mistaken.
To paint a rough surface like your tank use a thicker roller and roll from the bottom up. The thicker roller holds more paint and goes deeper into the cracks and crevices. moving from the bottom up creates a wave of paint on top of the roller that flows against the wall and into all the depressions. You guys are the greatest. Keep it up!
I think if you used a roller with a thicker nap you would be able to get paint in the crevices more easily. You will definitely not regret having a plunge pool this summer! 💕💕
Regarding fig trees: My dad was very successful in rooting fig branches. His method was to wait to late fall, after the tree has fruited and dropped its leaves. Then he would carefully bend a low “ limb” to the ground and lay a heavy rock or three or four solid bricks on it. Before doing that he cleaned back all the weeds and grass and made sure the soil was amended with a little compost so the ground would stay moist and for roots to form from the limb. He left this, undisturbed, for sometimes a year…then carefully remove the rock/ bricks and be careful to not disturb any new growth on the limb. Roots should have formed, enabling you to transfer the new fig to a larger pot that drains and is filled with good compost. Place the new plant in a shady area and make sure it is watered as needed. Transplant the new fig plant to a well chosen spot, carefully chosen to allow it to get plenty sun. Depending on the type fig tree you plant ( seasonal or everbearing) make sure it is well watered during the super hot, dry weather in the summertime. Be careful when you strim around any fruit tree because it can hinder the plant if its trunk is damaged. Good luck.💕
Hey guys, being a Portuguese guy from a little town in the Center of Portugal (hi neighbours) of course I know what is that animal, in Portuguese we call it “Saca Rabos” what means in English Egyptian Mongoose!
Not having watched you videos in sequence may be I should not be passing a remark BUT I have noticed a HUGE DIFFERENCE to the appearance of the olive grove trees & lawn , you have got it all looking so attractive & tidy. I do enjoy Life by living . Thank you. 💖
Hi, i live in Portalegre and we get a lot of sacarrabos, mongoose, although they don't tend to eat our oranges. They also dig little holes sll over the place. Did it have a tuft on the end of its tail? Or maybe a pine martin. You guys work so well together great channel
Hi Victoria. A craft project for your cucumber garden asap. Using pairs of same size terracotta pots caulk hole in one pot, glue rims of two pots together so waterproof join. You now have porous water bottles. Next bury a few in garden bed with open holes visible. Fill with water. Plug holes, eg cork, plastic lid, etc to prevent evaporation. Top up as needed. Result is slow trickle of water through porous terracotta to plant roots and alters soil's waterholding characteristic. Very water efficient and effective in arid climate. As the soil looked so bad I would still water with hose, but that soil is highly unlikely to hold water - hence having slow moisture jars. Suggest building pumpkin and melon beds now, while you have green grass. Dig down 15cm. Fill hole with green grass free of seeds and bulbs plus fallen brown leaves plus chopped up fallen fruits plus household scraps plus part bag of chicken, sheep or cow manure plus part bag of blood and bone. Cover with the removed soil, water and cover eg with hession bags used for grains . Heat and moisture will quickly create rich water holding soil. When matured, dig bed with fork to mix bad top soil and new soil and plant and mulch with hay as usual. Using terracotta pots in this good soil will reduce hosing (water useage).
I’m just looking forward to seeing the 🐕 🐕 plunging into pool. Doggies may need a couple of floaties.😂 This concrete paint job reminds me of when I sealed my basement concrete walls and felt like I was never going to be done. I did apply it with a 5” brush too since walls were so porous then the 3rd coat was rolled on which made it look smooth. All projects are a learning experience. I learned I’m never doing that again!😅
I would personally build a stone wall around the pool. No need to paint it then, and it will look nice. Maybe some tiles for the top so you do not damage your clothes when getting in or out the pool.
Great work folks! You may want to consider applying a pool-grade coating to the tops of the blocks. Their rough texture will be rough on your behinds. The coating will make it smoother and comfortable for you to sit on. Can't wait for the next video!
You two make hard work look fun! I look forward to your episodes each week for Scottsdale AZ, thank you Ricky and Victoria. Cannot wait to see the finished water pool. Stay cool😊

Great job on the plunge pool! Seems to me it’s more than just a nice way to cool off - with all the hard work you two do heat stroke always a possibility and is no joke. Just a wonder on your luscious oranges: given how hot, sunny and dry it is there, maybe slice them and lay them out to dry? Of course that’s adding another job to the list, so maybe a bad idea😂. Anyway, thanks for another beautiful video - that sunset at the end? Spectacular! Have a great week❤️☮️

Plunge pool looks great and will be the place for the summer. No idea on the Orange eating animal as not blessed with orange trees in Kent UK. One thing I have learnt from growing food is slugs like places to hide near their food and the stone around the cucumbers is perfect. I set my beds up with bricks and wood around the edges when I started but now I don't have any edges that the slugs can hide in. Not certain what the slug population is like in Portugal but here they can eat stuff as fast as I can grow it.
Critter is a mongoose. They eat the inside and leave the peel. If it was pigs they would eat the whole thing. It likely won’t bother you at all but if you ever get chickens make sure their area is secure because they love a chicken dinner!
A couple of ideas . . . Will you have a stair constructed on the outside so the dogs and yourselves can climb into the pool? And as well a step on the inside for climbing out. Victoria, if you have a large work mans handkerchief, roll it from far corner to corner so it's even longer, then wrap and tie it around your head.
