- Fantastic Friday turned out to be kind of a let down. We tried to take advantage of the gas station near us that is going out of business, we were hoping to get our hands on some of the 90% off candy. But, we were too late to the party and most everything was all sold out🙁 Austin had his first run in with the police! This was his first experience with the cops since he got his learners permit and he was scared out of his mind. So much so that he completely forgot how to drive and all the things he's learned went out the window! The reason he got pulled over ended up not even being his fault..... BUT who's fault was it?

Better the first time with dad in the car than a couple of years from now without any help.

I can relate to Austin. When I was learning to drive, I was driving with my mom and got stopped. I was so nervous. The police officer didn’t think we were wearing our seatbelts, but when she saw we were, she let us go.
You need some kick back mud flaps, clay!
Ones that attach to the bumper or some fender flairs, I haven’t seen a lifted truck with fender flairs that don’t look bad A**!
or lift your truck again. LOL!

Don’t feel bad! We only have 1 gift under the tree. I’ve been able to get some presents but haven’t been able to afford wrapping paper 🤦♀️! The kids are itching to see some stuff under the tree!
Hello McNeel family hope your having a wonderful weekend. Also Austin I've driven across Canada and the us been stopped for so many auto violations the worst was in Colorado State patrol stopped me because I had my trailer ball you have the same or similar trailer hitch well this cop said that the actual ball hung to low and was dangerous to other driver's I also have a lift kit in my truck I was amazed at the young cop's boss came to the road side and ask just what are you doing your giving the person the fine as it turned out he the cop was 100 percent in the wrong well I had a ticket for $180.00 us dollars when his superior officer came and talked to me he explodes on the young cop and told him to take the ticket and destroy it the ticket so don't feel bad Austin after all they are I guess doing there job? In a lifted truck at least where I live if your towing a trailer mud flaps are mandatory no trailer you do not need the flaps so it's kinda your right if you have them on or not as you where saying Terri how many trucks are lifted and to Nick pick about flaps must be a slow day for crime also we had 2 7-11 stores in my town and they closed one the most convenient location as well Maby 7-11 selling out Carmen smart make your mom wrap her own gift so if she complains about the wrapping there is no one to blame but one's self good job Carmen please keep the awesome vlogs coming thanks
Austin, the next time you get pulled over for your Dad not having mudflaps on his truck, remember the three correct answers to the officer are: "Yes Sir, No Sir and No Excuse Sir."

I didn't get my driver's license until I was 20.
The first time I got pulled over was actually the day after I got my license.
This was back in the summer 1985, our daughter was 6months old and in her car seat facing backwards in the backseat.
I pull over for the police only to discover they were pulling everyone over when they took the exit to do a vehicle inspection. Back then the state of Iowa had a law that your vehicle had to have an Inspection Sticker on the upper driver side windshield and that had to be updated every year.
I was driving a 1970 Buick La Sabre and everything worked! Even with it having a huge dent right in front of the back driver side tire.
I was shaking so bad!!! The State Patrol Officer who did my inspection was very nice and when he looked aty license he said Oh!! You just got your license! He said don't be so nervous your car is in great working order!
I was on my way to visit my parents and when I got there I had to call my husband and tell him what happened. He told me only you would that happen to. We had a good laugh about that.
My son has a big lifted truck with no mud flaps, and has been stopped for it here in Phoenix Arizona. No ticket, just a warning. Poor Austin, good that Clay was with him.
Austin’s reaction is 10 times better than me omg I literally was like “ok put your hands on the steering wheel so I don’t seem suspicious” but my body went nope and I fricking threw my hands out the window 😂😂 apparently it was cause I hadn’t had my lights on but the cop was so chill he was like “I don’t care but I’m just curious, why’d you stick you hands out the window” and I’m like I have no idea I didn’t mean to I just got nervous I’m so sorry!!😂
Do you not have to put L plates on the cars in the US when learning to drive? We have to display L plates(L is red) and you have to stick it on the front and back of the car. X

Austin was a lot nicer about it than I would have been at his age. I would no have been happy about that. I’ve been pulled over three times all for ridiculous stuff. The last time I didn’t get a ticket
