Very good video however, you did not specify if the engine need to be in on/start or off Position to conduct the multimeter test?

Very good video ! If you have int. and ex. VVT, you can comprae the 2 solenoid and swap it to see if DTC follow the bad solenoid valve,... Same for sensor.

I am getting the p0011 and misfire cylinder 1 sometimes and after running vat cleaner now im getting p0420 i just bought front vvt oem seems more power but still getting codes 2009 aveo lt hold light randomly flashes and its not getting right amount of power and oil smells a bit like fuel. Did oil change about a month ago any advice also it seems to do it more when engine is cold and also on start up I hear a noise from engine area for about 2 seconds and it goes away 😊 thanks in advance

Hi there, fault on VVT may bring the misfire fault code but it’s normally a random misfire not only for a specific cylinder. About the 2 second noise, it could be from the VVT mechanism itself which happens only when engine is cold and just for a couple of seconds right after starting, this is the VVT mechanism issue (not VVT solenoid). But you must be careful if your engine has hydraulic valves tappet, if so, noise might be coming from there before engine oil pressure reaches to the valve tappets. When you said you replaced the VVT, you meant the VVT solenoid or VVT mechanism?

Hi! It might be a long question with background.
I bought ES350 2009 @ 223K miles few months ago. At the time of purchase tests showed P0011, P0012, P0013, P0015, P0016, P0017 and the engine is rebuilt. There was no issue at the time apart from 1-3 seconds upto a minute of rattling sound on start (cold, hot and sometimes while waiting at a red light).
It had 5W30 in it then at the time of engine service. At service the Oil guy told me to go for 20W50 coz the engine was old. My bad I listened to him, and from the time I started the engine after changing the oil, I felt something off. Engine felt heavy, it took effort to run and mild vibration on idling.
The next morning when I started the car the rough idling was wayyy more. The RPM was dancing, low and high on its own. The car wants to let go if I keep breaks on at D. Since then it comes and goes away as it wills. There is no check engine light. Since last 2 days the AC compressor doesn’t switch on if I’m waiting at D. As soon as I switch to N it starts cooling and sometimes it doesn’t work on P either.
My mechanic told me everything is coz of the VVT gears and timing chain. It needs adjust only.
I checked it again yesterday with autel scanner at the workshop and it gave P0011 & P0016 only.
He’s adamant that solenoids and sensors are fine as there is no check engine light.
All the UA-cam videos I saw, they keep VVT to be the last thing wrong but my mechanic is going the other way around. He didn’t check the connections, the sensors or solenoids.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I’m sorry it’s too long, but I had to explain. Thanks in advance.

I've had code after code with my Honda Accord Euro 2009. First I was getting P0339, so I replaced Crankshaft Sensor then P0341 started to occur, so I replaced both Camshaft Sensor Intake & Exhaust. I also tested VCT Solenoid at this time which was only getting voltage of 6V. I replaced VCT Solenoid as a precaution. Everything was going well, during my second test run on another day, P0011 appeared which is confusing me as Oil is new and I know the wiring harness is fine and the newer VCT solenoid is working within spec. I've cleared the fault code and will try again the next day to see if it re-occurs. 😊
