    This was an awesome video! Can you make a video of your entire sink and water setup?

    Thank you Michele Elliot I was just about to buy a foot pump - and I'm thoroughly grateful to have watched your video - it would be maddening to fill a pot of water and have to make 25 pumps or more each time even the 11 pumps for a cup of water for tea would have driven me to distraction with old one. many thanks you have really helped ! Loved the video

      You're welcome. Glad I could help. I've been using it quite a while now, and I'll say it's really perfect for usability and has worked flawlessly. I still empty it after every trip. I find with 2 people and a dog we use about 1 1/2 -2 gallons of water a day. Good luck on your build.

      Thanks. Glad I could help. The small pump was good for a starter, I never had any issues with it not working. I'm still super pleased with the new pump. I've taken in on several trips and washed my hair with it a few times now and it really performs well.

    Exactly what I was researching. Thanks for posting your experience.
    I’m currently using a Nemo tank with foot pump and sprayer. I have gravity drain for drinking water. This would be a nice upgrade.

      I can report that after several boondocking trips I still use about the same amount of water per day, it just takes me less time to pump it out. Good luck on your project.

    Did you say “mooch docking” at your sons house? Lol I love that phrase! Excellent video, I’m just getting started and desire to keep it ALL simple. Do you have a video on how you hook up your fresh/grey water to the faucet and drain? Thank you.

      The sizes here are 1/2 inch. that's what I used. It's what fits on the USA (states) fixtures. Both the foot pump and the faucet nuts take 1/2 inch. If you heat the hose in hot water it will be quite flexible and conform to different sizes if close to that size.

    Hi Michelle, were did you find that specific jerrycan to connect it so well to your pipe/hose? i'm looking for the right name for that tipe of lit but cant seem to find it..

    • @michele2017promastertravel

      The two blue ones come front Walmart. The lid has a removable disk to seal a hole in the center of the lid (so you can insert a spout like a gas can if you want to). I used a dremel tool and opened up that disk to accommodate the quick disconnect. For the grey water - that jug ( l love seeing the levels in my grey) is a wine storage jug off Amazon. Again I had to modify the lid to accept the RV flexible drain hose. Mods took me like an hour for all three lids. Go slow and wear a mask with all the plastic dust.

    Hi Michele, I was wondering, do the babyfoot drill holes fit the gusher ones? I am looking to go the other way you did and replace a gusher with a babyfoot in my boat. I just need it to brush my teeth and the gusher takes to much space. Your answer will be very helpful as I couldn't find this information online. Thank you!

      Since the video I've been in some really cold weather and had the pump freeze while I was boondocking. The pump thawed just fine and has worked- no leaking. I still recommend disconnecting and empty when you're storing your van. It's a hearty pump.

  • @musicisbrilliant

    This was wonderful and perfect. Thank you! The comparison between these two pumps was exactly what I was looking for. Now the ultimate question... How long will it last (and not leak)? :)
    Thanks again!

      Hi there. These units are made for long term usage on boats. The reviews I have seen from boatlife people say they last years with high usage. I've only done a few trips with mine and I'm happy to report that it has never leaked and I love the volume, it's working out really well for me. The key to no leakes is warming your tubes so it really compression fits onto the spouts. Good luck.

      @@michele2017promastertravel Happy to hear you're happy with the setup! Im just about to install mine. Got new 1/5" tubing. But are you saying I should warm the tubes when clamping them to the spouts?

    • @michele2017promastertravel
      @michele2017promastertravel  2 роки тому +1

      @@musicisbrilliant Yes. I boiled water and let the end of the tube sit in for about 5 minutes. It made the tube pliable so it slipped on. I've taken tubes off twice now, as I empty my pump if it's going to sit more than 2 weeks. The tubes slide right back on and I use the hose clamp to retighten around end. No leaking.

    Hi again, Michele...I purchased the Whale Gusher after watching your video on it. However, I can hardly pump it...seriously - standing on it full weight doesn't do a thing! Manually doesn't work either. Does it loosen up after it's used a while? Is there a setting that needs to be loosened? Does it need to be oiled or lubricated? I'd love to know your insights since you've actually used the pump..! Thanks so much!

    • @michele2017promastertravel
      @michele2017promastertravel  2 роки тому

      wow. I did not have that experience. Right out of the box the pump was easy to pump and use. It primed in just a few pumps unlike the small one I replaced that needed many pumps to prime. I'd say you probably have a faulty one. I would not try and open it up because you may disturb seals that will not seal again. I'd try and return it if you can.
