Merry Christmas, Nate and family. Solid move getting people thinking about target shooting the very day 2nd season starts. Keep them out of the woods. 😅
Nice! Great video to see the day after Christmas while I'm waiting for mine to get here! Ordered the exact same bow, 60lb all black 2023 peak38! Excited for winter league and 3d in the spring!
Unreal that draw looks so smooth, I wanna get an Athens so bad but I don't have a dealer nearby that sells them so I have no idea where I would take it to get serviced.
Interesting to see and hear your process. I've never shot a competition but would like to start. I'd love to have every arrow in the gold but I tend to throw one away every round or two. Still working on a consistent left hand and release.
Great Video! I just received my Peak 38 from Athens. How far from the end of the limb is a good starting point for the drop away cord attachment pad? Im using a hamskea epsilon. Thanks for all your great videos! You make it easy for us do it yourself types to learn new skills!
I find it interesting to compare different styles. In the UK Bowhunter Unlimited lets me run a 12 inch front bar but no back or side rods, 4-5 pin sight and no magnification, No kisser or nose button allowed.
If vertical discrepancies are weight ratio between front and back, would horizontal discrepancies be the angle of the back/side bar. I tend to have to move the bottom of my bow to the right (I’m lefty) to level, and float left to right.
Elite lost all if its dealers within nearly a two hour radius of me. Really hard to keep or sell bows with no customer base around them. They make great bows, and I have zero issues with them! They're just not on our radar to sell at the moment.
As he said there seams to be much less of market for elite on the East cost and even hear where I am in KY the market for elite is extremely small the most sold elite I’ve seen is the Ember as they are a great budget bow and I think one of the best they make
Good day. Do you think that building the target rig to USAA/WA rules means we are pretty much covered when shooting under other rules/organisations? In short, USAA/WA rules is like jack of all trades for bow setup? Thank you.
Is Athens Archery a subsidiary of Elite ? I see they are located in the same town as Elite which is in the same state I live in. Athens bows look like nice bows.
I would have have you do the string replacement and tuning every year in my energy 35 if I lived closer to your shop. I’m on the New York side of the ny-penn border 3 hours away.
Qualified 25th, should've Qualified 7th but had a disqualified arrow. Broke through eliminations to top 16 before elimination. Was solid enough! Thanks for the congrats!!!
You never mention darton products lol 😆 they are the founder of most archery performance bows who followed them. Matthew bows are like comparing a old Volkswagen bug to a Cadillac. Lol 😆.
Darton hasn't been relevant as a bow builder on the main stage for a while. Yes, they've stayed alive by making patent money, but it's running dry. Hence why they're trying to bring on top end shooters back into the fold to boost their presence in selling bows.
And Athens know there is an issue with the bows chewing cables and that they need an upgrade which they supply free of charge but surely it would be better to fix the issue before the bows are shipped ?
The cables were a GAS string issue. Was resolved free of charge to anyone who experienced it. GAS used the softer serving that they use for bows like Mathews and their backwards roller. The Athens needed something firmer and since the change there haven't been any issues.
Yea I’m aware of the cable issue reason, I think my annoyance was that they were still shipping bows which did not have the better serving despite knowing about the issue . Don’t get me wrong I shot my best indoor round with a peak 38 so far this year and won many tournaments with a vista in outdoor season .
If you look at the cam shims they are to big and act like brake shoes ! Fun fact I machined the od of the shims so they did not fowl the bearing like a brake shoe and at 90 meters it made the difference of a foot ( the arrow hit a foot higher ) I brought it to Jim’s attention and he got it , I wonder if it’s been rectified. It’s also the same on the vista bows . Check for yourself
thanks for this! excited that you made this video!
You're so welcome!

It’s super weird for me hearing season’s just starting places I started season in the fish weekend of September and still have season till mid January
Congrats on ur win.
Thank you!
Outstanding Video.
Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Really like your videos. They are always getting me thinking.

Great tutorial video, and great technique tips.

love your vids hope the shop is doing great!
Thank you!
You, Sir, are a wealth of information !
I appreciate that!
So at Lancaster Classic you can shoot glue in points in bowhunter? Any idea what style of events you have to shoot a screw in point in bowhunter?

I go 2.5-3".
Im hoping to shoot a few Athens at the ATA show.

Yes. Back bars are used in weight and angle to balance the bow on a horizontal plane if you will.
Just out of curiosity why did you stop shooting Elite bows or not become a dealer?
Ditto?
Elite lost all if its dealers within nearly a two hour radius of me. Really hard to keep or sell bows with no customer base around them. They make great bows, and I have zero issues with them! They're just not on our radar to sell at the moment.

Are you going to tac in beavers bend this year?
In OK? Heck no. Lol. Way too far away. I'll be in PA Seven Springs.
@@averagejackarchery well crap lol. I was hoping you'd take the journey. It's a great course
Hello I was looking into purchasing one of the bigshot targets. I was wondering how that have been holding up for you? Thanks
We have been throughly impressed with their range bales and have sold many of their 450X targets and have yet to receive a single customer complaint.
@@averagejackarchery thank you for your reply!
Good day.
Do you think that building the target rig to USAA/WA rules means we are pretty much covered when shooting under other rules/organisations? In short, USAA/WA rules is like jack of all trades for bow setup?
Thank you.
World Archery has different quirks than USA rules. Have to build specifically for WA. I'm mentioning more USAA specs here in this video.
Would this bow work for bow hunting?
Absolutely!
What are the length and brand of those stabilizers? Thank you
You really should listen to the video as you watch it. Like I explain, they're 11/7", BowFreak Stabilizers made here in Central PA.
@Average Jack Archery thank you I must of missed it, but I will definitely check them out.
Is Athens Archery a subsidiary of Elite ?
I see they are located in the same town as Elite which is in the same state I live in.
Athens bows look like nice bows.
No, Athens is a stand alone company based in the same town. No financial business affiliation whatsoever.

@@georgemyers6518 I've had folks drive from all over the northeast for me to keep their equipment in top shape!
Noticing everybody throwing thier bows to the side after the shot, what's the reason for that?
I see you were 25th at Lancaster, congratulations!
Qualified 25th, should've Qualified 7th but had a disqualified arrow. Broke through eliminations to top 16 before elimination. Was solid enough! Thanks for the congrats!!!
I shoot with 2x readers so essentially I'm doing the same thing as a clarifier peep right? Great informative video I subscribed 👍
For all intents and purposes, yes!
Do any of the Athens target bows fit a 26 inch draw length? Love your videos
Yes. Both the Vista 33 and 35 (probably 35 for your target shooting in mind) go down to 26" or lower.
Which one would you recommend for a first time target shooter?
Can't go wrong with either. The 35 might have more stability for you, but the 33 is perhaps more suited to your draw length.
Nate do you sell the lite kits for sights. I would like one for my spot Hogg fast Eddie xl double pin
I do not. Buy directly from Illumapin.
Have you given up on the Elites?
I don't sell them in my store. They make good bows.
Let’s play a Christmas game. Eat a cookie every time Nate says “egregious”
400# later.....
🏹🎯👍
On the 2022 peak 38 u can pull a good half inch into the wall with not to much effort which like you say gives a deviation in height
I like the fact that target bows are long....and hunting bows aren't. Hmm, is this an accuracy and stability thing?
It's like I said: I don't carry my target bow very far 🤣
You never mention darton products lol 😆 they are the founder of most archery performance bows who followed them. Matthew bows are like comparing a old Volkswagen bug to a Cadillac. Lol 😆.
Mathews bows are the best on the market. And the hold there value.
