article19(1) (g) Constitution, guarantees certain fundamental rights, subject to the power of the State to impose restrictions . Don't presume just by reading one liner you don't get whole knowledge ,read whole article content as well the state has right to put restrictions . Tomorrow if arts , commerce students started to l say that allow them to give gate and engineering services exam so they won't be allowed to do because they don't fulfill engineering criteria hence they will not be allowed to give . Supreme court judgments in conclusion regarding this from past cases goes like - "The eligibility criteria set by institution cannot questioned on the ground of article 19 , commissions /institutions has right to decide syllabus, eligibility as per there requirements , the courts doesn"t have expertise in doing so and hence we have no jurisdiction " hence rejected , so the court will not entertain any petition. So , tomorrow you can't say i want to become judge just by doing engineering , you have to pass several criteria for that 😂. So don't assume anything, parliament can do anything it may not allow engineers to take humanities optional 😂 god knows . The parliamentary committee's recommendation are taken very seriously and is prepared wisely by educted scholars recommendations . Even I am engineer and I advise to be ready for worse !

The way they have set CSAT this year, this clearly shows that UPSC favours the engineers.
Naaah, that was more inclined to management papers like CAT. Engineering Maths is different and involves logic like Discrete Mathematics. not Aptitudes based problems. Well if it raises the level of prep at least India will get better officers I think? In any case I'm an engineer and the CSAT was hard for me as well this year. Will definitely try harder next year, good luck to you as well.

India's Population (140 crore) crossed China's Population and unemployment is biggest issue to solve Reform is mandatory in UPSC CSE.
I think every student has to give only 2 preferences in their DAF. Incase of betterment or re attempt they can only try for the 1st preferred service.
Sir medical, science, humanities and law graduates are also deserving candidates for civil services why these much engineers get into civil service they actually lossing their engineering skills by not doing the job in the field of engineering and also humanities ans science graduates have limited number of job opportunities and also engineering graduates taking their job opportunities not only in upsc cse exam but also in ssc, banking, state psc etc. This is the worst situation that happens from the past few years.
When an engineer has to study history why don’t they can study and clear csat
First of all, If a person has the mental acumen and willpower to clear UPSC prelims or mains, then he/she can definitely clear state PSC prelims, by promoting them to mains or allowing them to give State PCS mains without state PSC mains will undermine the efforts of State PCS aspirants. If an aspirant is preparing for the UPSC exam then he or she should give the state PCS exams, if an aspirant made a conscious choice not giving state PSC EXAMS then why should they be given a second chance to write state psc mains, when he or she deliberately refrained from giving state PCS exam in the first place.
And General Candidtaes must be given more attempts or increase age limit because, what I feel the real losers are being from general category than others. This is definitely also one of the main concerns. They r bothered why engineers are getting into upsc which is pathetic how can someone who is not interested be pushed into preparation if they think ppl from other background are not applying. It actually a subjcet of personal choice. They must make the ground levelled to the general category students this is what they must think as this itself shall be a great help!!
OBC and SC/ST Category enjoys Age limit beyond 35 and 37 respectively....even State PCS up-to 40yrs....This is Complete injustice to General Candidate who suffers due to upper Age limit to 32yrs only. Age must be relaxed to 35yrs for General candidate followed by reserved candidates for UPSC CSE many candidates will be benefited.
@@hemantsinha9267 yes. I am not understanding why r they not able to see this issue?More over age criteria from date aug 1st shall decrease one attempt for those who were born before that date. Like I lose an attempt because of this on top of being a general category student. What is stopping them to think for general candidates is not known.

As Administration and maintaining law & order is primarily a state subject, the process of selection of state pcs officers should not be overlapped with UPSC. As PCS officers are the first contact point with the locals and most of state pcs have reservation for their domiciles to ensure locals are receuited and a healthy relation with ppl is develped. however when a upsc candidate say from Nagaland gets selected in UP through uppcs via his UPSC Prelims route, he could not be able to develop such a healthy relation with locals.
also, state pcs mainly focuses on demographics of the state only as these are the officers who are going to work at ground level.
secondly, the purpose of state pcs is to ensure selection of those candidates who could not aspire for UPSC primarily due to lack of resources of difference in medium of studies. A candidate with all resources available to him will directly bypass him and his long duration preparation just because he did not able to get good resources.
Humanity graduates going for upsc will fall.....
Selected candidats from humanities will further reduce coz CSAT is too much for them....
Cycle of UPSC CSE process 6 months ki hone chahiye..NDA CDS haar 6 months me hota hai to CSE kyu ni hoo skta.. vacancies nhi hai to haar 6months me half vaccanies hi nikalo..but ye cycle km krdo..i m very frustrated..i lossed my 5 yrs on brutal process of upsc.. UPSC ko haal saal candidate to mil rhe lekin mere jindgi ke saal muje wapas ni mil rahe...
Upper age limit and attempt limit should be removed permanently
They should short the process, but shouldn't restrict someone to apply for upsc cse. It is a competitive exam not a compulsory exam for arts students.
Prelims is tough.. Actually..many good deserving candidate sometimes do not able to qualify prelims.. One year cycle is ok.. They could have 2 prelims.. Take avg score and then declare result..

Then will not be taking the mode of civil examination in concurrent list that might be reason that UPSC is not recommending the lateral examination pattern.
Second anyone if qualifies any level of examination then UPSC can send the candidates of engineers to government plus like drdo Gail ongc even in projects that Ministry have given to put companies like tcs conducting online exams of center or any defence projects that require engineers and same for medical related students they can get jobs in aiims or any other Centrally managed hospitals
For normal graduates or post graduates they can be made eligible to SSC jobs or post grads can be eligible for PhD if they want to pursue the same degree from central universities.
These steps might ensure the human capital and labour force participation would be tilting more towards employment number.

I don't know why you are discussing the thing which is almost impossible to implement in the near future.
There is drastic change in no. Of Engineers in our country so definitely % will be high. cycle is 1 year its the best possible timeline I can imagine. Issues are with no. Of attempts and age, rationalisation of services. Publishing Answer keys and showing copies helps Lawyers only.
GS 1,2,3 ko MCQ kar dena chahiye isse prelims me baccho ne Jo padha hai yo Kam ayega kyuki unha factual knowledge jyada chahiye ,Jo mains me utna kam nahi ata hai ...
And analytical skills, integrity check karne ke liye ETHICS Gs 4 and essay hai ..sath me optional jaise descriptive chal raha hai use waise chalne de ..
Advantages of these suggestions:
1. Language barrier khatam ho jayega. Kyuki regional language me paper complete karna thoda difficult hota hai.
2. Isme humanities and engineering background ka Jo issue hai yo solve hoga ..kyuki 5 qstn sahi hone pe 5 no hi milenge .
But generally jab descriptive paper me do candidate ko same marks milna thoda difficult ho jayta hai .
Bhale hi me content kitna same ho ..
3. Process thoda fast bhi ho jayega .
And bahut logo ke liye is exam ki preparation karsa asan ho jayega ...
Kyuki ..optional subject yo apna lenge Jo graduation background bala(mostly). Ethics and essay sabke liye challenging hota hai kyuki unha pe perspective jyada matter karta hai ..apke presentation se .

The Process of Recruitment in UPSC , Is simple but the Interview round where UPSC have a bundle of all deserving candidates , They can implement their balance there, But if People called for Interview are only from Engineering Background then UPSC can't blindly hire on the basis of Balance because it's the Top Most Job of the Country and Engineers have a natural or by mental aspects higher Aptitude, adaptability, and Greater knowledge of Tech, which can go hand in hand with Post of District development officer or IAS. Arts and NON-Engineers are good but should not seek UPSC As the only medium of Employment .
UPSC and SSC should be dissolved and a new method of recruitment should be brought which gives more credit to work ethics and performance rather than rote learning. Something similar to the Agnipath scheme should be implemented, which would allow a much larger set of candidates to start working in government services at lower levels and deserving candidates who perform well in 4 years of service should be promoted and the rest should be given a work experience certificate and a lum sum capital like it is given to Agniveers. The scheme can be called 'Kartavya Path' synonyms to the Kartavya Path in New Delhi.

Its not like that bro we have no problem with old pattern but the level of csat in 2023 paper was something else if they are going to ask such tough question then they should also ask questions from biology as well why only maths of 11th and 12th level ask biology in csat of that level also then make it more tough

sir i think those fell short by few marks in in interview (who is clearing mains cutoff from other categories(sc,st,obc,ews) but not in their own category/general) they can be given a reservation in psus and other central govt agencies.
For engineers optional paper can be only engineering paper. This way we can have more humanitarian subjects people

prelim score of UPSC can not be made qualified for state PSC simply because the upper age limit in UPSC and state PSC are different. In UPSC it is 32 years but in state PSC it varies and in some of the states it's as high as 40 years for general category. So streamlining is not possible.
Prelims csat score shall be valid for 2 years,once cleared then next year the cast shall be not be mandatory to those who have cleared csat previous year .
CSAT is favouring engineering graduates. CSAT becoming tougher would help engineers more and non-maths students would be at disadvantage.

First of all start giving question papers in Tamil , Bengali , Marathi and the other scheduled Indian languages. So that it truly reflects it’s an ‘Indian’ civil service not a ‘Hindian’ or British civil service.
I think UPSC can do one thing that Pub Ad. , Social Work/ Rural Development, Human Rights, Sociology, Political science, History, Geography any one humanities paper should be mandatory in Postgraduate for any field of students, especially for the Engineers and Medical background students.
But plz secure State PCS from outsiders' infiltrations. Eg we Maharashtra don't want non-Marathi should be allowed to give our state exam.

Upsc exam kabhi bhi One sided exam nhi rha hai...... Engineering wale history, geography, polity me week hote hai........ Agr ye pura exam maths per depends hota toh engineer hi nikalte har saal.....
Bahut se log arts se graduate hai jinhone upsc crack kiya hai......or baht se IITians bhi hai jo upsc crack nhi ker paaye.........
UP mei Upsssc pet laye for small clerical type jobs kya hua uska Pet 2021 wale abhi tak exam chal rahe hain.
Streamlining aur convergence nahi ho sakta. Age relaxation and state based knowledge ka role bahut rehta hai. State vacancies 5 saal mein aati h.
SSC वालों को जब Extra attempt और Age limit में छुट मिल सकता है तो UPSC वालों को क्यों नहीं

Bola gya tha IRMS banega engineers ke liye to hua kuch ni IRMS ki seats bhi civil services me add on ho gyi to engineers makkhi maarenge ? Engineers ki mazboori hai Jab tak fair Decisions nahi hoga Engineering candidate IAS ke liye compete karenge We engineers can't do anything now. We are not brain drains. Hamare liye Koi Services government nahi nikaal rahi Bas Engineering Services ka seat bhi ghata ke Civil services me add kar dia.
