The FT012 Definitely looks like alot of fun in a small package. The boats self righting feature alone should attract a lot of non swimmers & for someone who wants a brushless fast fun electric boat that's RTR for a decent price this definitely fits the bill an extra battery or 2 will definitely add to the fun factor❗Too bad mine stopped working after only one time use must have been a lemon sent it back so I give this RC boat a 1 out of 10 for duability👍Thanks for another great RC product review Captain Flyinryan👍👍 ❤
Now that's what I like to see! Fast, fun, and freaky! I would take off the door to the remote. A lot of folks I would imagine use full throttle a lot...then they complain when the motors burn out...same with quads! Good review as always!
+George Hopper Someone pointed out that the door on the transmitter can actually have the benefit of making sure the trim doesn't accidentally get adjusted (in transportation, etc), so I guess it does have some purpose that I didn't consider. :)
funny for me is that i ordered one a month ago and its held by polish customs for a week but today they finally send it to me so i'll get it tomorrow. and you upload your review hours before i'll finally get it. perfect timing. thanks for making my waiting more pleasurable, and for review of course 😆
This thing looks like a lot of fun. I have an rc catamaran that has reached speeds well in excess of 85 mph. The only problem is at those speeds you need a big lake and, just like the real catamarans blow over when air gets under the hull at high speeds. mine does that also. Catamarans are very stable but can't self rite. Plus, I have cracked hulls from blowing over at high speeds. I'm thinking about picking up one of these for hassle free fun.
I knew you would like it. A lot of the feedback on Banggood is about servo's not working and Esc burning, It is always important too check that your cooling intake is clear, after like you did, going through that Algae on the pond, can just be a plug in the intake. I used too blow on the cooling outlet. (had a gas powered one) Also just do a slow passing and see if water is coming out the cooling outlet, better be safe than sorry. That submarine stunt was great, bet you got a fright
DUDE amazing job with this video. You kept my attention the whole time instead of me just going to the part where you tested it. i overly enjoyed the vid, and learned just what i wanted. THANKS!!!
Great review and running video, I have been watching your last couple of RC Boat reviews I own a Traxxas Sparten It's great but I have been looking to buy a New smaller boat and after watching your video you have helped me make up my mind, that little thing is Awesome wow it's fast for it's size. Thankyou for sharing your video 2 thumbs up from me.
Never the less after that accident I don't really mess with boats because for some reason Ryan I am very accident prone. After watching your video with this beauty of a boat you have here😉I am thinking of making a comeback because you know I am more of a super super super fast Rc cars Like the Traxxas X0-1 or the Ofna A-spec. The boats I think are getting more popular again, But I think the drone helicopters are super popular now. But I really want thay boat you have.🚢
You've been doing quite a few boats recently. I like it. I think I should get a boat. I'm thinking maybe I should get the FT009. Great review! Well done! Keep it up
+Brian Evans Yeah, I had a few boats I was testing this summer, so I am releasing the reviews of them all in a row. :) The FT009 is a great starter boat! Ton of fun!
Hello, this is Boatin' Ryan here, and welcome to ..... A nice review man, i like this piece a lot. :-) Now if they only had the Miss Geico with this drive-configuration that would have been an awesome boat.
+Johan Combrinck Yeah, this boat proves that the Miss GEICO is not really excusable, especially considering this boat can be found for just over half the price of the Miss GEICO.
Another thing I have noticed is that in yours this first tube goes to the right inlet in speed controller ( looking from the front of boat). In other video Ive seen it goes to the left one. It looks like they have been connected randomly and it does not matter in what order they are connected
Flyin' Ryan RC hey sorry to bother you but I just ordered a ft012 and they are saying it's around 18 inches. Is it really that big? If it is that is great but I'm thinking 18 inches is the ft011
i need one of these! i bought cajun commander brushless airboat and wasnt really impressed with its speed its nice being able to run through grass etc but nothing like SPEED!
awesome job ryan ive got the sv27 and the mini mono brushless and for the price think the mini mono just met its match, thumbs up bud great review just because i dont always leave a comment theres always a thumbs up from me on all ur vids, keep em coming man
Great review. This boat really rips! I may actually consider getting a boat now. Hopefully one day they'll figure out (if possible) to incorporate the self-righting feature into a hydrofoil boat. (I believe you called it a "catamaran" Ryan) Then, with this drivetrain we'd have a super-fast boat! Keep up the great reviews. Multicopter, plane, m-cycle, car, and now boats. It's all good! Peace.
+Partok81 Yeah, that would be awesome, but I think the shape of a hydrofoil or catamaran simply would not allow the boat to roll over. They are too wide and flat. :(
I just picked up one of these and yes, it's a rocket - I'm not convinced the water cooling system works frankly. I know as mine came from the box, one of the hoses was kinked - you couldn't blow air through it so I doubt water would pass through it. I may mount a small camera on the side to see if any water is coming out of the exhaust port. If the ESCs are overheating, the cooling system could be part of the problem.
I usually blow through them to test them (and also to clear water out after a run). You can also usually see the water coming out when you make a pass right in front of yourself. I don't think water cooling alone is enough to keep the electronics completely cool though.
Yeah, after my first run (before I noticed the kink) I blew through it to clean out the water only to notice the restriction. Once I cleared that up, I then ran the faucet over the intake pipe, (real good water pressure too) and I didn't witness water coming out the exhaust port. If there IS a flow it doesn't seem like it will be much.
Just received mine today in the mail from Banggood, boat did not work right out of the box, transmitter worked but boat did not respond (led on speed control wont illuminate ) boat even in water ,battery good at 12 V ,also noted that the drain plug on the back of the boat with missing completely, writing banggood as we speak hopefully they will get this straightened out in a timely manner
Hi , Bought mine about a year ago with extra spare battery got it charged ready to go with batteries in the transmitter got to the lake as I thought needed to be in the water to start and nothing happened I tried transmission but no thing any idea what could be done? Appreciate
Really surprised at such a short run time! My ZMR250 racing quad has 4 brushless motors on it with only a 1300mah batt. and it gets longer flight times. Weird! Wonder if maybe they under sized the ESC ? Tnx for an interesting review. Next time, run it around the fountain! Cheers!
+Bill Somrak Well, this is moving via one tiny little prop, so the motor has to spin it *much* faster than a quad has to spin its four motors. And, the fountain is held in place by ropes connecting it to each shore, so I can't pass over those ropes. :(
Bet that motor in the boat is much larger than the 1806 or 2204 sized motors in quads. Probably has a lower KV number as well, but with a 3S battery, could still be spinning up pretty fast. I believe those KV (rpm) ratings are "unloaded", so it's a toss up as to whether a tiny prop in water is more of a load than a much larger prop in air. (I like thinking about geeky things like that ;-) )
I just got this boat-it's fast and the flipping ability is awesome, but mine leaks like a sieve. That's the only problem I have with it. Ryan-you got lucky that actually seals properly. I'm currently trying to figure out ways to seal it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
great videos!!! nice to have a place for good honest reviews.. if you had to pick between the WL913 boat that you reviewed or this one which would you choose?
+WRANGLER359 Well I ordered one,and one last question that I was hoping you knew. will it run larger battery's like 5000mAH 3s? or will that cause it to overheat?
WRANGLER359 They make a 2200mAh battery for this, but 5000 sounds way too big, and would likely either not fit, and/or throw off the balance of the boat, if not completely sink it. heh
Hey Ryan, I recall you mentioning getting a FT012 and have been wondering when you'd post a review. Wow, the 012 is a screamer! Sounds like you should let the boat cool down before changing batteries. BTW, I don't know how convenient an ocean is to you, but if you ever have a chance to run in the surf, do it. I ran my 009 in the surf, having a blast with 5-6 foot wave jumps. The self-righting is da-bomb!
+Steve S I am in central Illinois, so no ocean for me. But, if I ever happen to go on vacation to the ocean, I'll be sure to take the FT012 with me.... sounds like so much fun!! :D
Hello! The ft012 has the automatic foldback function, as in ft011? Ex: the battery has run out, then slows down, and you have about 2 minutes to bring it to the margin!
After your review and few others Ive made a decision and got one :) Im looking forward to try it out :) Ive noticed one difference in mine. Yours have this clear tube (from cooling system) going straight to electronic speed controller and then another tube going out from speed controller to motor radiator. In mine it goes first to a motor radiator and then from motor radiator to speed controller. Ive watched few other reviews and some of them are like mine and some of them are lik yours. I wonder if thats making any difference. Is there a couple different versions of this model? Also mine has this two inlets in speed controller (where you connect tubes) in black colour. Yours are gold. Shame that I cant put pic in here
Wow, 3s on that little boat, that is pretty cool, and very fast because of it. And yeah, weird the esc's burn out on some of them, the watercooling should keep it nice and cool. Very weird. Maby the esc is only for 2s? couldnt think of an other way it would burn out. The latch for trim i like actually. Had it on my gt2 transmitter, the latch is annoying at times, but when you are trimmed in, you should be good forever. This way you wont trim accidentally, witch i like. Had a lot of problems with that. You got it dialed in finally, put your transmitter in a bag, and you can start over. Had it a lot of times, very annoying. On boats an cars you dial it in once, and it will be fine forever, so yeah a latch is great.
I just bought that same same speed boat. The FT-012. I just bought it on 20 ebay for 100 dollars. After doing massive search I fell victim. I must seen about 5 dozen _videos of this boat I am sold so I purchased it. I got a good deal on it so why turn it down. This boat looks like it rocks.
How do you know when the boat is running low on battery power? The self flipping feature seems like a necessity for me but if the battery runs out before you can get the boat back to shore, a rescue boat would still be needed.
+makcool The boat goes into a low-power mode when the battery gets low, so you can tell by the speed of the boat. You can see it happen at the end of the run footage in my review.
Dude its looks like alot of fun I am going to use it in central park nyc lol. and I Staten Island where my sister lives because unfortunately there are no lakes where I live but that's no stopping me from getting it. I really wanted the Traxxas Spartan but that's way too big.
+Paul Santora Might want to check the laws first... I know that NYC doesn't care much for freedom, so I could imagine it could be illegal to run an RC boat in central park. :/
Hey Ryan I recently bought the ft011 and it is a monster!! But I noticed the rubber piece at the end of the pushrod slides back and forth allowing water to come in, could I use a sealant for this or is that rubber boot supposed to move
+Brittany and David Funny you mention that, as I just got the FT011 and took it for its maiden run yesterday, and the exact same thing happened to mine! Ton of water in it after the run. :( I haven't really looked into it yet, but that rubber piece should definitely stay in place. I think maybe the rod that moves through it sticks to the rubber and pulls it out. Maybe some sort of lube on the rod might help. I think you could probably glue the rubber seal into place, or whatever, but then the rod might have problems moving if it's sticking to the rubber.
Flyin' Ryan RC I bought some silicone sealant and put a small amount around the plug and hole. I think that had to be a big factor. I ran mine Friday for the first time. I actually put a bigger CNC prop on the back, a 435 but unfortunately lost it within a minute of the run because the hex nut came off!! Ive replaced it with the stock prop and may run it again tonight. I think some hatch tape is a must!
+Nikolaos Denikarias Well, the run footage was my maiden run of the boat, and I was not aware of the water leak issues at that time. I read about the leaks after that, but before filming the table top review.
+Flyin' Ryan RC by the way was dry inside ? I own this boat and I have more than 30 runs in the lakes and in the sea water I do a lot of procedures to minimize water leaks watch my videos
Hey Ryan, you may (or may not) recall the conversation we had about the trackballs etc.. I've just found one called 'Logitech trackball m570'. I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with it but you may like to give it a look. great review!! :)
***** I have an old Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro, which is going on 10 years old, or so, now. I absolutely love it, and all the extra buttons it has, which I can program to do different things in different programs. But none of the new trackballs have as many buttons, and it doesn't seem that trackball makers can to make them any more. I think maybe the software to allow the programmable buttons to work became too hard to develop, or something like that. :/
***** Yeah, my mouse essentially has 12 buttons and a scroll wheel. I can do almost all my regular actions in all my favorite programs without ever taking my hand off the mouse. But lately my mouse has been acting weird, and I'm fearing that it may soon die, and I don't know what I'll do without such convenience. It's probably saved me countless hours of tedious arm repositioning, just while editing videos, let alone all my other app use.
I have the FT012 it is fun but the Esc is not that good I changed two and now I can't even find Esc for my boat anymore. Banggood or other websites don't have it. I'm well disappointed that I can't use my FT012 anymore. Can anyone help?
Hey Ryan, Did you do a pre-run greasing of the shaft or bearings at the time you ran the ft-012? Is the boat still running ok? I really like your reviews!! Awesome job!
+Brittany and David I didn't do anything out of the box. But I do believe you are supposed to grease the shaft after a few runs. I have only run it about 3 times though, so I haven't done that yet.
I'm torn between this and the Helion Lagos. Lagos is smaller, slower and cheaper & bounces more, but it also claims a 10 minute run time. 5 min with this FT012 is just too little fun-time, especially for $90. Maybe I'll get an additional battery with the FT012 and let the motor/ESC cool down a few minutes, swap it out to continue boating. Wish it came in some color, too.
Hey watch our for that submarine dive that's how I lost my atomic barbwire boat there went $150 thought it would pop up and the motor must of kept running now it's on the bottom of the lake
Hey do you know what type of plug it is? Id like to get a 2500mah battery but i dont know what type of plug it is. Also wondering if you have a 2500mah battery, if you do, have you tried it out to see if it fits nice and snug?
Flyin' Ryan RC ok well my reservoir is pretty big but I bought the fto12 because the fto11 was sold out and I can’t find the atomik Barbwire xl anywhere for sale hope it’s a good choice I got it for $85
Update, upon tinkering found that connector between battery and speed control is defective and not making good contact notified banggood awaiting to hear back
I believe it slows down when the battery hits low voltage. If you want to be super-safe, they make low voltage alarms, which you connect to the balance plug. It'll emit a loud beeping when the battery hits low voltage.
man Ryan you need to stop making these video's its making me want one :P nice video my friend just to let you know because of you i've made my first 250 size quad and it's awesome so thanks :)
+Brittany and David No. It looks cool though. I will be considering getting it to review. I suspect it's pretty much the same as the 012, just bigger. :)
Ryan when pulling junk out of the propeller always and I do mean always shut your boat off. I cant stress that enough. You can have a serious accident like I did a couple of years ago. I had a boat with a cheaper brushed motor and a metal prop. It literally sliced my fingers to ribbons. I had to get three stitches on both my pointer and middle finger. You know why because I didn't shut the boat off and I had the remote in my hand and as I was clearing the propeller out. I accidentally pulled the trigger on the remote because I had the boat and remote in one hand. Creating a disaster. Blood shot every where. The scene looked like the set of a gory horror film. Anywayz you see the difference between a brushless motor and a brushed motor it's like night and day. I've seen guys with bigger boats and obviously bigger brushless motors and they literally for a couple inches off the top of the water. I mean these boats went faster then some RC cars that I know and that's fast. Well I really like that. What would a setup like that go for? And Ryan your videos are the best to keep them coming buddy
+Paul Santora Ouch! Sorry to hear about that! Yeah, it probably wasn't the smartest thing for me to do, but I do try to be very very careful of such things. As for those insanely fast brushless boats, they tend to run in the $400-500 range... and often require another hundred or more for the LiPo batteries. I know some of them run on dual 3 or 4S batteries, which can be very expensive! :O
Well, I did a Google search, and didn't see any current results for selling it. I went to the Atomik website, and they only sell spare parts. And I found it at TowerHobbies.com where it was listed as discontinued.
Hey guys, would u please check this video out please,? Problem 1 : Right Turn radius bigger than the left almost double times. It has sharp turn to the left but right turn not the same. Problem 2 : Boat suddenly turn right after straight drive about 5 meters. turn itself like i give right rudder command. Thanks in advance...
Flyin' Ryan RC At least a lot of the RC brands (such as Cheerson,JJRC,WLtoys etc.) have English names. And most of the model names are basically roman letters and numbers (H8,H16,CX-10,V222,FT012 etc.). I am a speedcuber and every single Speedcube brand I know(except Gan's) has a Mandarin Chinese name. Dayan Zhanchi,Dayan Panshi,Moyu Weilong,Moyu Aolong,Moyu Hualong,Fangshi Shuangren,Fangshi Guanying,Fangshi Shishuang ......It's like reading Dickens, you fall asleep just by looking at those cube names.
The FT012 Definitely looks like alot of fun in a small package. I bought a ft007 a while back and it dove 12 feet down in the pool and still works great
Now that's what I like to see! Fast, fun, and freaky! I would take off the door to the remote. A lot of folks I would imagine use full throttle a lot...then they complain when the motors burn out...same with quads! Good review as always!

One of the best boats out there period! I sure wish I had $92 ;P
+The RCAddict This thing is a beast! Absolutely love it. :D
Flyin' Ryan RC not bad...but it's stable reliable fun of my ft009 Brushless upgraded rc boat 4s ...

Cool boat, I love my proboat impulse 31, but be careful the water intake can get plugged up with debris and over heat the esc and motor.
I've been waiting for this review, I want one so bad.
If you click on US direct it's $80 on Banggood. Ordering one of these in a week or two for this summer.
+Sam McWethy Nice! That's weird that US Direct is cheaper than from China, in this case. Score! :D
Cheers!

+Bill Somrak Bill, if the 012 is like the 009, you run it full throttle or no throttle. Hey, like the RC Saylors say, that's all the fun!
Great reviews ft011 and ft012, but do think a 2500(ft011) and 2200(ft012) would fit for longer run times
Not sure, sorry.
Best out of the three so far. Only thing I can think of for burning out the esc is the inlet getting clogged with debris.
I just got this boat-it's fast and the flipping ability is awesome, but mine leaks like a sieve. That's the only problem I have with it. Ryan-you got lucky that actually seals properly. I'm currently trying to figure out ways to seal it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
They make tape specifically for that: amzn.to/1YcT2pZ :)
great videos!!! nice to have a place for good honest reviews.. if you had to pick between the WL913 boat that you reviewed or this one which would you choose?
+WRANGLER359 I would choose this one, because it has speed and maneuverability, and self-righting. The WL913 is really only good in a straight line.
+Flyin' Ryan RC ok i was somewhat thinking the same thing and its a lot cheaper. thank you very much for the input.
+WRANGLER359 Well I ordered one,and one last question that I was hoping you knew. will it run larger battery's like 5000mAH 3s? or will that cause it to overheat?
WRANGLER359 They make a 2200mAh battery for this, but 5000 sounds way too big, and would likely either not fit, and/or throw off the balance of the boat, if not completely sink it. heh

I ran mine in Encinitas, CA, early in the AM, before the swimmers and close enough to shore it didn't interfere with the surfers.
+Flyin' Ryan RC Central IL puts you close to my fav store; Tower Hobbies...
Steve S Yep, that's right here in my hometown. :) Hobbico (aka Tower Hobbies) and Horizon Hobby are both here in my town. :)
+Flyin' Ryan RC Wouldn't that be a heckuva paintball match; Hobbico versus Horizon?
Hello! The ft012 has the automatic foldback function, as in ft011? Ex: the battery has run out, then slows down, and you have about 2 minutes to bring it to the margin!
These are available in on line stores here in New Zealand. However, the cost here is NZ$236. That's about a day and a bit's salary.
my fto12 always likes to dive under the water, the longest time it have been under water was 2 seconds and still no water leaked in to the boat.
makes me a lot more confident with mine lol
Great video! Waiting for this one thanks
Shame that I cant put pic in here
GearBest might be sending me this :0 so excited especially after watching this review!
+JC Quadcopters Cool! This thing is a blast! :D
+Erwin Holland Good point about the latch. :)
+Paul Santora This thing is so awesome. You'll love it. :D
Hello good video could I buy a bigger mah battery so it could last more time playing it like a 2000 mah or 2200 mah battery?
very good job!!! so how is the boat holding up ???
I haven't run it since the review. With proper care and maintenance, it should hold up just fine though. :)
I am ordering one tomorrow. Thank u
That looks awesome! Great review.
Is it really 45km/h on the water? Cuz im gonna buy this thing. We have a boat racing here in our towb.
The FT012 is my favorite boat, but no one can tell me how fast it really is.
+Tom Bikonkav Comparing it to some of my land vehicles, I would guess 45mph-ish.
+Flyin' Ryan RC
The boat runs no 25 mph.
Try it nevertheless times with a GPS
+Flyin' Ryan RC hi
Mark Green Hello. :)
Flyin' Ryan RC :D is the eachine h8 3d comming (because its out of stock now )
Dude its looks like alot of fun I am going to use it in central park nyc lol. and I Staten Island where my sister lives because unfortunately there are no lakes where I live but that's no stopping me from getting it.
Great review. Great boat too.
I run it on 2s in the smaller ponds, and it’s plenty fast. Also, I have the ft011, and neither one of these boats has ever flipped upside down.
Nice video ,why you don't proof that not water enter in the hull by opened on camera the canopy ?
+Nikolaos Denikarias Well, the run footage was my maiden run of the boat, and I was not aware of the water leak issues at that time. I read about the leaks after that, but before filming the table top review.
+Flyin' Ryan RC by the way was dry inside ? I own this boat and I have more than 30 runs in the lakes and in the sea water I do a lot of procedures to minimize water leaks watch my videos
+Nikolaos Denikarias Yes, it was dry inside after this run... even after diving underwater, and testing the self-righting feature. :)
Wow shes fast. You must stop showing all this cool RCs. It's hurting my wallet!!! Good job!!
+Jaco (Hunteds RCs) Hahaha! :)
Hey Ryan, you may (or may not) recall the conversation we had about the trackballs etc.. I've just found one called 'Logitech trackball m570'. I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with it but you may like to give it a look. great review!! :)
+Meteor Shower I have never used one of those thumb-trackballs before, but I have considered trying one. I may not have any other choice soon. lol
Flyin' Ryan RC hahah yes you could be right there, sadly. I've never come across them before so it was a bit of a shock to me :D
Can I upgrade the stock 1800 25C 3S battery to the Amazon 2200 35C 3S battery and use the stock charger since the plugs look the same?
water cooled ESC, well then GO full speed the whole time so the water can have enough pressure to run around and cool the ESC.
I don't think water cooling works well enough to keep the motor completely cool while running full speed constantly though.
I'm getting one of those!
this thing is really fast swimming ryan rc
I have the FT012 it is fun but the Esc is not that good I changed two and now I can't even find Esc for my boat anymore. Banggood or other websites don't have it. I'm well disappointed that I can't use my FT012 anymore. Can anyone help?
Just got mine today, took it out and melted the center drive shaft mount thing completely. It is fun until it melts the center drive shaft mount.
Weird. Maybe it wasn't lubed from the factory?
Pretty sure it wasnt
Hey Ryan, Did you do a pre-run greasing of the shaft or bearings at the time you ran the ft-012? Is the boat still running ok? I really like your reviews!! Awesome job!
+Brittany and David I didn't do anything out of the box. But I do believe you are supposed to grease the shaft after a few runs. I have only run it about 3 times though, so I haven't done that yet.
Am I able to swap batteries after one dies or play time? Or will it overheat?
That should be fine, since this is brushless and has water cooling.
Flyin' Ryan RC thanks for replying back.
Flyin' Ryan RC I want to try my venom 2s 2100mah in it
I'm torn between this and the Helion Lagos.
Yeah, I would suggest the FT012 and an extra battery or two. :)
I have the traxxas stampede vxl and it goes around 40, i would think it goes around 35 as far as your boat
+BALLER Squad This seems about the same speed to me, but yeah, somewhere in that 35-45 range. Definitely not 25, as others have said.
Hey watch our for that submarine dive that's how I lost my atomic barbwire boat there went $150 thought it would pop up and the motor must of kept running now it's on the bottom of the lake
yeah it seems to have pretty good acceleration.
Hey do you know what type of plug it is? Id like to get a 2500mah battery but i dont know what type of plug it is. Also wondering if you have a 2500mah battery, if you do, have you tried it out to see if it fits nice and snug?
Deans or T plug!
+sqidink RC thanks!
Does this boat have a low battery alarm? Please reply sooon
My fto 12 battery overcharge, where i can find a replacement? Im in Philippines...
Does it take water during normal sea runs?
Any difference between 012 and 011? Which do you prefer ??
Yes, there is a very clear difference if you look at my review of each. ;)
thanks for sharing!
I’m trying to decide between this and the fto11 which one should I get ?
I would say that depends on the size of the lake you will be using it in. Bigger lake, go with the bigger boat. Smaller lake, smaller boat. :)
Flyin' Ryan RC ok well my reservoir is pretty big but I bought the fto12 because the fto11 was sold out and I can’t find the atomik Barbwire xl anywhere for sale hope it’s a good choice I got it for $85
Can you review the PRoBoat React 9 boat please?
Looks pretty cool. I will consider it. :)
Thanks buddy!
+Flyin' Ryan RC Hey, I found this amazing rc boat on ebay for about $28 AU. In US dollar its about $15.
That is brilliant ! :) love it! :) Thumbs up :)
+Drone Girl Would be fun to run in that Dublin bay you recently filmed at. :D
Flyin' Ryan RC Oh yes, and me following with the DJI P3 :) that would have been fun :)
take my money! I'm buying that
+N1R2F3 LOL
Update, upon tinkering found that connector between battery and speed control is defective and not making good contact notified banggood awaiting to hear back
what does the oil do ? does it make any difference to the way it runs?
+Jean Carlos Oil is for the shaft... you are supposed to oil the shaft every few runs, to keep it rotating smoothly.
+Flyin' Ryan RC ooohhh ok lol thanks :) I don't know that much about RC Boats, I saw this video and it made me want to buy one.
So this boat doesn't have low voltage detection...so how do I make sure the battery doesn't get destroyed?
I believe it slows down when the battery hits low voltage. If you want to be super-safe, they make low voltage alarms, which you connect to the balance plug. It'll emit a loud beeping when the battery hits low voltage.
@@theimacman Yea battery died out on the lake and respond couldn't get to it. Got dark, stormed wind picked up and haven't got it since 🤷♂️🤷♂️
great info review... good job
+Harry Shahrum Thanks! :)
Do U have to grease the shaft on theses ones
man Ryan you need to stop making these video's its making me want one :P nice video my friend just to let you know because of you i've made my first 250 size quad and it's awesome so thanks :)
+HOBOkiller15 That's awesome, I'm glad to hear that! :)
Have you heard anything about the ft011?
+Brittany and David No. It looks cool though. I will be considering getting it to review. I suspect it's pretty much the same as the 012, just bigger. :)
More boats and can u do some rc cars also?
+ComanderStryker23 Yep :)
+Flyin' Ryan RC sweet thanks!!
Where did you get the rack your boat is sitting on?
It comes with the boat.
thanks
you should review the atomik barbwire brushless boat
As far as I can tell, that is discontinued, and thus not worth reviewing at this point.
Flyin' Ryan RC where did you find out that it's discontinued
Well, I did a Google search, and didn't see any current results for selling it. I went to the Atomik website, and they only sell spare parts. And I found it at TowerHobbies.com where it was listed as discontinued.
Flyin' Ryan RC OK would you recommend the ft012 because I want a cheap brushless RC boat
Yes, I love the FT012! Also check out the FT011 if you want a bit bigger boat.
Ryan at this rate you should be called boatn' Ryan
Can you review the Zig Zag Racer 3? Thanks!
+cozproject That was discontinued LOOOOOOONG ago. :(
+Flyin' Ryan RC Aw man D:
+Flyin' Ryan RC Such a cool and zippy little thing too haha
just checked its on sale on gearbest atm
What is the difference between brushed and brushless motors?
In short, brushless motors are much more powerful and last a lot longer.
+Flyin' Ryan RC so they will last longer in battery? Or in how many years?
+Flyin' Ryan RC and should I get the ft009 or the ft012?
+Flyin' Ryan RC but I don't want it to go really really fast though, so how can I fix to make it go slower
2coolguys11 - If you don't want to go fast, get the FT009 with the brushed motor.
Hey Flyin,
I see you sprung for the Brush-less model...... :O)
Apparently the Feilun - FT012 is the Ticket.... :O))
What is the battery life?
It doesn't really matter at all since we all understand you're talking about Feilun. But Feilun is pronounced like "fay-lwen", just that you know.
+Pinglei He (Pinglei's Pen Journey) I figure I'm probably mis-pronouncing all these Chinese brands. heh I try my best though. :)
Dayan Zhanchi,Dayan Panshi,Moyu Weilong,Moyu Aolong,Moyu Hualong,Fangshi Shuangren,Fangshi Guanying,Fangshi Shishuang ......It's like reading Dickens, you fall asleep just by looking at those cube names.
a nice boat..!
How long take it to charge the battery?
I covered that in the review.
You should add a bright LED light to it.
should i buy this or a ft011?
I'd spend the extra money and get the brushless FT012.
Well it's decided now .. I gotta get me a brushless rc boat lol my wallet gonna be mad at you Ryan lol
:)~
