Mr Kasinga, thank you for finally bringing us someone from Obote's youth wing. For those who are too young, the youth wing was the most dangerous wing of Obote's machine. A big percentage of people who were killed during 1981-1985 had a youth winger somehow involved. if a youth winger pointed you out to the authorities as anti-Obote, you were taken to Makindye barracks and never returned home ever. it didnt matter if you were innocent or not; the youth singer's opinion was too powerful. If you listen carefully, you will notice that this gentleman hints on how powerful his wing was, and how they roughed up DP members. But believe me, that was just the tip of the iceberg. And now to my main point: Please ask this man about the brutality of this wing. Please let him answer the tough questions. 99% of Ugandans who were adults at that time will want this gentleman to talk at length about that topic.
These youth wingers had a lot of power. Majority of them misused it to the core especially at the start of the guerilla war; many of our people died at hands of these enthusiastic men and women.
Which is why I thought this man needed to tell us more about this. The word "youth wing" under Obote is synonymous with the word death. You could not dare clash with a youth winger over business, a woman, land, etc. If you did, you ended up being framed as a rebel, and you would soon be gone. No due process was involved.

Oyogede kitufu nyo era amazima ku powers za UPC. I didn't know much about Obote but I ended up in the bushes of Luwero triangle fighting UPC because they abused their powers by harassing other people. Don't get me wro wasn't Obote in person but his part members.

Btw still during Obote's regime most top military officials were from his tribe. U can try to pretend btw tribalism is a big issue here
