- Hey guys, welcome back to the channel! Its been a while since I've posted since I've gotten into BBQ and have been building my @Smokingmeatsbbq channel!
Anyway, if you have further questions on the NX20 or anything Spektrum related, I'll do my best to answer in the comments if I know or I will get the answer for you.

Hi i am upgrading as well i wonder if you could answer a question about spektrum radio i had a DX6 which i wanted to change to a recharge battery "correct type" after i took the batts out the radio went down "useless" after i installed the recharge battery any ideas, i currently have a NX 8 i have other radios "Flysky-Futaba etc none of these are a problem .
I fly basic im happy with nx6 loving it
The ix14 is the top dog here 😊 right am of channels, superb performance and really good pricing, and perfect size
I agree that it is a great radio for sure and likely perfect for most users

What are most channels that can be used for flight control surfaces? Is it 12 or 14 channels?
Great review, thankyou for doing what you do. I can't help but wonder though why is the information on the back of the iX radio has the information blurred out. Nothing really private about that is there?

Just to give a sense of perspective to how absurd it costs: you can buy 300 radiomaster pockets with 1 of these.
Yeah umm no. Pocket is like 50 dollars. 50x300 = 15,000
Better comparison is the TANDEM X18 which is $275 and can do so much more plus its dual band.
Wish I would've known that an NX20 was in the works when I updated my radio to the NX10 last year. The iX20's Android OS was a bit of a turnoff to me since I'm in the 🍏ecosystem but the NX20 is really appealing. I might have to put one of these in the rotation this year.
When comparing the Nx20 to the ix20 does the Ix have anymore programing features since its using a android operating system.

At 18:35, you mention the Hangar 9 P-47 30cc download. Is H9 reintroducing the 30cc P-47?

I dumped my ix20 for I did not enjoy the android/google stuff, now I sold my NX10 and DX20 in order to purchase this NX20 to update. The NX10 is really nice cost effective radio if are a Spektrum fan which I am, even though I at times express my free speech rights to make some criticisms here and there. What I will miss is the buttery smooth gimbals the DX20 has, in hope Spektrum will some day make these types available as standard on NX20 and or other higher channel platforms from the start. You could always offer a lesser gimbal version later as a secondary release to offer to those budget minded. I do know I will down the road kick myself for not waiting for the NX20SE, shame on Spektrum for not doing the right thing first. Oh and now in hope since I sold my transmitters my new order will not be stuck in back-order beyond mid May! Thanks for your review

are the ix14 gimbals less of a stretch than the nx8? Nx8 is fine but I would prefer less stretch to the gimbals and better ergonomics. Worth upgrading just for that? Thanks.
As in, distance from each other? I would say the 14 are similar in distance to the 8
Thanks for the reply. I mean stretch to reach the inside corners. It looks like ix14 gimbals are closer to the edge of the radio, which would be an improvement.
I never Would of thought I would use 14 channels when I started flying … I have reached 14 channels .. 😳😳 when you buy a transmitter buy as many channels as you can … I went through 3 transmitters .. Dx6e , dx8e , nx10 and now I am on ix14
Yep it’s crazy how fast you eat up channels as you get bigger and bigger planes
Hey you forgot to mention the cool feature when you turn it on and don’t get sound so you have to restart it. Wow what a great feature for a 1300 dollar radio. I’m sure glad your QC caught that bug before shipping.

You didn't mention the quality of the rear sliders. When I looked at an NX20 in the LMS I was not impressed with how sticky and ratchety those sliders were.
Do you think Horizon will follow suit as they did with iX20 and make an NX14
They really should do. There's a big gap in the NX range between the 10 and the 20.

I dropped spektrum a year ago and went Radiomaster tx16s running edgetx and never looked back. Look at how many radios these guys sell. Its all about dollars for them.

@@jeanmarieponchin5932 NX20 is aviable at our local Horizonhobby here in EU. But there is no sign of the NX14..
@@StevesRC I currently have a DX9 and want to upgrade but 20 channels is just more than I need. An NX14 would be perfect for me. Hopefully it won't be too long before Spektrum fill that gap in the NX range?

Lol even the HH guy thinks the NX20 is expensive. Kinda nuts to pay $1200 for a revamp DX series radio
Expensive doesn’t mean overpriced ;) I merely recognized its not within everyone’s budget and therefore expensive.
Soooo much Money for an old fashion Software OS... Spektrum even forget their old Products to be compatible... after nearly 10 Years I changed from Spektrum to Graupner to OpenTX with multi Protocol Unit: RadioMaster. So I can still Use my Spektrum and Graupner Receivers with one TX! And now, for the big Toys: I added a FrSky Tandem XE TX with 2 HF Modules (2,4GHz and 900MHz) to be redundent. And all of thes TX's are deep under the Price of that Spektrum TX in that Video... poor
