  • Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
To make this pendant you will need -
    • 21 awg square wire or round 0.8mm wire, 4 x 8.5" (22cm)
    • 0.315mm weaving wire (28g) 150cm (I wind mine onto a bobbin, but you can cut lengths as you go if you prefer)
    • cabochon, mine is 30mm by 17mm (you can use a similar size, just remember to adjust wire length and weave repeats accordingly)
I no longer put links to tools on here.
    The tools I use are:
    • Tronex needle nose pliers
    • Tronex short round nose pliers
    • Tronex razor flush cutters
    • Beadsmith flat nose nylon jaw pliers
    • Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
    • Occasionally I use heavy-duty wire cutters
    • Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
    • Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)

Hi Kelly, beautiful work as usual! I been weaving for about 2 yrs. I found that working with square wire is a
Challenge for me in the beginning. But I’m ready to try again with this pattern. The pattern is easy enough to follow and your tutorials are top notch. I love how you finished off that last wire with a swirl. In the past I’ve tried to smoosh both wires around the weave and end up wrecking the front. I’ve always found that “forcing” the wire is not a good idea because my final piece looks like a truck ran over it. So tying it off is just so simple and the wire just relaxes against the stone naturally! Brilliant, yet so simple. You truly are a wonderful instructor! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and craft! Can’t say enough about how beautiful it is.

Oh thank you so much, I really appreciate that. If you go with the wire, sometimes it takes you down a completely different path to what you first planned 😅 thanks again, have fun 💕

Hi Kelly, I've enjoyed your work for a couple of years now. I'm still learning how to be a jeweler, You said in this video to tell you if there was anything that we would like you to change in your videos to help us out. Well, for me, when you do your weaves, you only show the first run, which you do pretty fast, then your video cuts to you having finished the weave. Sometimes, it's hard to figure out the weave you're doing with just one quick demonstration. If you could do a couple of runs, slowly, that would help us beginners to see what you are doing. Everything else is great and pretty easy to follow. Thanks for doing the videos online to help beginners learn this craft. That's very cool of you. By the way, I've bought a bunch of your weaving tutorials, and they have helped me immensely. Thank you for making those available and at such a reasonable price! Keep doing what you're doing, Kelly. You're making a difference for people and helping them learn a new skill.

Oh thanks so much! Yes that's great, I'll do that in future. I try to keep the videos as short as I can, but yes, I'll definitely do a few extra repeats. Thanks for your comment and your support on Etsy, I really appreciate it 💕

Is your weaving wire half round?
