This is the first video I searched for on a Proportioner to get a better understanding and now I can see how they set this up on their trucks and trailers and you have just made this very plain and clear how it works. Thank you for making this video, it was an excellent demonstration!!!
Same, I’m looking for 2 days for a video like this one, seems plastic pipes/PPR/polyurethane or propylene like the ones from our houses, shouldn’t be more than 50£ to make one but some videos are telling somewhere at around 200£ which is way to expensive for few normal connections from hardware store
Great video, putting in the coloring to show us beginners what’s what. thanks for the visual and it helped that you put the key chart to show how to mix each one. Awesome brother.
@JN Equipment You suggest using 1/2" over 3/8" for more than 4 GPM (which I fully agree), yet on your website it shows you build those with 3/8" barbs. Why? Help me understand why you'd go out of your way to put in bold type how important it was to use at least 1/2" hose, meanwhile, you're building and selling these with undersized barbs?
Great question. The SPRAY hose is a 1/2 inch, the reason for this is 1. volume of material at the tip and 2. reduced backpressure in the line. But keep in mind that's the 200ft spray hose. What we are discussing here is the suction end of the hose. On the proportioner, we've divided the suction hose between 3 hoses: 2 - 3/8 hoses and 1 - 1/4 hose. which creates a total of 1 INCH ID of suction hose when they are all used together. If you are only using the Water and SH lines, you still have a 3/4 inch suction hose.
@@Spraywell I agree with part of your statement, however, if you're only using water, you'll be pulling from an orifice smaller than the pump inlet, which is the biggest cardinal sin for these pumps. There's advocates out there who swear you need twice the diameter of suction as your pumps inlet, which I think is way overkill, but absolutely nobody would agree that it's ok to use anything smaller that the actual pump inlet.
@@TroyStevensStelzerPaintingInc and @JN Equipment so what was the end result to this? The manifold outlet hose going to the pump should be what size? And the inlet hose for water and SH should be what... 1/2? and then surfactant at 1/4? (Some say 1/8" on suf... ) What are your thoughts? Oh yeah.. and the hose size leaving the pump to the reel? What size hose on the reel for a 5.5GPM pump?
Excuse me, what does it mean when you open all 3 valves and your pump isn’t sucking all 3 lines but if you close one valve or sucks the other 2 lines I can’t get my proportioner to suck 3 lines anymore I’ve only used it for 1 month did a few roof cleanings and it’s not working right. Is it maybe from not flushing the surfactant out of the valve? But I can shoot a water hose through it and all 3 valves water comes out the other end but when I hook it to the pump my proportioner isn’t working right. What is the problem? I also been using half inch hose for bleach and water and 1/4 for surfactant.

can you run the water line to pump from pump to proportioner then to gun? or will it not work well without being on pump draw side-object is to prevent bleach etc from going thru the pump?
I can only assume you guys charge 500-600$ like other sites. Better to buy all the parts for roughly 250$ and put it together yourself, this way you know the equipment your using and know how to fix/ replace parts
for that small amount I would recommend mixing your soap with water into a bucket and drawing directly out of that pre diluted mix. that EXACT of a mix is tough for this version for the standard proportioner. For super specific mix quantities like 1 oz per gallon, you could use the ELITE proportioner which is more exact with the mix quantities.
I bought a 4.0 gpm stealth softwash system off of you last year your website says that I need a 5.5 gpm or greater to use this propotioner is that correct. I should upgrade?
The 4 GPM doesn't have enough "pull" to draw from all 3 lines. You could use this propotioner on a 4 GPM system but I would recommend either plug the center soap line or always keep the center knob turned to 0 (closed) and only use WATER/SH knobs. If you wanted to upgrade and currently had a Stealth PRO 4 GPM Soft Wash system then you would need a larger pump (either 5.5 or 7) AND (VERY IMPORTANT) upgrade ALL your 3/8 hose with 1/2 hose. 5 GPM and 7 GPM pumps need AT LEAST a 1/2 hose and the 3/8 hose that your Stealth PRO 4 GPM system came with will cause issues.
