That's all due to Tire Size and Gearing. Shorter/smaller tire, TRX trap speed goes up.

@@doug350zTT tfl trucks done this with a tuned raptor and the raptor actually kept up and was only a bumper behind the trx with much bigger tires . Everyone agreed that raptor had a big disadvantage the race was for fun but they determined that if they both ran the same tire the raptor would have won very impressive .
I have a 2020 XLT Sport 2wd 3.5 ecoboost for my daily driver. Mods are 5 Star E30 tune, drop in K&N filter, and SPD turbo adapters. Ran into one late at night and didn't realize what it was until I was passing him and he revved at me. Sounded good but he wanted to play so I figured why not knowing most likely I would lose. I switched drive mode to sport and turned traction control off. We were already going about 75-80 when he hit it so I just laid into it. By the time I was at about 130 he was behind me a bit. He stayed back until I exited. Not sure if he stayed in it but I stopped his pull fairly fast and ran by him pretty good. Totally surprised me for sure. I had a little over a quarter tank of E30 mix and it was probably about 55 degrees out so nice dense charge of air.
Not shocked heavy 4 door with heavy ass off road tires . I’m sure there will be some guys running 9s with stock blower soon when tuning is out .

And long tube headers. The Intake manifold from the gt opens that 5.0L coyote truck engine a lot. As does the long tube headers, and e85 with dyno tune.
@@snipervision1 LOL, no supercharger on this truck. 2018+ F150 5.0's only need a tune and E85 to be very fast, relatively speaking. He also has the GT intake and running smaller tires on a single cab base truck (Light).
Wait till the new v6 ecopower f150 comes out this year. 500+ hp and 620 tq and 25 mpg. Lmao.
Rams are slow bruh and the trx is mad heavy and ecoboost are very easy to make power on just increase the boost
All I know an ecoboost tuned with down pipes can turn out 3.8 or better 0 to 60.
That 1st gear does it for me, everytime.

And this is why I sold my 2015 Silverado and bought a 2020 F150 5.0L. My truck was cammed fbo and couldn’t keep up with a tune only F150.

The torque of the Ram got him quicker to the 1/8 mile by 3 tenths. After that the coyote even up the mph at the end but cannot make up that difference to win the race. Impressive for that yote.
Impressive for over 200 less hp, Coyotes make that all day long over here in Houston.

This truck with ported heads and cams would've been a cool comparison with the TRX as well.
The first thing I have to say is, congrats, that’s a win to me. $40k base model truck with a couple grand in mods vs. what, a $90k super truck? Yeah. That’s something. I mean that Trx is faster than a hellcat in a qtr mile because nobody can ever get them to launch and hook the whole race. The second thing I wanna say is that it seems like your tune is winding the truck out too much. It’s reviving our so high that when it shifts you’re not at peak torque anymore. The gear ratios in a ten speed are so close together that when you’re pushing past 7k rpm, every shift brings you right back to almost 7k and that’s well past peak torque numbers even with a gt manifold or something besides a truck manifold. Dyno numbers and revving one out is cool. And they’re fast for sure. I own one. So I share the love. But it just seemed like it was all revs and no umph there at every gear change and it was noticeable that the gear changes are where the trx was pulling. Still an awesome sight to see. Good race man
Here's your perfect apples to oranges scenario. 495hp vs 702hp. Around 4500lbs vs around 6300lbs. The F150 is lower and narrower for less wind resistance. Much smaller and narrower wheels for less rolling resistance. They're both awesome trucks, but just in completely different classes.
There's at least a 1000lb difference in weight between the two.
Not the point of the video, that TRX is more than double the cost of that f150

I expected the Ford to pull at the top end but I was surprised by the Trx even with it being a crew cab, with 35s, tons of technology, and for being on the heavy side. Also for it not even meant for drag racing in the first place, it did well.

I bought a hitch less bumper support and cut the beam off and just used the oem brackets and was able to keep the middle bracket for added support
At work I preferred to drive the F-150 with the ecoboost over the Ram 1500, the f-150 is like a thoroughbred the ram like quarter horse, both are beasts!
Let's get the whipple mounted on the 5.0, add some traction bars, lower it a little, slap some wider rubber and watch that TRX in your rear view mirror.

TRX wont be an issue for my 6.2 2011 f150 4 door. 2 mods, hellion eliminator kit and tune going on soon. Good race.

Torque. It’s the launch that’s killing the F150. All that torque launching the TRX is more than the F150 can handle. A Supercharger on it with the right boost will make the TRX whimper. Then the torque starts lower and is much more prodigious!

Good effort on your part but a regular cab truck is too small for me. All the TRX needs is a few mods and he's in the low 10's and still has plenty of room for passengers and gear......
Remove the front sway bar, remove bumper add roll pan, and the tailgate another 100lb. Plus the weight transfer of the front to rear will be better.

When you drag your truck do you put it in 4H? And do you just put it in drive and go or is there a manual mode or a sport mode or something? I’m not familiar with f150s really, but this is a huge win in my book.
Weight savings is actually better than making more power, 500 lbs off is like adding a couple hundred hp, while loosing weight can be difficult it's generally much cheaper and easier than building power, the key however is too be light and powerful, but be able to use the power is important.
Damn pretty close. I had a 2017 2.7 ecoboost crew cab tuned on e30 and it ran an 8.32 in the 1/8th. I bumped to e40 and added catless downpipes and never made it back to the track before I traded it. Probably would have been pretty close. I’m in a 20 3.5 with a 10 speed now. Can’t wait to get an e50 tune on this thing.

Switch it from 4wd back to 2wd after the launch. It helps once it grabs second it goes back to 2wd and puts down a little more power.

Im pretty sure your gonna supercharge your truck right? Id go single turbo honestly that TRX wouldn't have a chance in hell especially on the big end. Once you feel the pull of a turbo youll never go back , well at least i wont i have a vortech v3si on my mustang and a twin scroll turbo on my truck. The turbo all day for me!! Especially mated to the 10r80 !!
Weight makes the difference all day every day, F150 wouldn’t have been close if the TRX could lose a couple thousand pounds. Regardless of mods or N/A or supercharger. I out ran a Ram with a Cummins the other day with my 3.5 eco screw, but not by much , he weighs 2500 lbs more. It was fun though.
I've been a ford guy since my first car, but way too many fanboys jerking off the F150 here. Yeah it held its own but you have to realize the TRX is not meant to put up big drag numbers. It's over 2000 lbs heavier with offroad suspension and tires. The F150 has some mods and a tune that puts it only 200hp under the TRX. Surely that's enough to keep up with a truck that is 2000 lbs heavier. Let's wait and compare the new Raptor R and the TRX.
Goes to show how fast a trx is. It probably weighs about 2k more pounds than the f150 and still walks it in stock form!

I know there getting over 700whp with the 7.3,and that's all motor. With 9 pounds of boost there getting over 1400whp. They are putting dodge to shame with these.
