Now it is commonly known that he is named after a spanish architect, but his name has another meaning. The name ‘Ulquiorra’ is a play on the spanish phrase ‘El que IIora’, translated in english to ‘He who cries’, and one key aspect that is constant in every one of Ulquiorra’s different forms and designs are the tear marks streaking down his face, which get more pronounced when he’s at his most inhuman, namely in his Segunda Etapa. Alongside them, his hole enlarges and the black streak appears, running down his abdomen, as if signifying a torn-out heart that he was not allowed to have as a Hollow. Now this is just speculation on my part, but I think his tear marks becoming more pronounced and the hole streak have a correlation, the tears (along with his name) denoting him crying over his missing heart. One other small detail that relates to his Segunda Etapa which might be a stretch from me but I’d like to think is intentionally done by Kubo is the importance of his Resurrection undoing and his appearance (especially facially) going back to its normal state. No other Espada so far has reverted back to their original state before their death, it didn’t happen to Aaroniero, it didn’t happen to Zommari, it didn’t happen to Szayelaporro and it didn’t happen to Nnoitra, yet it happens to Ulquiorra. It's interesting how Kaien's philosophy was that when two people meet eachother a bond is created in their palms, and Ulquiorra finally realized that he had a bond with Orihime, finding his own heart
Its been a long ride for the Heart theme from Kaien to Ulquiorra, definetly one of my favourite theme in bleach and one of the best character arc wrap up in anime in general i've seen. Yes the white hollow was the one who took over. If u remember when he was working on controlling his hollowfied form with visoreds...white Ichigo did say while vanishing that he'll take over him if he dies again. He was going to take over when Ulquiorra first shot him (before Grimmjow's fight) but Inoue came and healed him ...Although she had a problem healing him as white Ichigo's spiritual pressure was all over him. But the second time he was Dead deadd.... And that's how white Ichigo took over.....
"In this palm... is a heart." This goes back to Shiba's words, "Heart isn't something inside you. But whenever you think, whenever you remember someone, that's when heart is born." Ulquiorra gained a heart, but at what cost 😔
The Espada ranking is based not on power in general but specifically in levels of spiritual pressure. While the top 4 are extremely powerful in that regard, Yammy has the unique ability of growing his spiritual pressure infinitely as he gets angry (essentilay like the Hulk). So, while his base form is the the weakest Espada, he can easily become the strongest, hence the 0 ranking. Lanza del Relampago - Lance of the Lightning Ira - Rage (or wrath?) Tiburón - Shark Hirviendo - Boiling / Scalding La Gota - The Drop (water drop) Ola Azul - Blue Wave (oddly it's yellow. I wonder if it had the same type of change as Ichigo's Getsugatensho, which was yellow in the manga but became blue in the anime) Juhaku - White Tree Sennen Hyoro - Thousand Year Ice Prison
[Ep.271] 1. The line "I will protect you" is often looked at as a straightforward action, but it's actually a call back to Ichigo's base trauma. He couldn't protect his mother, his weakness caused her death, so he fears that happening all the time. That's why Orihime's "Help Me" was such a big trigger. [Ep.272] 1. Always loved the climax of their conversation on the heart. Ichigo fights with his heart to protect those around him, Ulquiorra in an attempt to understand the heart took Ichigo's heart quite literally, and what is a human without a heart...We call that a monster. Ichigo became a monster to protect those around him, tho as we saw with how he almost killed his allies, a monster ultimately hurts everything. This plays into a bigger theme of Ichigo refusing to accept that monstrous side of him, this entire arc is supposed to show Ichigo becoming more hollow-like (which is why his time on the mask increases). The issue is that he still doesn't accept that side, he tries to use it as a tool rather than understand that it's as much as himself as the good parts are. Ultimately we are all a bit of black and white and denying either of those helps no one and hurts everything. [Ep.273] 1. The Yammy 0 reveal has always been kind of a letdown when it comes to Bleach fans, he's not a very likable character, he doesn't look too cool, and most important is that his character is simply rage incarnate...which doesn't leave much room for nuance or complexity whereas the other Espada are all more intriguing. 2. A side note, Harribel has her hollow hole in places that would make many hentai artists very happy...this was confirmed in official bleach data books. [Ep.274] 1. Harribel is a weird case. Hollows are prone to selfish desires in general, Hueco Mundo is literally an eat or be eaten world. While most Espada have more aggressive or negative aspects of death, Harribel has a pretty noble one, sacrifice.
Ohhh yeah his mom that makes so much sense. Ichigo dancing between the two sides of him is going to be so interesting going forward. Lol I thought that could be the case for Halibel but I didn't want to believe it. Kubo you horny bastard
there was something that was left out in the anime when Hollow Ichigo stop Ulquiorra lance with his bare hand in the manga it was shown clearly that his hand transform into black and have a layer of armor when he block Ulquiorra lance, basically arrancar Hierro as for how Ulquiorra just turn to dust it is due to two factor the first being how much damage he sustain from tanking Hollow Ichigo Cero, the lost organ and finally the fact that he use way too much power on a form he most likely never actually use in a fight before so like Ichigo when he first use his bankai his own body cannot handle it specially when he is already heavily injured, and due to how he die he is also the only Hollow to not be purified so far in the series (not counting Quincies)
Finally it has begun. ^^ I am just at minute 1:43. "maybe, orihime is going berserk" - nope. it is going to be better than that! ^^ Although the berserk-idea was correct. (of course you know by now, but i wanted to share my thought. ^^ ) edit: I am at 9:50 now. - nice reaction! :D but this is still not the peak. edit: 31:18. So, this whole episode is one kind of a peak so far. But the last minutes with urquiorra and his sentence to orihime got me again. It never fails, to make me sad and awe at this moment.
In my opinion, Orihime could actually heal things like death... however, her abilities are directly tied to her mental state. Since she was so overcome by despair she wasn't capable of focusing enough to 'reject' Ichigo's death.
I have to note that most of the fight with Rudobon...actually, the entire fight with Rudobon is filler. In the original manga, after Rukia stopped him from fighting Ichigo so Ichigo could go fight Ulquiorra, Rudobon revealed his power, and it cut away. Then it comes to back to Rudobon, frozen and useless, and Rukia commenting on how freezing a plant's roots is common sense. She figured out his power immediately, so fast it allowed her to OFF-SCREEN the loser. But to stretch out filler time and give Renji and Chad a bit more to do, they added them to the battle and stretched it out, but I don't think it did anybody any favors and detracted from a genuinely awesome Rukia moment
Ichigo usually fights his enemies' ideologies with his own. The action is supplementary. Defeating the enemy is the priority; killing is a last resort. White Ichigo stole Ichigo's chance to defeat Ulquiorra with "reason." That's why Ichigo is frustrated when he says "This is no way to win."
@@DefinitivelyZach Imagine what Bleach would have been like if Ichigo killed Byakuya when he had the point of his sword at his neck. Imagine if Ulquiorra had been convinced of humanity a little earlier. Winning does not necessarily mean killing.
1) Yep, this is White taking care of business. It's just a good thing that Byakuya didn't manage to kill Ichigo in Soul Society, and Ulquiora didn't try to kill Ichigo in Karakura town, as he is, quite literally, the most powerful hollow ever to exist and the collateral could have been absolutely unbelievable. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that he could almost certainly kill the espada in a 10v1 fight. Unfortunately, as Ishida found out, it doesn't do nuance and so Ichigo saying that he would protect Orihime translates to killing Ulquiora with extreme prejudice and making a secondary target of anything that stands in the way of the primary goal. 2) Orihime WOULD have healed him eventually as she can heal literally anything as long as there is a fragment of a soul left (ie. she can resurrect even a dead soul, just as long as it hasn't already turned to reishi or reincarnated yet). The issue here is time, and the fact that her powers take longer to work on more powerful beings. This also probably means that she couldn't have healed Ulquiora because his soul got so much damage so quickly that it just completely lost coherence. 3) Yammy is technically the strongest espada, but only in terms of raw spiritual energy. He has no real techniques or skills, and is incredibly stupid, so he is still weaker than the espada with less raw power. 4) It's funny how similar Ichigo and Hallibel are in some respects--both are extremely stoic, use greatswords that fire off bursts of energy (her sword cero is basically his getsugatensho), have very high levels of strength and speed, and travel around with three weaker allies that they are protective over (tres bestes vs Orihime, Chad and Ishida),; also, both tend to throw themselves into fights for the sake of others, with little regard to the risk that they will end up sacrificing themselves (that's pretty much the story of Ichigo's life at this point) and are friends with Nel. And, yes, she is censored from the manga.
Hmm, I'm curious why Orihime said that she couldn't reject the wounds Ulquiorra inflicted on Ichigo the first time when she could have if she just had more time. I always thought that in both of the cases where Ichigo was nearly dead Orihime couldn't heal him but White had to instead
@@furiousdestroyah9999 Remember that there was that black energy leaking out of the wound that was stopping her. That was Ichigo's hollow healing him, and it is fully powerful enough to block her from interacting with it while it works.
@@DefinitivelyZach I can't give any detail without spoilers, but let's put it this way. She is going to be around in the TYBW arc--whether you take this as her winning her fights here, losing but not dying, or dying and being resurrected by Orihime later, that's up to you to speculate.

That is not true lmao mid diff? GTFOH if he could mid diff ichigo then why couldn't he just try to take on aizen himself? That completely makes no sense at all. @@sudatayo3081 Well he did have resolve to dispose of him, it's just that Ichigo was much stronger than last time. My advice is to start with Naruto after you finish Bleach, but here are the explanations and facts about Naruto if you didn't watch yet: 😉 Naruto is a manga by Masashi Kishimoto that appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1999 and since then has sold over 250. million copies worldwide, which makes it the third most important manga in history, and the anime series was made in two continuation. The first part of the series, which is simply called "Naruto", was released in 2002, and the second part, which was released in 2007. and is called "Naruto Shippuden", covers the story two and a half years after the end of the first part. The plot of this anime and manga is about a boy Naruto Uzumaki whose dream is to become Hokage in a village hidden in the Leaves (Hokage is something like a leader, a president) but the initial premise of the story begins with the gigantic evil Nine-Tailed Fox attacking the Leaf village and causing a great disaster and The Fourth Hokage defeated her and sealed her spirit in the form of chakra into the newborn Naruto and thus sacrificed his life to become a hero... 12. years later Naruto was shunned by the townspeople because they feared him because everyone but him knew that he holds within himself the spirit of that beast that almost destroyed the village. This anime starts as a naive comedy, but as the story progresses, it becomes more serious and dramatic, there are a lot of strong emotions, and Naruto Shippuden is even darker. This anime is about Ninjas.
271 is the only redeeming episode of ichigo. Other than that he's a basic protagonist that's stale as hell, with plot armor thicker than anything i've ever seen. It took 271 episodes for me to like ichigo a little bit lol. Goes to show you how great bleach is with its side characters, to pull me in when one of the main characters is so terrible.
This episode confirm like what grimjow said before. Ichigo coming in hueco mundo to save orihime is just a damn freakin ALIBI. The truth is, his here because he realy want to fight strong opponent - ichigo deny this truth. Ichigo has a warrior instinct (hence: instinct white is telling.)

This popped randomly on my feed. And the title, well, yes. That is the exact question and mistery to be solved in the last arc.
Can’t wait to find out! Hopefully you enjoyed the reaction!
One of the most anticipated moments in Bleach.
1K CONGRATS
THANKS
It's too late in the evening to list off all the cool references that happened In this fight, I leave it to the rest of y'all
"In this palm... is a heart."
This goes back to Shiba's words,
"Heart isn't something inside you. But whenever you think, whenever you remember someone, that's when heart is born."
Ulquiorra gained a heart, but at what cost 😔
Bro well fucking said. thanks for that
25:20 Candle light is exactly where Ichigo's hollow hole is. PERFECT
Definitely intentional
28:02 ahhh I love it when someone understands bleach
The Espada ranking is based not on power in general but specifically in levels of spiritual pressure. While the top 4 are extremely powerful in that regard, Yammy has the unique ability of growing his spiritual pressure infinitely as he gets angry (essentilay like the Hulk). So, while his base form is the the weakest Espada, he can easily become the strongest, hence the 0 ranking.
Lanza del Relampago - Lance of the Lightning
Ira - Rage (or wrath?)
Tiburón - Shark
Hirviendo - Boiling / Scalding
La Gota - The Drop (water drop)
Ola Azul - Blue Wave (oddly it's yellow. I wonder if it had the same type of change as Ichigo's Getsugatensho, which was yellow in the manga but became blue in the anime)
Juhaku - White Tree
Sennen Hyoro - Thousand Year Ice Prison
Yet somehow I'm not threatened by him lol
@@DefinitivelyZach No one ever was lol
[Ep.271]
1. The line "I will protect you" is often looked at as a straightforward action, but it's actually a call back to Ichigo's base trauma. He couldn't protect his mother, his weakness caused her death, so he fears that happening all the time. That's why Orihime's "Help Me" was such a big trigger.
[Ep.272]
[Ep.273]
[Ep.274]
1. Harribel is a weird case. Hollows are prone to selfish desires in general, Hueco Mundo is literally an eat or be eaten world. While most Espada have more aggressive or negative aspects of death, Harribel has a pretty noble one, sacrifice.
Who knew that triggering somebody's PTSD would make them into a Vasto Lorde lol
Ohhh yeah his mom that makes so much sense. Ichigo dancing between the two sides of him is going to be so interesting going forward. Lol I thought that could be the case for Halibel but I didn't want to believe it. Kubo you horny bastard
43:35 "Where is her hollow hole?" I think I know where it is. :D
Bruh
there was something that was left out in the anime when Hollow Ichigo stop Ulquiorra lance with his bare hand
in the manga it was shown clearly that his hand transform into black and have a layer of armor when he block Ulquiorra lance, basically arrancar Hierro
as for how Ulquiorra just turn to dust it is due to two factor the first being how much damage he sustain from tanking Hollow Ichigo Cero, the lost organ and finally the fact that he use way too much power on a form he most likely never actually use in a fight before so like Ichigo when he first use his bankai his own body cannot handle it specially when he is already heavily injured, and due to how he die he is also the only Hollow to not be purified so far in the series (not counting Quincies)
Finally it has begun. ^^
I am just at minute 1:43. "maybe, orihime is going berserk" - nope. it is going to be better than that! ^^ Although the berserk-idea was correct.
(of course you know by now, but i wanted to share my thought. ^^ )
edit: I am at 9:50 now. - nice reaction! :D but this is still not the peak.
edit: 31:18. So, this whole episode is one kind of a peak so far. But the last minutes with urquiorra and his sentence to orihime got me again. It never fails, to make me sad and awe at this moment.
Seriously one of the best moments in the show so far
Kubo had no business giving a demon looking antagonist such an emotional death 😂
True but after everything we've come to know of Ulquiorra, I came to really love his character
My man went to go get a drink he was so shook. Haha
Grimmjow's actually alive. Alongside tres bestias and Loly and Melody as you know by now, and Hallibel remains nr. 1 in Hueco Mundo.
hope we get to see him again in the upcoming hell arc!
I like the background music🤭
In my opinion, Orihime could actually heal things like death... however, her abilities are directly tied to her mental state. Since she was so overcome by despair she wasn't capable of focusing enough to 'reject' Ichigo's death.
I'm interested to see how far her powers go
I have to note that most of the fight with Rudobon...actually, the entire fight with Rudobon is filler.
Damn that really did take away from Rukia's moment
Ichigo usually fights his enemies' ideologies with his own. The action is supplementary. Defeating the enemy is the priority; killing is a last resort. White Ichigo stole Ichigo's chance to defeat Ulquiorra with "reason." That's why Ichigo is frustrated when he says "This is no way to win."
Ichigo doesn't think about it, he just "has to win"
@@DefinitivelyZach Imagine what Bleach would have been like if Ichigo killed Byakuya when he had the point of his sword at his neck.
Imagine if Ulquiorra had been convinced of humanity a little earlier.
Winning does not necessarily mean killing.
You will get answers in TYBW in October ;)
can't wait
That Ichigo Halibel dynamic is something interesting I didn't think of... really hoping she somehow sticks around after all this
@@furiousdestroyah9999 Remember that there was that black energy leaking out of the wound that was stopping her.
Interesting thay vasto lorde ichigo
Has a mouth as which supposed to disappear when hollows became one
Making this hollow to become higher than a vasto lorde maybe
Perhaps.....
Luppi is the name of that guy Grimmjow had killed. But Lame-y works. LOL
Hahaaa he deserves that title
39:23 In the manga it may or may not have resembled an another body part.
Hold up
White did say that he will take over if Ichigo dies
just so you know, the anime censored Harribel's look slightly
Oh I looked that up, very much a shame
Vasto lorde be like: I will kill anyone who dares stand in my way lol
orihimes power is one of the doppest in the series if only she had a different personality she would be badass
Zach: What is Ichigo!
Me: well yes and yes
LOL
ulquiorra died because understanding the heart contradicts his existence as emptiness, therefore killing him. Sucks
That's even deeper than I thought it was
Nice reactions man! i appreciated it
Now i realy hope you see this comment to check out the movie version of the fight made for the hell verse film it is on youtube and last for 2 minutes at best but it is realy good and what kubo said is the closest version of what he envisioned
OH and there is a little backstory of ulquiorra that kubo wrote in a data book you should be able to find it easly enough
link? or name of the video?
I might just, react to the movie on the channel after I get caught up
@@DefinitivelyZach nice that would be cool :)
also i advice you to check up the first film not necessarily doing a reaction but if you want to i won't complain
Memories of nobody is personaly my favourite, a nice self contained story and it is the only film that is half canon we could say
Here. It. Is.
Just ignore the espada zero
Not much people cares
yeah he sucks
What i LOVE about this... is ulquiorra held back after seeing this. According to the databooks, ulquiorra wanted ichago to destroy aizen. Ulquiorra COULD have defeated ichago, mid-diff. I love how in depth Ulquiorra is...
"ulquiorra held back after seeing this. According to the databooks, ulquiorra wanted ichago to destroy aizen. Ulquiorra COULD have defeated ichago, mid-diff. I love how in depth Ulquiorra is..."
What do you mean by this? Do you mean that he could have killed him after he went back to human form? Because I doubt he could, as he became dust and all, there's also no way he could've beaten white either
@@furiousdestroyah9999 I think maybe he was referring to that first portion of the battle before both of them went outside the Las Noches canopy. Ulquiorra took care of Ichigo quite easily in their first encounter so maybe if he had the same resolve to get rid of him the 2nd time around, he would have ended their fight quicker. (Like punch another hole with his bare hands)
That is not true lmao mid diff? GTFOH if he could mid diff ichigo then why couldn't he just try to take on aizen himself? That completely makes no sense at all. Why let someone who you know you can beat try to take on the final villain? Holding back or not he he stood no chance at all against vasto lorde ichigo. Tell me what stronger attack does ulqiourra have over lanza del relampago? Ichigo stopped it and destroyed it with his bare hand lol. Now before ichigo transformed he tried to kill ichigo blowing a hole through his chest so you cant even say you are referring to the first portion of the battle either as he didn't hold back trying to kill ichigo.
@@sudatayo3081 Well he did have resolve to dispose of him, it's just that Ichigo was much stronger than last time. He went from doing 0 damage and getting destroyed by a single cero to cutting him however so slightly and withstood his cero. I doubt he would've been able to kill him at that point of the story without Murcielago
Ichigo respect ulquiorra too much as he wants to beat him as himself
So him wanting to cut both his own limbs
Is he wants to beat him without "cheats"
he also didn't realize what he had done and didn't accept that as his power
if halibal went against yamamoto she would ended up as a fried fish 😂😂😂
In the end she had the choice of becoming fried fish by Yamamoto or Sushi by Toshiro :D
My advice is to start with Naruto after you finish Bleach, but here are the explanations and facts about Naruto if you didn't watch yet: 😉
Naruto is a manga by Masashi Kishimoto that appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1999 and since then has sold over 250. million copies worldwide, which makes it the third most important manga in history, and the anime series was made in two continuation.
That's another big commitment, we'll see!
He came to Hueco Mundo for horny but stayed for the enjoyable fights XD
Like the other guy said it was both and kenpachi is the one who originally said he’s a warrior and gave him that mentality
"WHAT IS ICHIGO??" he's Aizen's greatest experiment the prefect hybrid.
I know what he as because of the manga it’s a bit of a mindfuck at first
Ichigoat 🔥
Tiburón = shark
Maybe Tite Kubo foreshadowed by making Ulquiorra say that Ulquiorra considers Ishida most level headed person with ichigo.
😳
Yammy sucks I think he has the worst resurrection design and somehow seems to be doing worse aginst chad and them even though noitora one shot chad
Yeah he sucks xD
Sorry but your reaction looks and sounds genuinely force. your expression, body language, and voice all don't align with what manner of emotional reaction you're supposedly feeling.
