Drs. Kiran C. & Pallavi Patel Receive 2018 NSU President’s Award for Excellence in Community Service

Together with NSU, Drs. Kiran C. and Pallavi Patel are dramatically compounding their dreams to touch millions of lives through integrated medicine, patient care, and international exposure for medical students. What you may not know about them, are just some of their other selfless acts. In the wake of Hurricane Maria, the Patels supplied a private jet, allowing us to run several relief missions to aid NSU students and staff members in Puerto Rico, which included bringing them more than 10,000 pounds of relief supplies, such as much-needed water, food, and satellite phones. The Patels truly embody the Shark spirit of community service. That is why we honor them with this year’s President’s Award for Excellence in Community Service.
