Rochester is such an amazing city! The homes are beautiful, the downtown is awesome and there are SO many things to do here! The Big Light Show has begun this year, so make sure you take a trip downtown to see the wonderful Christmas light display that they put on every year. While you're there visit some of the shops and grab a bite to eat any any of the local restaurants!
All your videos make me hungry!! Looks like Rochester Michigan has tons to offer. Thanks Michael Perna and The Perna Team for all your great insight into some of Michigan's premiere cities!
@@robertweaver5285 yeah Knapps dairy bar was down the street with the most AMAZING burgers. And then there was Knapps Bar across the street. My friends mom worked there.
Ahhhh all the years I spent getting fucked up booling, skating and wandering through the woods in the background while the yuppies enjoy the day. Y'all should see my tour hell of a trip
Having grown up in Rochester and being 4th generation to graduate from Rochester High School, I was surprised to see Knapps Dairy Bar not on your food list
Knapp’s did make the original list but I always want to get permission before featuring a place. They didn’t get back to me until after we finished editing. It’s going to be featured in an upcoming video though!
@@MichaelPernaTV Sounds great! I'd played basketball with Butch's soon Morgan in fifth or sixth grade. Butch was so super nice... My dad had a power wheelchair and couldn't get in the front so Butch would open a backdoor and let my dad scoot in when dad would go downtown...
Hello Tom, thank you for letting me know. I didn’t know that and just read about that because of your post. I hope they can rebuild, I loved the house it was in and it added charm to Rochester. I’ll stop by later and hopefully see if there’s anything the owners need or can be done. I know the owners live in the house too and I hope no one was hurt.
Chris, you're totally correct and I stand corrected. After a little more research, Rochester was indeed founded in 1818 as the first European settlement in Oakland County. I appreciate you bring that to my attention!
Thank you for the feedback, I strive for about 50/50, the feedback I’ve gotten is that’s about right for city video’s, what do you think? And could be a worse face I hope lol
@@MichaelPernaTV Oh, it’s a very handsome face and you know it 😏, but slide the scrubber through this video and look for footage that isn’t all you. 50/50? *snort* 🤭 Oh, Sweetie, no.

Your Right about that, downtown Rochester MI has kept the charm of it's neighborhoods better than most!
Anyone remember when that Knapps used to be Enners donuts? My dad was the baker there. That was my first job. Lol
Was Enners after Lolich?
@@robertweaver5285 enners built that building. And he had one in Troy as well.
@@robertweaver5285 mind we are talking somewhere around 1970-72. My family moved to Florida in 75 so I worked there with dad for 3-4 years.
@@Bakerboy1958 Thank you for that, I couldn't remember that history. I've been gone since 2001 and just couldn't place the timeline

I didn’t know downtown Rochester had a strong DDA, I went on the site & found their online quarterly publication, it’s really good
Downtown Rochester’a DDA is impressive, other cities look to it as the example
This is amazing , You’re like a walking Google review!! You had me at the stuffed French toast ..
100% with the French toast! And Downtown Rochester makes it easy with so much to offer!
A side of vegetables with the onions rings. I'm going to start using that.
Hahaha right?! It makes me feel healthier
Rochester Michigan! YES!!
That’s The truth! When a families moving to Rochester or Rochester Hills I get pretty super excited to talk about the area
WE LIVE HERE!😃
Hi Michael, sad news from downtown Rochester. Looks like the soap store burned down tonight. I was on the scene. Sad.

I put the thumbs down on the news, not the delivery of it, thank you for taking the time to share.
You are welcome. I just thought you should know.
Rochester is the place to be!
Agreed I love that town and having breakfast at the Rochester Brunch House tomorrow!
Maybe I will see you there. Lol
Rochester wasn't founded in 1895. There are building all over downtown older than that. More like 1818 or late 1700's.
