I’m also a complete novice. My first time off-road really. I did the beginners loop like you and then all of a sudden you’re on the main trail! A brief “F*ck it” moment and stayed the course. Managed not to damage me or the bike thankfully. I think it was the same hill that you came off that almost got me. Going downhill (the camera makes it look not too bad!) and the guy in front was going slower than me. Dabbed the front brake and slipped the front wheel, panicked and pulled the clutch in, saved it but was gaining too quickly, then got on the back brake just in time! Lesson learned.
@@iainamurray ahh I’m so glad you managed to save it mate! I loved the experience and I hope you did too. It’s all a learning curve for us novices isn’t it and if/when we drop it we just got to pick it up and crack on. Main thing is you come off in one piece! Thank you for your comment and taking the time to watch! 😊🙌🏻

Great video, I spent two days on the beginners sectioned and then did about 50% of the main trail, complete novice but was great fun. TBH, the lad stopped in front of you was a bad place to stop, likely just caused you to make the error.
@@theladwiththebeard thank you! Really appreciate you watching and commenting 😬👍🏻 glad you managed to get out and enjoy some of the trail as well. I got down that section last year without any issues but it is what it is 😂🤷🏻♂️

great brakes, no grip and too much weight , yes your going down buddy! I hope you dropped your tire pressures down to around 15 psi in the front when adventuring on the edge of those fields. If you get the chance next time , take a little mx trail bike and have some proper offroad fun, save the big bike for eating those miles up on the tarmac. atb
