great choice... i haven't really bought anything else but Sennheiser HDs for the last 10 years, I now have two very similar pairs, the HD598 and the HD579. the great thing about Sennheiser's is that if you fall in love with a specific pair, you can usually bring it back and extend its life by buying some small parts. I've had my HD598s since 2012
40% dirty comments 50% White Knighting "muh respect for women" 10% talking about the headphones for real though, those are nice headphones, I have the 598SE and it's everything I could want in headphones. The pair displayed is a step up I think? They don't block out noise but in return you get a higher quality of sound. They're also very comfortable, not very tight but still fitted nicely, very lightweight. highly recommend them if you're looking to spend a bit on some headphones.
Tommy W : There is no headphone like SONY ✨MDR-CD900ST✨I’m sorry if you guys couldn’t purchase it from outside 🗾... But nice to hear about other headphones too 🎧 !
I have a pair of 598s. I don't know how I managed to wear headphones that only sit on top of your ears in the past because that is so uncomfortable compared to ones that go completely over them.
I actually love wearing both. I have the HD-25 and HD598cs. When I used to work audio engineering gig I would switch back and forth and wear them for hours. I think the design has a lot of factors in comfortability.
I used the 598s for years before they broke due to literally sleeping with them on every night. Can't wait to get another pair. So comfy, such good sound.
Good pick! I have the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and I love them. Great brand, in general! I still use a hard-to-find set of Sennheiser earbuds (the 'old' kind that just sit in your ear, not the kind that go into your ears all the way).
Most music seems to bias towards to the right side when doing things in stereo as far as loudness. It's not to a severe extreme, but it's enough to make a difference in lifespan between the drivers on cheaper headphones. Her 598s should generally last forever assuming it's treated well.
If you ever have the budget you should look at Senny HD 650s. Life goal headphones dude, super lush. Also over ear cans don't close you off necessarily just because they wrap around your ear, only closed backs to that if you didn't know, it's all about the ventilation which also allows you to "hear the room" a bit. Open back is always preferred for soundstage and acoustics, closed backs are really just for isolation.
If i'm not mistaken, you can unscrew the jack, and check if any of the wires is not making contact, is not hard to fix if you know someone with a soldering iron
Hey hey I purchased that same model a few months back!!! Love them to death. Perfect for listening to your videos with ❤️❤️ keep up the great work and enjoy your new headphones!!
Good choice with the Sennheisers. I've got the HD600, but they pretty much need an amp/dac in order to *really* shine. The 598 will work great for you! Love the vid.
Bwahaha I have the HD 650s on my wishlist, many audiophiles claim they are the best value in headphones around and can hang with the much more expensive sets. I've had the PX 100 as jogging open headphones ($50) but I liked the no questions asked warranty of the Koss Porta-Pro a little better. Now bluewhisper goes down the rabbit hole of finding a DAC/AMP for them.
RIP old headphones. The bond between an ASMR addict and their headphones is one that transcends normal conventions. May they rest in eternal headphone glory, shiny and chrome
you'll love these headphones, the HD598s were my first decent pair of headphones and I've now spent way too much money on various pairs of Sennheiser headphones and earphones 😌
You can probably fix those, usually it's the strain on the cable causes some kind of internal disconnection. I've fixed many broken sets of headphones - worth it if they're expensive.
Got the original beige 598's in the winter of 2015. Still working flawlessly. The sound quality is amazing and they are great media and gaming headphones. Only minor issue is that the top headband upholstery has unpeeled but it doesn't bother me.
@@user-vi3tb3bw5t I will use my headphones until they die. Which im pretty sure will be at least another 3 years. And then I will jump up to higher end ones.
Thanks for the Saturday morning tingles Blue!!! I loved the part around 2:40 with the sheet of packing foam. Thanks for not rushing through that! Soooo many tingles :D
Tbh I have HD600s, Audio Technica AD1000x and several other nice headphones and by far my favorite pair are my $60 Philips SHP9500s. They are extremely comfortable and have a phenomenal sound for the price plus they only have 32 ohms of impedance (compared to 300 for HD600s and up to 600 for some older AKG headphones) so you don't need a headphone amp to drive them. They are open-back which means that you can't really use them in public, but I mainly use them for UA-cam, games, and movies and they are amazing. Unlike other headphones, the connector is just a simple aux chord so you can get different cables and can turn them into a gaming headset with a mic attachment. I would recommend them to anybody as a first step who is looking to get into the world of HiFi headphones!
Wow, you have great taste in headphones. I have 3 pairs of Sennheiser headphones. 598's, 380 Pro, and the most recent addition the HD 650's. All excellent. Is there a new mic involved here or did you increase the volume level for this video because I can hear so much more in this vs. videos from a year or so ago.
Sennheiser is great! I've had a pair for about a decade I use for my electric piano. They still work great, only thing is the ear padding is disintegrating.
Sennheiser HD6XX currently on sale for $199 on Massdrop. Totally worth it in my opinion as they're based on the HD650's which were $500 when they first came out.. And no, I'm not sponsored by them.
I have the same headphones but not the SR version, I'm guessing yours are a newer version. Great headphones for the money. Would recommend to anyone who likes natural sounding audio.
Sennheiser is a great brand, they're usually pretty durable and very comfortable. However one channel dying probably isn't the headphone that broke but the cable. Either way, glad you like the new ones
yes, i talk about how my cat broke the 3.5mm connector...which almost certainly is why the one channel died :) however i was looking at these headphones for a while and the channel going out was the perfect excuse to pick them up!
excelent audio! your p's and t's melts my brain like no other Asmr artist. thank you for sharing and for your commitment to your channel!!! greetings from a huge fan from México!
Enjoyed this one - thank you, Blue. I'm a BOSE fan myself but i'll certainly give Sennheiser a try, next time i'm looking for some new 'phones. By the way, do you live near a major/busy airport of Air Force base? I often hear what sounds like jets taking off in the background (That's a sound I enjoy, and I live near LHR)
Hello Bluewhisper. Are those old ones HD 219 by chance? If they are, I'm listening to this video with the same model. They are quite good indeed. Thanks for your time and dedication to ASMR.
These are $169.95 on amazon NOW Sennheiser 598 SR and they are discontinued? I thought you mentioned a different model number? Anything good gets discontinued. I was going to open my Skullcap Bass headphones but instead will return to get these unless anyone heard anything good using these for ASMR?
you know... you could have just replaced the cable and been fine, but the new headphone you got are much better. l have a pair HD558's and they're pretty good. l prefer speakers over headphones anyways which is why l got the 558's instead of the 598's, l would rather put the money into more speakers.
Nice headphones. I've been using headphones for a long time however you just can't get the same clarity as on a proper speaker system which I'm trying to invest into in the future. But it's good for normal music listening, gaming and ASMR of course.
All that's wrong is normally the cord has broken... its a few dollars for a new cord. HD598 are awesome though... actually listening to this with a pair ;) Only thing that sucks is you hear people in the sound booth talking in some songs when you couldn't before.
I'm on my 3rd set in 6 years. I mow the lawn and the cable becomes tangled and pulls away the 3.5mm connector from the wire. I miss my boss dj headphones I had in high school. Lasted 6 years before the speakers blew out.
yes, though to be fair it wasn't intentional (like chewing on it or something). she was so guilty after as well! she knew she did something wrong. aww :)
nice video I also like senheiser's headphones ^^. If you are looking for good headphones I also highly recommend the akg k240 mkII(if you live in europe), excellent price/ quality ratio (around 85€) comfortable, nearly perfect restitution, perfect for the musicians or high quality music , or the akg k240 studio if you are American (65$, k240 mkII costs 150$ on amazon.com,same qualities).

Sennheiser is a great quality set. IMHO much better than anything BEATS has put out. Enjoy!

Thats because "Beats" are sold for the name only. Compared to most others, theyre garbage. Whereas Senn actually has a reputation for quality.
nice new headphones and whisper etc so relaxing
thanks ashley :)
I've had the old ivory version of these for 5 years now, they've been nothing but amazing.

l agree. right now l am wearing my edifier H840's which are on ear headphones, and they are so uncomfortable compared to my sennheisers.
Sennheiser headphones are very good quality. Sennheiser is a good brand ^_^
Omg... OG agn 😀😀😀

I've owned a pair of HD598 headphones for about a year and think you've made an excellent choice.
I love living in a world where I can get this relaxed listening to someone talk about new headphones. Thanks for this video!!
Is it just me, or is it always the right ear that goes out first in headphones.
Brandon Boss It's true for most headphones, even when the cable is attached to the right side.
well, the left side of my headset is "dying" so i guess it's just u :D
My right ear bud always goes out first! It's not just you.
neither side has yet died on my headphones, but the left has become decidedly weaker.
Most music seems to bias towards to the right side when doing things in stereo as far as loudness. It's not to a severe extreme, but it's enough to make a difference in lifespan between the drivers on cheaper headphones. Her 598s should generally last forever assuming it's treated well.

ooh I have those exact headphones and am watching this video listening through them. I am so excited for you they are the best asmr headphones ever!!!
If i'm not mistaken, you can unscrew the jack, and check if any of the wires is not making contact, is not hard to fix if you know someone with a soldering iron
Thanks for the video. This is a combination of two of my favourite things: ASMR and reviews
I'm loving those plastic crinkle sounds! Very relaxing vid & I'm sure you're already enjoying those great headphones! :-)
Hey hey I purchased that same model a few months back!!! Love them to death. Perfect for listening to your videos with ❤️❤️ keep up the great work and enjoy your new headphones!!
I have these headphones ... a tip is right off the bat I ordered some extra wires in varying sizes ...good for different applications
I bought this headphone in June,i had an ath-m50x before buying these, the 598s are an amazing pair of headphones.
Good choice with the Sennheisers. I've got the HD600, but they pretty much need an amp/dac in order to *really* shine. The 598 will work great for you! Love the vid.
I use my HD 598's with a Mayflower Electronics amp which sounds good with my MSI DAC.
Bwahaha I have the HD 650s on my wishlist, many audiophiles claim they are the best value in headphones around and can hang with the much more expensive sets.

Good choice. I have AKGs myself but Sennheiser would be my second choice, maybe first in highsight with how many small issues I've had with my 701's.
I have a pair of these headphones. They're fairly clear sounding. Great when used to watch movies with.
you'll love these headphones, the HD598s were my first decent pair of headphones and I've now spent way too much money on various pairs of Sennheiser headphones and earphones 😌

Great choice :) I'm using the Sennheiser Momentum's. Always been impressed with Sennheiser's sound and build quality.
I'm watching this with my old Sennheiser PC350SE I dropped them so many times but they never let me down. love them so much 😃
Got the original beige 598's in the winter of 2015. Still working flawlessly. The sound quality is amazing and they are great media and gaming headphones. Only minor issue is that the top headband upholstery has unpeeled but it doesn't bother me.
Sennheisers are so nice, I had the 579 for a while and then upgraded to the 650. God what an amazing headphone.
@@user-vi3tb3bw5t I will use my headphones until they die. Which im pretty sure will be at least another 3 years. And then I will jump up to higher end ones.

Great pair of headphones I have the closed back pair. They are great to listen to ASMR with!
Bragadocious The open backs allow air circulation, which keeps the ears cool and comfy. Which is important if you want to sleep with them on.
That table looks super comfy
It really does!
Great video! Perfect ASMR as always. Love the noises, taps, your whisper (the best on UA-cam), and your nails! Great headphones too!

3 years is very good in the day and age of disposable electronics. I bought a $100 set that lasted 3 months before I had issues with it.
ive got the same pair, they're pretty damn good, especially when it comes to the high tones
Sennheiser is great! I've had a pair for about a decade I use for my electric piano. They still work great, only thing is the ear padding is disintegrating.

My headphones stopped working just on the left side, so now when I play Duran Duran, all I hear is Duran
All that's wrong is normally the cord has broken... its a few dollars for a new cord.
HD598 are awesome though... actually listening to this with a pair ;)

Listening to this with a pair of ear buds that only play sound in my left ear...
LMAO me to!
Whatever I took my headphone off my right ear to share the the experience with you

I just got a pair of really expensive Turtle beach wireless and they don't sound anywhere near as good as my old, much cheaper turtle beach wired.
nice video I also like senheiser's headphones ^^.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Thank you for what you do.
I got this pair of Bluetooth high bass headphones that I bought for $30 and they are amazing.
Is there really alot of bass?
I have a piece of blue painter's tape keeping my HD201 Sennheiser together and have rolled over the cord with my chair innumerable times. How the heck is sound still coming from both sides.
Can you another alien role play please ? Love that one with the mask
You mentioned the size. Isn't the one on ear and the other over ear?
I was so fking close to get these headphones (really good deal on Prime Day, about 89€) but didnt realize that they were open back headphone so I had to cancel the order...
Artexx their actually semi open back so they don't leak as much noise as a regular open back
Open back isn't as good for bass, but they are much more comfortable over hours of use. I have used 598's, DT770, and BOSS on-ear blutooths. 598s win overall. Dt770s have best bass and engineering uses, BOSS is wireless which is amazing for exercise and housework.
yes i think james is right. they dont leak that much surprisingly! i like the open design because im almost always using them when someone else is in the room and it's annoying if we cant talk/communicate at the same time.
Omg you replied! Also open back allows soundstage, which is positioning of noises. For example if you are listening to a rock song for instance, you can hear the direction of noise from the guitar or drums or etc. there are many UA-cam videos on this. Also this would be a very useful feature for Asmr to really listen to the direction of the sounds
Bluewhisper ^^
thanks!
i love this girl
Sennheiser is good but they are quite fragile. I am in love with audiotechnica now
Thanks for this, one does not need Beats hipster shit when we can get pretty decent quality headphones for much cheaper.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
because of thumbnails, and i like overall on video and audio
i love your videos! my go-to asmr fix... ps senheiser rules
Love your voice its butiful!😍😘
That Blanket looks so soft I want one
Anyone know the name of that nail polish colour? It's a perfect summer shade. I don't need headphones but I do need that polish!!
Jody Jackson the nail Polish just look white to me o.o am i blind xD
